The Actual And Real 2016 Texans' Talk Mock Draft Extravaganza

Having said that, I vote Billings. There is a WR on the board that I really like but I wasn't expecting Billings to be available. He can rotate in at a few spots and learn from Wilfork for a year and then he's your future NT.

If we are discussing DE, I'd prefer Reed over Billings by a decent margin. No offense if you like Billings.

I really thought Jaelen could be the guy this team needed and I was soooooo stoked when we drafted him. But once you prove to me you are a numbskull, you are dead to me. He is still under a cheap rookie contract for a few more years, so he has ability to fight his way back and make the Doctson pick not matter, but I think you have to go about believing he's a stupid idiot and needs to be replaced mentality.

EDIT: BTW Boys... I mocked Pagan to the Texans 2 years ago when we did this, AND they drafted him. I don't think any help is needed there even w/ Crick gone. We got my guy about to show out this season.
I'm not seeing that much difference and was going with Billings wrestling background to make leverage as a tie breaker. But I'm looking for a NT rather than a DE. What do you see that separates Reed over Billings?

I'm not against Doctson, but he comes with the same concerns regarding route running as Coleman. And Coleman has more upside as an athlete.

I like Reed on the d-line, because he can play all the positions. But, Nkemdiche at DE has more upside.

I would at least consider Ryan Kelly, who would be an immediate starter at C on what is a pretty thin o-line.

My preferences would be:

Kelly
Reed
Coleman
Doctson
Nkemdiche

The way it should work for the Texans pick is that we set a window of time for voting.

Everybody gets one vote. You don't get to mention multiple people. Just cast your one vote and whichever player has the most when the clock is up is the pick.

I'm cool with that. Since we're supposed to have a 4 hour window per pick, then that means we should go until 1?

My vote is for Doctson.

Would you care to share that WR's name?

That would be the best thing to do if a group pick is what we want to do. That gives everyone the full clock to get on and make their voice heard.

I'm all for collective pic

Doctson: TexansFTW, ThePencilNeck, WolverineFan, thunderkyss
Lynch: TexansSeminole
Billings: Marshall, bah007, JB, Shiskabob, Mollywhopper, Infantrycak, PapaL, mussop
Kelly: Lucky
Fuller: Beerlover, austins23

It looks like Billings but I'm still in for Doctson and Austin Johnson in RD2. IMHO I think the Texans would be better served with this combo.

Covington isn't that bad. I think he can be serviceable when Wilfork beats it. I'd like some later round guys to get groomed for next season, but that's cool. It's a group decision.

Billings is a more realistic pick for the Texans because they never do what I want anyways.

Only position lacking depth is OL, specifically tackles. Who is going to block all these great young Defensive Lineman coming into the league?

No OT left on the board worth taking here. I think this is a deep center class so I don't see the value for one at 22.

Is this the thread we are supposed to make our picks in?

Which thread do we discuss picks that have been made in?

All the guys we have on the roster and the guys we just put on the roster.

Jeff Allen was a great signing. Bergstorm, meh, but depth doesn't kill you.

Everyone talks about Duane Brown like he doesn't exist anymore cause he gets injured. He'll probably be ready for TC and he'll be good to go. Afterall we chose this guy over Joe Flacco so he's gotta win us a Super Bowl right??

Newton sucks, but Rick Smith decided to sign him to a contract that keeps him a Texans for at least this year and probably next year.

Sua Filo??? You aren't giving up on that super high draft pick stud yet are you?? LOL, we suck.

Anyways, I'm cool w/ fixing the line, but I am not cool with reaching on Lineman, especially when I think most of these guys aren't going to be starters year 1 without injuries in front.

Wide Receivers Left for Round 2
1-25 Corey Coleman
1-30 Will Fuller
2-37 Josh Doctson
2-42 Tyler Boyd
2-46 Michael Thomas

2-52 Houston 2nd round pick

2-58 Pharoh Cooper
3-67 Sterling Shepherd
3-70 Braxton Miller (just keeps rising)

Of course RBs are numerous in the second.

Honestly I think im leaning towards Braxton Miller for us in the 2nd. guy has nothing but potential at the position. He's a hard worker, a leader, has speed to take the top off the defense has moves to make people miss in the open field, can also be a return man for us. He is still raw since he only played one year at the position, but with the amount he progressed in that one year I dont see him not progressing more with an NFL coaching staff

I was about to say something similar and with our luck with QB injuries lately, not a bad emergency backup either.

No or talks about t boyd. Man he reminds me of a patriots type pick.

Billings is my vote as well.

With the reason being I want the Texans to draft Braxton Miller or Corey Coleman, if he drops, in the 2nd.
