Houston Texans @ Pittsburgh Steelers. 10/20. 7:30. **Official MNF Gameday Thread**

What would a rebuilding team look like otherwise? The team is short on talent and new on coaching. Ugly is a feature not a bug.

I disagree we looked like a professional team early in the kubiak era with way less talent. I supported kubiak way too long and I own up to that, but I'm ready to swing the other way on obrien, I see nothing special here.

Really shallow route by jj. Him and foster weren't supposed to be that close.

look on the bright side
at least we finally scored in the first quarter

So your Kubiak experience has made you gun shy? 7 games and it's time to ditch the new coach?

You guys are overreacting now. We just went toe to toe with two of the best teams in the NFL, we are not the Jags.

No, I never expected this team to go to the playoffs with Fitz. 8-8 is a accomplishment for this team this year.
I'm not really overeacting, just dissapointed so far. Maybe it was the die hard fan in me getting my hopes up too high. :texflag:

It's official we have lost 4 of our last 5 games. Might as well be a rebuilding year now. Let's start looking at our other quarterbacks at this point and see what we've got. Obrien's offensive scheme has been a total and complete failure and disaster up to this point and I don't think he is much of a leader either. Look at his reaction when something bad happens during the course of a game. He goes into a fit of rage, cursing screaming and throwing his tiny fisted little hissy fits. I'm not sure I like what I see after the first 7 games.

When will one ever 'go our way'?
We get the good bounce on the onsides and can't get collect it when it's right there for the taking

I think I saw brooks reed after the game high 5'ing someone at midfield. When did he go to the Steelers, caz he doesn't play for us?

Does it matter though? Fitz would have fumbled or threw a pick or found a way to do both in one drive just to make sure.

I don't enjoy watching this team play football. And I dont' enjoy the feeling after the game is over.

Why do I continue to support this? It's like asking to be punched in the gut over and over and over again

As bad as this team is playing, I think we can still be an 8-8 team. 4 games against titans and hangs. Have to beat the Browns. A win today woulda put is in wild card hunt. Think we are out of it now with having to beat the Ravens and Bengals to get to Wil Card

Before we draft a QB, we need to hire an _experienced_
(respected would be nice too..) offensive coordinator.

What good would be taking a QB early only to have Godsey
or Obrien be his mentor/tutor/etc.

I think we just create another David Carr situation if we don't
get the right coaches to work with whoever we chose as
our franchise guy.

And I'm pretty sure BoB and Godsey aren't the guys for the task..

BoB needs to focus on being a head coach and motivator.
I think those are better roles for him..

We will never go 4-0 against Tenn and Jax. We've found ways to lose to them for years. I imagine 2-2 or 3-1 would be optimistic

The problem is this team knows how to lose as a team to make Fitz a scapegoat. All aspects of the team made a mistake that cost us the game.

Obrien is unrealistic. Stupid ivy league loser. I'm not fond of smart a's that think they can execute a difficult offense to understand with a qb that can't actually execute it but understands it well. Overall it's just stupid.

I turned the game off at the start of the 3rd Qtr when they trotted Fitz back out there. I know some might be confused by my sig pic so let me clarify. I did not mean it for other teams to fear the beard. I was talking about us.

That's twice now on O'Brien with a turn over on our own goal line just before the half with horrible play calls with one of the worst turnover prone QB's in the league. WTF is it going to take to get off this O'Brien/Fitzpatrick ride?

I don't like the way it sounds, but just don't see anything special with obrien and he gets trotting dipshit out there at QB.

It's frustating, I know, but I don't think the coach is the problem. I look towards the GM and the owner. Changing the coach at this point won't fill the holes in the roster or hit on picks in later rounds of the draft.

This team lacks a backbone and it has for several years. When things don't go 100% their way on every play they fold like a cheap tent and find a way to lose. Watt, Dre, Foster and a few others are excluded from this list but the rest of them...

We just need better quarterback play. I've seen elite quarterbacks playing for different offensive coordinators. They make those coordinators, who I've never even heard before, look good. O'Brien and Godsey are good enough believe me. What if the Texans had signed Peyton Manning when he was a free agent? Kubiak would probably still be our head coach. What if we had drafted Aaron Rodgers in the 2005 draft? Heck, Dom Capers would still be our head coach. We could have have used any of our past offensive coordinators and they'd have done good with an elite QB. Or any good QB.

Foster played a good game, but his fumble started the turnaround for the wrong team.

Saying, "At least we aren't Cleveland..." just doesn't have the same effect on me anymore. I think we are danger close to being Cleveland and it is scaring the crap out of me. How many down on their team fans are saying, "At least we aren't Houston"?

Another nationally televised embarrassment.

Probably true. We'll keep Jax from being winless this year. I had very low expectations for this team at the beginning of the year. right now we are looking more like 6-10 than 8-8. Frankly, I'd rather be 6-10 and we get a better 1st rounder because God knows our 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounders haven't done sh*t this year.

I ask myself this same question each week and each year with growing seriousness. The Texans aren't even likable these day except for the metaphoric name across their chests.

I wish McNair would sell to be honest. I'm running out of years on this rock.

OB is about to go Dennys Green in the press conference.

I hope no one asks him about play offs.

I agree with you to some extent that better QB play keeps our defense off the field etc. We could probably be 6-1 right now with better QB play. I'm just not sure that we have any options at this point. Mallett and Savage aren't good enough to beat out Fitzpatrick? That probably says as much about Mallett and Savage as anything
