Particularly concerning about this incident? Police needed a helicopter to track down Manziel.
Via Cleveland.com:
According to a statement by the Forth Worth police, they used their Air One Unit helicopter to try to find Manziel because the female -- who told police Manziel was her ex-boyfriend -- was worried about his well-being.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports police don't consider using a helicopter to search for someone "unusual" and said the usage of the helicopter wasn't a result of Manziel being a public figure.
Fort Worth police said the use of their helicopter was within guidelines and not influenced by Manziel's status as a sports and public figure.
The department “will deploy all useful personnel or tools available to fully investigate any call,” said Cpl. Tracey Knight, a police spokeswoman. “Especially when there is a concern for the health or safety of a person.”
But here's the reality: requiring a helicopter to become part of a search for someone who appears on Instagram every other day, someone who should be easily reachable and someone with Manziel's fame and off-field problems is a major concern.
It might be more concerning if the helicopter
wasn't about Manziel's fame -- this is a big-time red flag for someone who clearly needs help.
This is the second time Manziel and Crowley were involved in an "incident" that resulted in the police being involved. The two were
involved in a roadside incident in October of this year.
Somehow Johnny Football's second NFL offseason is going worse than his first.
