OMT is correct. It was Andre Smith. You can check the thread that OMT provided, or check my signature. It will have the link to the selection thread.

What are the rules on trading out? I know I have to use the chart and can only trade this years picks.

What are the rules on trading out? I know I have to use the chart and can only trade this years picks.

This years picks only.
No trading players on the roster, but you can trade players that you have drafted in the 2009 mock draft.
You don't have to use the chart, we just want to keep it fair.

San Francisco selects

Matthew Stafford QB 6-3, 237 Georgia

Dont see how they could pass up the #1 rated QB at #10.

I like it. Got a franchise QB at #10.

DieHardChris Bills are on the clock.

Then Ole Miss Texan Broncos.

Then PhilipW Redskins.

Here's the main boards version .

With the 11th pick in the Texans Talk Member Mock Draft, Chris, on behalf of the Buffalo Bills selects:

610x.jpg

BRIAN ORAKPO, DE, University of Texas

Explanation
This one's easy. The Bills have an even worse pass rush than the Texans, and if Aaron Schobel rebounds from his injury - the Bills might be on the fast-track to having one of the better pass rushes in the AFC. Of course that's a big if - but with DE perhaps being Buffalo's biggest need - they're thrilled to select Orakpo, who at this early pre-NFL Combine stage is the top DE in the draft.

This has gone by quick today. The Denver Broncos are now entertaining trade offers. I've got to head home soon so can't make the selection until tonight at the earliest to give y'all an E.T.S. (estimated time of selection) :)

Again, if anybody wants to trade up for any player please PM me quickly or I will make a selection or take someone else's offer.

Notable Players left:
Mark Sanchez (not Stafford!)- possible teams DETROIT!!!!! Vikings, Bears, Bucs... anybody?
Everrette Brown- you guys all need pass rushers.
Knowshon Moreno- best RB in the draft?
Vontae Davis- incredible athlete!

PM now or miss out on your favorite player. :)

Stafford was selected by the 49ers.

I feel like I can't stress enough... I'm interested in trading down.

There's one offer on the table (that is not in my favor) that I'm seriously considering taking. So let me know if you have even the least bit of interest, you can probably get a good deal.

I was in the same boat but whats the use in trading down when its just a first round mock? Anyway Stafford was a logical choice for SF. Personnally I dont think that highly of him.

Da na nuh.... da na nuh.. ESPN Breaking news... This is Mel Kiper, Jr. and we have just learned that the Detroit Lions have traded up into Denver's #12 selection spot. What picks are involved is unknown but I'll be first to find out becuase I think I know everything and will let you know if these teams are as smart as me and my big ass head.

---------------

Okay folks we have learned that the Detroit Lions will be giving up their #20 overall pick (originally Dallas' 1st rd pick given to Detroit during the Roy Williams trade). Along with this, it is reported the Lions will also be giving up their 2nd round pick (#33 overall pick or the 1st pick in the 2nd round).

Denver in return, will be giving up their 1st round pick #12, as well as their 3rd and 4th round selections.

Trade analysis:

Denver
1st (12): 1,200 points
3rd (12th?): 210 points
4th (12th?): 78 points
1,488 total points

Detroit
1st (20): 850 points
2nd (33): 580 points
1,430 points

Mel Kiper, Jr. back here folks and it looks like these two GMs are awesome. Get these guys some models or actresses or shoot, I have some lovely flowing beautiful hair! This is a great trade for both teams. Denver misses out on their two top guys in BJ Raji and Rey Maualuga. Detroit, after taking Aaron Curry #1 overall can trade up for another real playmaker. Detroit now has THREE 3rd picks. This sets up well for a team in need of rebuilding.

Done. Wasnt as dificult as I thought it would be. A little copy and paste magic.

Great trade guys. This mock is turning out to be very interesting on how quickly things can change on draft day.

Philip W Redskins are up.
johndoe Saints are on deck.
DAH DAH! Lork 88 and the Houston Texans are in the hole @ #15.

I will be offline probably the rest of the night. But keep them picks coming if you can. Be back @ 7am.

I know the trade has already occured, but how did Denver get away with trading a 4th round pick in a 3 round mock? Or this going longer than 3 rounds?

I think the rule on it was that you can't trade players or future draft picks. But you can trade this years picks from whatever round. You should just try to make the points on the chart come relatively close.

I really want to apologize to everyone for not making my pick, I did not realize that it was this week. I was in St Barts for my step dads 40th and had no internet. Once again sorry!

UPDATE: Per PhilipW's PM the Washington Redskins select Eben Britton, OT, Arizona.

PhilipW will weight in on this when he gets back.
from: http://www.walterfootball.com/draft2009OT.php

Eben Britton, Arizona
Height: 6-6. Weight: 310.
Projected 40 Time: 5.05.
Projected Round (2009): Top 25 Pick.
1/6/09: Eben Britton, who recently declared for the 2009 NFL Draft, has seen his stock soar ever since Arizona moved him over to left tackle.

7/27/08: An athletic tackle who earned a spot on the All-Pac-10 second team as a sophomore.

Washington is in dire need of o-line help and get an instant starter in Britton. Almost went DE here but the top guys don't seem to be Redskin type ends.

Sorry guys I didn't know we were starting this thing so early. Mauluga most likely would have been my choice anyway, but i might've taken Beanie Wells in a trade down scenario or maybe at the #8 spot so the Jags could have a replacement for Fred Taylor.

We probably won't go 4 rounds or anything but it's still part of "the draft". It makes it tough to trade any distance if you can't use future picks. It may not be fun to get those future picks since you can't use them to draft a player for this mock but I think it should still count towards your overall 'grade' if you will.

There's a Selection Thread stickied right below this discussion thread for the official selections. It's been updated up to th Washington pick (excludes N.O.'s pick of Vontae). Nice pick by the way!

Texans are up, can't wait to see who it is!

A lot of good options: Everette Brown, Brian Cushing, Tyson Jackson, Peria Jerry, or our pick of RB's.

Or even trade back up to 5 spots and still get one of these guys.

Yeah, alot of good options.

BTW I will make my pick between 2-4 PM tomorrow if Lork has already selected.

The Texans select . . . EVERETTE BROWN, DE, FLORIDA STATE

It was between him and Cushing, but I feel that the need at DE is much greater than at SLB. Didn't expect Brown to last this long anyways so this was a no brainer for me.

Sorry guys I didn't know we were starting this thing so early. Mauluga most likely would have been my choice anyway, but i might've taken Beanie Wells in a trade down scenario or maybe at the #8 spot so the Jags could have a replacement for Fred Taylor.

Not a problem. FYI I swapped the Raiders and Jags picks since steroid PM'ed me and let me know he would have taken Rey with the #7 pick. So the Jags get help on the o-line with Jason Smith since Barnes their current LT gave up 7.5 sacks this season. They can move Barnes to RT or shift him inside.

I figured we would go Brown. We need a DE who can rush the passer and Brown fits that mold. I think some see him as a possible 3-4 OLB, but lets hope that we get more out of this Florida State pick.

I'd love it if the Texans came through with Brown. I think it would be awesome to see him bouncing around the line on passing downs, like the Mario expirement where he stood up to rush. I hope we stick with him and snatch him up to bookend Mario's all around game with a high-motor hellraiser.

I'm halfway on the Aaron Maybin bandwagon. sounds like he's adding some weight and could develop into a great pass rusher from the DE position.

With the 16th pick in the 2009 NFL draft…

The San Diego Chargers select…

Tyson Jackson, DE, LSU

This might be a bit of a reach, but with Igor Olshansky possibly leaving this becomes an area of need. I thought about both Mereno & Jerry with this pick, but the Chargers can take a RB later in this draft, & Jerry is more of a 4-3 DT then a 3-4. I tried trading back where I thought Jackson might still be available but I got no offers so I decided to go ahead and pick him here.

My pick isn't up, but I am at the #19 and I will be accepting trade offers.

I have already made an offer to a team, but I haven't heard back from them yet.

I have also already rejected one offer.

If anyone else is interested, PM me.
