Updated Roster (Post-Draft)

Izzo was a damn good special teamer when he played. Made several pro bowls if I recall.
Izzo played in the NFL for 14 seasons and was a three-time Pro Bowl selection and a three-time Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots.

Izzo had 275 special-teams tackles and never played for a team with a losing record, making the playoffs nine times, reaching five AFC championships and four Super Bowls. He was a nine-time special-teams captain.

Izzo began his career in 1996 with the Miami Dolphins after going undrafted out of Rice, blocking a punt in his second NFL game and being voted a special-teams alternate for the Pro Bowl.

Izzo worked under special-teams coordinator Tom Quinn in New York.

The Giants had strong coverage teams and kicking game with Quinn and Izzo.

At Rice, Izzo was a three-year starter who finished fourth in school history with 301 tackles, including a record 46 for losses and was a first-team All-Southwest Conference selection.

At McCullough High School in The Woodlands, Izzo played safety and running back and was named the Houston Chronicle’s two-way Player of the Year when he recorded 131 tackles and two interceptions and rushed for 1,081 yards.

I wonder if it was the Texans or Jordan who balked at a futures contract?

It is most probable that the Texans balked.......during the preseason last year, he suffered a very severe high ankle sprain for which he was waive/injured by the Eagles just before the season began. He was picked up by the Texans the last week of Dec. and placed on the PS. He apparently still showed ankle instability during his very short period of time with the Texans. If he does not already have arthritis, there would consideration for ankle ligament surgery and possible "clean out"..........current data does not produce conclusive evidence that late stage reconstructions like this produce satisfactory long-term results.
