The Official Half Assed Chiefs @ Texans Wildcard Playoffs Gameday Thread

Hoyer has taken this literally.

Lol I just talked to my wife whow knows less tHan zero about football. She asked how the game is going. I said our qb keeps throwing the ball to the other team. She says "why don't they take him out?".

My answer, I don't know.

Sounds like she'd be a upgrade in coaching.

I hate losing, and I really hate getting blown out. But in some ways, if they were going to lose, I'd rather see this debacle than a last-second heartbreaker. Because this shows VERY clear that this team needs to beg, borrow or steal to begin finding a long-term answer to the persistent QB problem.

A defense can take you a long way but if your QB stinks, you are asking too much of your defense AND probably leaving them on the field for too long. If this game doesn't convince the team to be very aggressive in the offseason about getting a decent QB, then nothing will.

I know the Hoyer decision is bad, but it's not like he passed on a great QB and chose Hoyer instead. The great teams/franchises have patience. Lets see how B'OB reacts to this. There are many positives to this team, lets see if they can build on it. If not, then yes. But this is the wrong year to be firing the coach and going in a different direction.

Carr is looking like a damned good one

Just to clarify again why I don't miss Kubiak, it's because when he was here the offensive gameplan was strictly run, run, pass, punt. He rode the talent of Arian Foster during his best seasons here and that was really it.

It's good that you clarified that. Now we know you're basing your dislike of Kubiak on complete and total ignorance.

I hate the trades where teams give up the farm, but at least it's a bold move, using hacks like Hoyer certainly doesn't get it done.

My best friend punched a douchebag chefs fan after the 1994 game for running his mouth all the way from the top level to the parking lot. He finally just snapped.

Any chance that Hoyer comes to his senses, realize that he will never be a decent NFL quarterback, and retires? He has the perfect out with the concussion thing.

My wife just commented, Hoyer is lucky, KC has dropped at least 3 of his passes that were in their hands. He could be having a Schaub kind of day. Just think, he could have had 7 ints to go with 2 fumbles - a record that would have challenged Schaub's Pick 6's for QB ineptitude. Hoyer and who ever argues to keep him should be fired first thing Monday morning.

Hey BOB, I hear Cleveland is wants to let Johnny Rehab go...maybe we can sign him and at least enjoy the circus.

The Texans win this game easy with Weeden. Chiefs like to play man-to-man and Weeden's stronger arm would've exploited that. Hoyer's pathetic play cost the Texans the game. BOB's pathetic decision to leave Hoyer in the game in the 2nd half is one of the worst coaching decisions of all-time!

If this team does not go ALL IN to fix this QB mess heading into next year, I will be upset. I'll reserve judgment to see what they do about the QB problem in this off-season. If they do nothing, it's going to be harder to keep caring, since it will look like they don't.
Had a chance to "try" and fix when we had 1.1. But the braintrust said The Clown was another once in a century talent like Mario and here we stand. I have always said not Clowney's fault but the people who decided not to trade the 1.1.

I still would have kicked a FG when we had the chance just so that we don't have to hear that **** all next year.

...and a head coach and an offensive coordinator and a TE who can get open and catch the ball and a RT and a good swing OT...

Our offensive line played well. Sure we have a few places to improve, but a good QB can mask some of these flaws like most teams with good QBs.

I honestly can't wrap my head around that one. The Chiefs are pretty hard to beat no matter who is behind center.

Now we have to hear about how good the Chiefs defense was when really it was Hoyer just throwing the game away and BOBs inability to pull him. If we had a decent QB we would have won this game.

time to get wasted after this performance

Schaub never had this shitty of a game.

I do think it is time to hire a real GM.

Yeah, that's kind of what I meant. I know that crop of QBs was a fairly weak class overall, but still, if this team had Bridgewater instead of Clowney? I think they win 11 games, maybe 12. And with this defense, no one would want to face us.

Alternatively, if you didn't want to pass on the best player on the board (in your analysis) and you had the 1.1, trade down and take a QB with one of those picks.

That's because I say Weeden doesn't throw those three first half picks, which put the team in a huge whole. Again, Texans win easy with Weeden, who had all the confidence and the whole team (except for BOB) behind him.

Been scratching my head. My wife and sister in law have been screaming for Weeden since the 2nd qtr. Why didn;t our qg guru obrien take out Hoyer later in the game? I really don't have a logical answer.

They could have been in position to win, but I think the point remains that it's not easy to beat the Chiefs, period, especially considering they have now won 11 games in a row.

We lost this game due to our QB play, I agree no need to clean house. We are a QB and RB away from dominance IMO.

Bullshit. We lost this game because O'Brien is a hard headed ass hole. Hoyer should have been yanked early. It never should get to the point where the home team is cheering when their "starter" gets hurt. Didn't happen today, bit had Hoyer got hurt, there would have been cheering because OB would have been forced to sit Hoyer.

& Nate Washington & Cecil Shorts shouldn't have gotten as many snaps as they did. No catching WRs. I haven't seen Mumphrey drop a ball yet & good **** happens when you throw the ball at Strong.

When Alex Smith runs for 55 yards... you know there's a little quit on your playoff team.

Cool. I wanted Weeden in there to begin the 2nd half at the latest. I just disagree we beat Kansas City easily with him in there. He not that good, even in favorable matchups.
