Texans vs Vikings MNF Gameday Thread 8/31

Did he say the Houston Titans?

Edit:

Rewound it - yes he did. Ladies and gentlemen...Cris Carter. He'll be here all season.

Yes, but they are hanging in there. I'd like to see the offense open up some more, but with Schaub out...

I'm very concerned about his viability for the season.

Must have read my mind. I was just trying to remember if we went over the top even once so far.

Naw.

We're going to end up 17-10. That's still a game.

So far, we've seen more of our defense and I like it.

Agreed. If we can get these guys to wrap up it would look a lot better.

I like the run call too at the end of the half. Conservative or not its 9 seconds left at the 30-something.

Gotta say Slaton looks slower than last year. Do not see the same burst.

I guess we gave up some explosiveness for endurance

The Texans don't exist as a sovereign entity. They only exist in
the context of how BRETT FAVRE does against them!!

Overall we haven't looked great but we are light years ahead of the team that showed up against the Saints last week.

And screw you Chris, c'mon man.

I've been saying it all offseason. Slaton gaining wieght might be a bad idea.

He did the same thing going into his junior year in college and struggled......it's why he fell to the third round. He looks a step slow this year and isn't as quick in space.....he's not making people miss.

This is the 3rd preseason game, your supposed to simulate a regular season game. There is no glory in preseason btw. Kickers need end of half and end of game practice too.

They were moving the ball very well on that drive and with 9 seconds and a timeout left why not lob it to Andre? it doesnt take 9 seconds to do that.

If it gets picked yea it sucks but if he catches it touchdown. Just sayin preseason is where you practice these things.

Cloak,
I hate to put you on the spot, but can you say anything based on what you saw from the way Schaub was reacting after he hurt his ankle?

Yeah, and the gained weight hasn't seemed to make him any stronger. He's been getting arm tackled all preseason.

K-dub got hurt, and they pulled Dre. Yet, the Texans were still able
to move the ball.

This is football not lottery .Remember we're trying to get better bit worse

Per Kubiak:
"Matt's gonna be fine, I'm gonna hold him.
Dan's gonna start."

Orlovsky - Great arm, great accuracy, shoddy decision making.

The problem isn't Slaton, it's the O-line. We can't beat a team like the Vikings or Saints without the line creating holes. Until that happens, we won't come close to last year's production or the playoffs.

I said it last week and i will say it again. Orlovsky has all the physical tools and if he gets his decision making straight he will be good. Plus it helps to have Andre out there.

I am happy that we didn't put Matt back in. No need - He came back out before the half, moved the ball in under 30 seconds to get the field goal. No need to put him out there against this D without full mobility.

Added bonus, get Dan O out there against the top competition.

All in all, the first half started off horrible, but I thought the D held up pretty well...looked horrible at times though.
