Official TexansTalk NFL 2010 Mock Draft

Why do you say that?

He has some talent to perhaps start in this league for a couple of years, but his mouth of the south act will not go far fast if he chooses not to put in the ST team work at full speed in the early years. As a Junior I was very unimpressed with his leadership skills when Mizzou was falling fast last year.

Of course he would show well at the combine, and of course he should be in the discussion for the NYG pick with McClain gone in OUR mock draft, but him in NYC, under Coughlin? I don't think so.

Slatonisabeast has less than four hours left, 12:00 pm. If he misses, we should move the Titans back to a member who has done this before.

I apologize for the delay, when I left home this morning there were 4 picks before mine so I didn't think it would get to me so quickly. I took the day off from work to spend some time with my daughter since she's out of school for spring break. I took my 12 yr. old daughter to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and we've been there for the last 13 hours. We rode most all of the rides, ate most all of the food, went to most every exhibit, display, and booth in the place and had a great time together just father an daughter. Some kid's 250 lbs. show pig stepped on my foot, I was wearing flip flops at the time. Oh my aching feet!!!

The N.Y. Giants select Brian Price-DT from UCLA. He was my 3rd selection but since Rolando McClain and Dan Williams are already off the board I'll take the best DT available and fill their biggest need.

That time with your kid is a pretty good reason to be late, glad you had a good day.

Good pick BTW

I think the Titans go with Dunlap or Griffen here. They went wr last year and got a good one in Britt. They need to dramatically improve their defense to keep up with the soaring Texans offense.

I'm still giving this mock my all by doing my research and due diligence, but I must admit, this mock's already jacked up. A couple of WFT picks kinda threw a stick in the spokes.

Eh, it's all about fun, I reckon

Well then ... give the Titans Tebow and run the Wildcats formation .

Tack suggestions:

Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma State. Most talented player left. But a bit immature.

Brandon Graham, DE, Michigan. Some might see him as a 3-4 OLB, but he is relentless and has a non-stop motor.

Carlos Dunlap, DE, Florida. Some off the field issues, but is a physical specimen, and could be really good. DE is a big need for the Titans with KVB gone.

They used a #1 last year on a WR , so I agree on the DE .

lol so true. But you have to think of it this way. We are picking players based on a Houston Texans point of view. Earl Thomas, Dan Williams, Kyle Wilson, and a few other fan favorites are going to go higher to teams that may or may not need that player because we are still using our Houston Texans glasses.

But even if the draft fell perfectly, you are going to get blasted for your pick by a couple of posters. It comes with the teritory.

Good luck!!!

As to their pick? RB CJ Spiller - just kidding.

They have needs just about everywhere on defense. I could see them going for DE Brandon Graham or CB Kyle Wilson. They're in the same position as Jacksonville: They have to stop Manning and Schaub each twice a year. To do so, you need a great pass rush or secondary or both.

Just throwing out ideas, but we really should consider dropping the clock down from 12 hours. That might promote people to email their top 3 players list when their pick is coming up in case they are not around.

Im just saying from experience that this thing will start to drag once the weekend hits and people stop caring as much.

If we're going to change the times, then we need to take into consideration WHEN the pick time started AND whether guys are morning/day/evening/night posters, I guess. I mean, if we shorten it to 4 hours and the pick comes up at midnight and the guy normally posts during the day... that's not really fair. Unless we all post a list of who we're considering with our picks so that when our picks come up, people can make our picks for us...? Maybe? Maybe the next 5-6 posters can post their lists now? They only have to have a list that's as long as how far out they are. For example, the Niners would need to give us 2 choices (because they're 2 picks back), the Steelers would need 3 choices, the Falcons 4, etc.

How about 6 hours.

If you are coming up in 4 picks you need to PM your top 4 choices to Texan4ever.

That covers someone up to 24 hours. And if 3 picks go rapid fire before you then you still have someone who can proxy pick for you. Not like that is likely though.

I think its just common sense that if you only get on for 20 minutes a day that you need to PM your big board to Texan4ever.

I say we all go to our respective bosses and tell them we've got the TexansTalk Draft. We can take the whole day off, drink some green beer over at Sherlocks and do this mock in person and get it done fast. I expect there to be no issues with this, so I'll see you all at noon.

Eh, I wouldn't say i was wearing homer colored glasses when i took Thomas @ 7. He has the ability to play Corner and FS. With Hayden falling, and not being able to use his Pro Day to see if he really runs that slow, I had to go with the #2 rated DB. That happened to be Thomas. I could of gone with a different position, but i felt that I had to get the BPA in a position of dire need (everything's a need on the Browns.) I didn't go QB because of Ol' Jake..

lol Post of the Day.

I think 12 hours works just fine. I'm not part of the picking, but it seems that everybody has been within the set rules so far. Some picks are a a bit strange, but when is the last time you have seen a real draft without a strange pick? If it was the case that at the real NFL draft every team picked who we think they should, then why would we even be trying to have fun making mock drafts?

So the Texans are 5 picks away and Earl Thomas, Brian Price and Dan Williams have all been selected. Players left that we could still be targeting are Kyle Wilson, Iupati, CJ Spiller, Ryan Mathews and possibly Dez Bryant if he is still there. Pouncey and Best should also be available but I think they are a bit more of a stretch.

I think board may go like this at this point.
Tacks - Graham
9rs - Bruce Campell/Anthony Davis (although could be Spiller)
Steelers - Iupati (again could be Spiller)
Falcons - Weatherspoon

This could leave us to choose between the #1 RB, #1 WR, #2 CB. Not bad.

I agree, I don't feel this draft has much in terms of enjoyability unlike last years. Anyways, its tough to do a group mock and keep things going but I appericiate everyone pitching in and keeping this thing alive!

The next five up:

16) Tennessee Titans - slatonisabeast - on the clock

17) San Francisco 49ers -Kaiser Toro

18) Pittsburgh Steelers - Super Mario

19) Atlanta Falcons - kiwitexansfan

20) Houston Texans - HOU-TEX

Just to give y'all a hint, I currently have 2 CB's, 1 S and 2 RB's currently left on my Texans board. Still workin on it though

Sorry, I knew he was still available, I just wasn't thinking of him as an option at this pick for the Texans. Seems like more of a SS.

Yeah

I believe we all know where the mistake was made. We know Slatonisabeast isn't at school. LOL

Starting in rd 2 the clock should be moved up to 6 hrs. Kinda like the NFL does it. People can give a list of choices via PM. This will keep the draft moving along at a good pace.IMHO

Lets start talking about who the Tacks should pick.

I think Fisher goes back to his USC roots and takes Griffin.

He's working at a daycare and trying to make his pick on an EtchoSketch .
