Absolutely ... what's the format?
That's the hard part. Would have to come up with say, 4 names per position, than I say we take a vote on a position per day
Such as (EXAMPLE) QB: Bart Starr, Joe Montana, Brett Favre, Tom Brady.
Voting opens at 8 am ends at 8 pm. One position per day.
Just need like 2 people who will assign the player options. Id prefer an older fan ( no offense). And 1 younger closer to the modern day.
Voting is fun, but I don't believe that should be the end all be all fun in such a broad topic as this. Might I suggest some friendly debates? For instance we use the voting system to narrow the field for each position to a few. That few of which is then represented by volunteer debaters to make a case for each player to then be voted on finally for the TT All-Time Team.
Figuring there's no immediate rush on this kind of thing like a draft board we can go stupid and make it a big deal ... eh?
How about start off the list with the hall of famers at each position and have a brief nomination period for ones who haven't had a chance yet or who folks feel havery been overlooked? Then there's no argument on the initial list.

The Neverending story. The debate will go on forever

Could shorten the hall list with a cutoff date - inducted after '65 or something. I suspect after that it would go quickly coming from the opposite direction and knocking people out of consideration For example crossing off Marcus Allen.
Another cool idea might be top 53 man roster of all time
This is not a bad idea. Either way people will have their complaints and the such. When do we begin?
Well, what guidelines would you like JB? What poll would you like?

Why '75 or later?
It doesn't matter when or if a cutoff date at all, just kinda helps in keeping era's kinda together. Keep to players most of us might have watched a time or two
If it's up to me, I say HOF eligible '75 or later or current players. Let's get the Qb out of the way 1st.
My nominations are
Bradshaw
Staubach
Brady
Manning
Montana
in no particular order
We gonna carry 2 or 3?
After consideration, I'm not sure we'd need a cutoff for the HOF. By the age of the members here I doubt there will be many nominations of the older players, but a date of 1975 would disqualify guys like Jim Brown and 'Night Train' Lane.
I was making the cutoff suggestion as a starting point so that all sorts of 30's, etc. players didn't make the initial list. I'd suggest folks initially cut off could be added back on just like say a Brazille who has never made it or Ray Lewis who hasn't made it yet.
Your suggested roster looks good to me.
The QB debate alone will be interesting. I think it's obvious that Montana makes the list, but there could be lots of different perspectives after Cool Joe.
My 3 choices:
Joe Montana
Tom Brady
Roger Staubach
No way in hell you leave off Jim BrownAfter consideration, I'm not sure we'd need a cutoff for the HOF. By the age of the members here I doubt there will be many nominations of the older players, but a date of 1975 would disqualify guys like Jim Brown and 'Night Train' Lane.
53 by my count, thoughts? MLB is heavier than needed, but i'm not sure where to put the 53rd spot. Or we could leave that spot open for an end-game debate on who got snubbed.
What differentiates a halfback and a fullback here Obsi?
Brown is generally listed as a FB but honestly for the purpose of this I think he should be in the RB category (and would be #1 there). The Browns ran a pro-set and he was designated FB but he rarely did any lead blocking and was the primary runner - HB would get around 100 carries and Brown around 300.

Why '75 or later?
Now for the defense
LE - Bruce Smith, Deacon Jones
RE - Reggie White, Lee Roy Selmon
DT - Joe Greene, Bob Lilly, Alan Page, Buck Buchanan (man, I hated leaving Curley Culp off this list)
LOLB - Bobby Bell, J.Ham, Ted Hendricks (loved the Mad Stork)
MLB - Lambert, Butkus, Singletary, R.Lewis
ROLB - Lawrence Taylor, Derrick Thomas
CB - Herb Adderly, Daryl Green, D.Sanders, Mel Blount, Dick Lane
FS - R.Woodson, Larry Wilson
SS - R.Lott, John Lynch
P - Ray Guy
PK - Jan Stenerud
Earl. That is all.
Earl. That is all.
Campbell?? Yeah tough one for me personally
Yeah, for me too. But I couldn't drop Barry but I could move O.J. for Earl...
I couldn't drop Franco Harris. Dude was a TD machine.
164 v. 91
Emmitt was the TD machine.
