Who else thinks the Texans are going to crash and burn in 2015

Just a reminder. This was all foretold.

I'd like to believe the Bengals are ripe for a big upset. I am not drinking the Bengal juice because they will eventually collapse when it counts most. I can see them losing this game and starting all of the "what's wrong with the Bengals" articles. I think Watt is in the ginger's head, so unless they double and triple Watt, Dalton is going to be hearing footsteps all game. I predict the upset.

My biggest fear with this thought is the Pats/Texans game would be flexed to SNF. Sunday night game that week is Seahawks @ Ravens, not exactly entertaining this year.

But Texans on SNF don't have a great record.

Texans vs. Pats don't have a great record.

Pats are going to destroy the Texans regardless of when they play. If they added an additional day to the calendar that year just for that game and only told the Texans about it in advance the Pats could probably roll out of bed that morning, take the field without game planning for it and still wipe the floor with the Texans.

Just move onto the Patriots board if you are so taken with them. Just stay there when the worm turns.

I'm sick and tired of the Patriots and those who drool over them.

The Pats have to lose at some point. I'm predicting another upset win for the Texans.

I actually expect them to go undefeated (regular season) again this year. Brady's on a tear of epic proportions in response to his supposed persecution by the NFL and I don't think he's going to let them lose. That's one highly motivated individual right there.

But then what do I know. I'm just drooling over the Patriots again.

I take it you haven't watched the Patriots much this year. They're playing lights out. To simply state the obvious of them pounding our asses like fresh prison bitches isn't anything ground breaking. It's not drooling over them. Your hatred is obvious, you hate greatness. You probably hate rich people too... I'm curious where the hatred stems from? Ohhhh, deflategate! Bellicheat! Their only mistake was getting caught. I assure you all 32 teams break the rules.

I do not hate Greatness or Rich People. I dislike people who lack integrity, whether rich or poor, great or not, and loath those who teach others to cheat to win. HOW YOU WIN MATTERS!

But I choose to support the Texans 1.0 and not any other teams 2.0. We need to be proud of our own identity.

There is a clear difference between supporting a team and acknowledging their success.

Success is ALWAYS past tense. The definition of success in the past may change over time like the "success" of Neville Chamberlain's appeasement policy.

The future is about faith. You can expect success or not, but it hasn't happened yet. How certain was almost everyone about who would win Monday? That's why they play the game.

This is "The Lady" as Shasta III was known and the mascot I worked with the most. SHASTA IV never had a chance because the first handler (off campus) rough housed with her like she would never grow up and refused to accept criticism. These are not big pets. They are and remain WILD, even in captivity.

Yup! I was really hoping the Giants would hold on to win this past Sunday when they switched over to their game (very good game too). They seem like the closest thing to the Pats kryptonite. They had it in their grasp, but couldn't finish. They will mow over the rest of their schedule.

I highly doubt that. Especially after losing Lewis and more importantly Edelman. Now all they really have is Gronk, and he should be easy enough to take away when all you have left is Lafell and Amendola. Unless you believe that the former Texan Keshawn Martin is going to fill the very large shoes of Edelman?

They will get beaten, and probably more than once before the regular season ends. The Bills have the defense to do it, but we shall see if their offense can score enough.

Well, that's the beauty of football season. We'll certainly find out by the time it's over. I think they manage a 16-0.

I'm happy you were a large animal trainer and not a train conductor... I feel like every person on said train would be doomed with how easily you derail things.
It's a gift... and a curse...

I see connections that others don't. Some people call it ADD.

Considering the fact that I have less confidence in Yates as I do in Hoyer and our running game is 25th in the league and moving lower every game, I don't see too many more wins this year.

No, the grass is greener where you water it. So far, OB is forgetting to water the grass.

Actually in the country the offer soil absortion systems, which is straight from septic tank. And the grass is thick and green even if the rest of your lawn is dead.

You gotta admit. This team did crash and burn. They got it back going though.

No, they didn't. You can only crash and burn once in the NFL and that's when you're mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. Now, I could argue that a "crash and burn" (stupid phrase, anyway), applies for any team who doesn't make the Super Bowl, but that's 30 teams every year, and even the loser of the Super Bowl, by that logic, crashes and burns, too. That leaves only one, because it can be considered by some (me, included) that it's a failure anytime you don't win a Super Bowl.

But to prognosticate, one way or the other, before a season even starts is pure folly. One would think that life experience, itself, would teach that lesson to most of us. Isn't there a shared knowledge among all of us that anything can happen in the NFL, because it has, and will again?

I'm glad we won and made the playoffs. We still aren't going anywhere with Hoyer. He alone has zapped my enthusiasm for Texans football.

Dude, if you can't put that aside and just enjoy what this team has accomplished then you probably just need to find a different franchise to root for.

The Texans are a very flawed team but these guys fought their way into the playoffs. There's definitely things that need to be addressed moving forward, but there is a ton to be enthusiastic about.

lol

He/she doesn't root for the Texans.

The defensive turnaround was amazing. They were garbage first half, and second half were one of the best. Going into the playoffs with great momentum on that side of the ball. Offense still lacks that cohesion. The wildcat formations always throw off the rhythm they may be establishing.

Play great D and run the **** out of the ball are keys to playoff success. Is this team hitting its peak at precisely the right time? We'll see.

Absolutely. The Texans have questions about the "run the ****" out of the ball aspect (curiously, they've run it better after Foster got hurt) but the bottom line remains that defense and a running game really helps in the playoffs. Hall of Fame QBs like Bradshaw and Aikman didn't have the best stats but they "managed" the game in that they made good decisions and didn't turn the ball over, had good defenses and a strong running game (usually led by a good OL).

I'm not saying Hoyer is Bradshaw or even Aikman -- God, no -- but if you can get a decent running game going and your defense is playing at its peak, you don't NEED a QB to put up ungodly stats. That said, this team will go as far as its defense and ground game can take it.

At worst they'll be middle of the road and boring, which is highly likely. I don't think they'll crash and burn though.

You we're wrong. What are you, some kind of troll or something? We don't allow people to make wrong predictions around here.

What a morun.

Hey, I'm with you. I don't like Hoyer and he's part of glaring problems on offense up until this point. That doesn't mean, however, that Hoyer can't play above his head and pull a unicorn out of his ass. I just emphatically refuse to be emphatic in my prognostication, given all of the crazy football I've seen in my lifetime, even as improbable as Hoyer's ascension may be.

This thread. This year is proof of that.

In fact, I don't operate on a level of clairvoyance at all. I wait and see. It's either run down and screw one of those buffalos or walk down and screw them all. I'll chose the latter every time.
