NFL Random Thought of the Day

Jags rolling out the baby poop unis tonight.

Did anybody else think Gus Bradley was gutless tonight? The Jaguars were ahead 3 points with 2:23 left and had a chance to ice the game if they would have gained a foot on 4th down. Instead, Bradley decides to kick the FG and give Tennessee the ball with 2:18 remaining.

If they are going with that color, then they should also include the Jaguar Spots on both jerseys and pants.

I don't ever recall seeing a jaguar (or any kind of cat) with a blue tongue.
....just sayin'

And please the ugly color is bad enough; they do not need to add the accent spots, thank you

chargers gonna retire Ladanian Tomlinson's number today.

SAN DIEGO (AP) -- The San Diego Chargers will retire LaDainian Tomlinson's No. 21 jersey during halftime of their game Sunday against Kansas City.
Tomlinson joins Lance Alworth (No. 19), Dan Fouts (No. 14) and Junior Seau (No. 55) as the only Chargers to be so honored. He will also be inducted into the team's hall of fame as its 38th member.
"This is a moment that doesn't happen often," Tomlinson said Friday. "I don't know if there is a bigger accomplishment than to get your number retired and to go up in the ring of honor."

Matt schaub will start for the ravens a team he has history

I think the only reason Balty coach likes him cus he prob remembers the ol MNF game were matt nearly brought the Texans back from a good Raven team

any who this should be his last horrrayyy hope he does well

Dontari Poe is getting credited with the heaviest offensive touchdown. http://espn.go.com/blog/kansas-city...ntari-poe-scores-first-chiefs-first-touchdown

Kudos to the big man! Congrats on the touchdown and that was an awesome dive, but this accolade is disingenuous at best. He's being compared to 'The Fridge' weighing in at 330lbs. NOPE. In that world Vince Wilfork is actually 325lbs as currently listed (lighter than Brandon Brooks). NOPE. A 300lb offensive lineman walked through my door a couple hours ago (really) ... he's not within 50lbs of Vince. Ted (Mt.) Washington topped out at 375. NOPE. And every other nose tackle has a reverse WWE listing.

Joe Flacco tore his ACL and is out for the year.

Gonna be the return of Schaub with Tyrod to Buffalo earlier.
With Flacco either on or soon to be on IR, Schaub is the only QB currently on the Ravens roster. There are no QB's on their practice squad either. So with literally no other options currently available and the Matt Schaub we all knew and loved (well, some of us liked quite a bit anyway) a distant memory, what's the over/under for 2015 starts by Schaub? Six? Four? One?

Approximately 50 percent of ACL injuries occur in combination with damage to the meniscus, articular cartilage, or other ligaments. His MRI confirmed an MCL tear in addition to the ACL......................with this combination of injuries, you can pretty well predict that upon surgery they will also find meniscus and articular damage.

Read a local report saying he should be ready for training camp next year. Thought it odd as he hasn't had surgery yet.

He'll probably have surgery within the next 2 weeks.........when the swelling has resolved to the point that the tissues are less inflamed and are more pliable, safer to cut into, and blood vessels less dilated to lessen potential for intra and postoperative bleeding problems. With the type of damage that will probably be encountered, 9-12 months is probably more plausible. A QB, unlike many other positions, though, don't require a great deal of explosiveness, hard lateral mobility and cutting ability in order to adequately function...............all maneuvers that are regained in the later stages of rehab. So the Ravens may try to bring him back somewhat earlier than the point where he has regained his optimal function.......especially if they are faced with the possibility of having to start Schaub.

Ha! The Colts get to travel to London next year. A division game at that, v. the Jaguars.
I don't know if the NFL thought this one through. The Rams will play the NFC East team that finishes in the same place in the standings in Week 7. That could be any team in the East right now but it could possibly be the Redskins. In week 8, the Redskins will be in London taking on the Bengals. The possibility of two straight London games for the Redskins will not look as good as an Eagles/Rams or Cowboys/Rams game.

Would the NFL even allow for a team to make two trips over there during the year? I don't remember it being done before.

If that happens, I guess we could see a different Rams game instead of the NFC East/NFC West game. Although, wouldn't it also be unethical to change the schedule once it's released?

The announcers bitching has me wondering if my understanding of the rules is right. Aaron Rodgers keeps getting the Bears to jump offsides and the referees aren't allowing the play to continue. From my understanding, it's because the Packers are also jumping before the snap which causes the play to get stopped. Is that right?

The only reason the play should stop for off-sides is if a defensive player has an unabated path to the QB.

This post could be in any number of threads, but here will work.

Now that basketball is in full swing, does anyone else watch a football game and glance at the scroll underneath for a second and see a basketball score and see something like, "Notre Dame 89, Indiana St. 42" and think, "Holy crap, the Irish offense had a freaking day!" Only to realize a second later it was a basketball score? I must be getting old. :bender:

Your not lone. Unless you pay attention to the FIRST part of the scrolling, it's a blur and confusing. I wondered when Gonzaga got a football team.

Gronk doesn't look like he sustained an ACL...........looked more like a hyperextension of the knee.......his foot did not seem planted, so most likely a PCL.

This is what the game looks like when the Patriots aren't gifted a mountain of penalties because of Brady's constant whining and badgering of the refs. It's about time the opponent got the calls, and even better that it was Denver.

A good friend of mine is a Panthers fan. Today he tells me that they've played some good teams. He tells me Seahawks and Packers. Packers I'll give him. Seahawks were 2-4 going into that game and lost at home. Remaining games are Saints, Falcons, Giants, Falcons, Buccs. They have a very good chance of going undefeated but they really have had an easy schedule. I'll concede that you can only beat the teams on your schedule but I'm still not impressed. But of course I'm a "hater" now.

There was a game a few years back, Texans @ Colts, where our punt returner bobbled the ball, got tackled, and the Colts recovered. The refs ruled it as interference on the part of the Colts and gave us the ball +15 yds, the reasoning being that the returner has until the ball hits the ground to secure it. The exact same thing happened in the game last night, but the Broncos got to keep the ball.

My question is, did the rules change, or do I not remember that Texans vs Colts game right? Does anybody else remember that game?
