You know what? I see questions like, how good is McCarthy without Farve or Rodgers?
They should. Why not list many more? BB without Brady? Dingy without Manning? Getting away from quarterbacks for a minute, how about Gruden in 99 without the stellar defense? I mean the list just might be endless. How far should I go? You really have to be lucky with both the coach and having good players In order to have a successful team. You'd think they'd ask how good could he be with Watson?
Also Aaron Jones is a stud that has been criminally under used there
Talk about stale, predictable offenses. The only thing exciting about the Packer's offense the last few years has been Rodgers' ability to ad-lib on broken plays. I'd just as soon pass on McCarthy.
I think he still cares about winning. I sounds like the problem may be whether he is coachable or not.Maybe Rodgers does not care about winning as much as other all time great quarterbacks did. Some other all time greats are still playing and they still care about winning today.
But sometimes you have to be coachabable and adapt in the later years of your career. You probably would wh more that way.I think he still cares about winning. I sounds like the problem may be whether he is coachable or not.

Few are as focused and dedicated to winning as Brady is.but does he care as much about winning as say someone like Brady? Brady has always taken well below his market value so they could field a competitive team around him. Rodgers' last 2 contracts have been record breaking for the highest paid position in the league. If winning was his ultimate goal why handicap his team like that? Not saying he doesn't care at all about winning, but it isn't priority #1 for him.
That’s true. The only other one who might be even remotely close might be Brees but even he is probably not as obsessed with winning as Brady is.Few are as focused and dedicated to winning as Brady is.

I agree it should be an easier decision when you are making more money than most other people.that's why I have a hard time hating the guy like many do. Not many people out there would sacrifice millions and millions just to be competitive year in and year out

That might be true but I would not be that way.one thing I have learned in life is the vast majority of people can never have enough money.
Meh. His wife's career earnings DWARF his. Makes those pesky decisions easier to make.that's why I have a hard time hating the guy like many do. Not many people out there would sacrifice millions and millions just to be competitive year in and year out

Maybe Rodgers wants to win and knows McCarthy isn't the and realizes that McCarthy isn't the HC to get the job done. I think Rodgers is tired of carrying that franchise.
One SB in Rodgers career is the kind of track record that would make me never hire McCarthy.
Keep in mind that the defense has been depleted several times. They have lost important players on offense and defense but you might be right. I’d like someone to take off some of pressure off of OB though. I think we should just admire great coaches and quarterbacks teams who have won the whole thing because it’s not easy and mastering it is quite an achievement and it requires working hard together.Maybe Rodgers wants to win and knows McCarthy isn't the and realizes that McCarthy isn't the HC to get the job done. He should get out of his own way at this late stage of his own career eventually in order to help himself. Players would like to win yes. How many are willing to change and not be stubborn enough to prolong his football career? I think he has to be and the time is now. We’ll see what happens.Have you watched him play? 112% every game. I'm sure it's not his want to that's the problem.
Maybe he's too stubborn to get out of his way, but he wants to win.

Depends on what he does and who the Packers hire as their next coach. So you think Rodgers is done?
So you think Rodgers is done?
Brady is the ultimate team guy. Ultimate "system" QB
McCarthy has failed to build an offense around the best off-script QB in the game. What makes anybody think he's going to do any better with our off-script QB.
I think OB is doing just fine right now, maybe they can use that vacant OC title to go out and grab some top end, proven position coaching help given NFL rules on tampering.
So getting a coach and a G.M. who would get him some weopons then that would help him then. When they gave Rodgers weapons they won.
We have a few weapons

I haven't watched GB this year. But what I heard on NFLN is that McCarthy is being scapegoated. They got a new GM last year & it's too early to blame him even though it's obvious there is a lack of talent around Rodgers.
Are you talking about Eliot Wolfe?
I'm sure I heard that name somewhere.
Knowing this the Packers have to have a good offseason. Get new players either through the draft or free agency and then see about making a run. As far as McCarthy getting a job here I would at least look into it but I believe he’ll get a head coaching job just based on his Super Bowl successes alone and the jobs which I think will be opening up after the season ends.I haven't watched GB this year. old GM was Ted Thompson
new GM is Brian Gutekunst(he was actually in Houston to interview for our GM job, but the Packers called and offered him theirs the night before the interview)
It wasn't McCarthy's job to get weapons, and they replaced their incredibly out dated GM who did not believe in free agency, but instead thought all talent should be developed in house.
Isn't that essentially the group pulling the Browns out of the long term crapper?
