Watson not throwing the ball away is an instinctual response he has developed ever since he's been playing. As can be seen, it is/will be an extremely difficult habit to kill..............many players once in the NFL, no matter how great their coaching, are never able to shed their instinctual bad habits........and many continue to their ultimate undoing. Watson continues to hold the ball too long, to go down with the ship rather than throw the ball away, and to run and ram like a RB................all of these instinctual habits must be reigned in if he is to survive the NFL long term.

Real is all I ever really asked for.... IF that comes at the hands of BOB I'd happily eat crow for every word I spoke against the man, his buttchin and competence level.

Okay... I'd still mock the chin...

Almost time for the “Are any of you going to admit to owing BOB an apology?” thread? :)

A Super Bowl winning coach has to really crater if he doesn't get a second chance at head coaching. McCarthy will be an HC next year.

You know what? I see questions like, how good is McCarthy without Farve or Rodgers? How good is any coach without having good players? Hum. Yes, it takes two to tango. Doesn’t it? Remember Kubiak and Manning?

Yes I owe O’Brien an apology. But he will have to send Bruno and Guido over to collect.

There are still many things about BoB style and plan I don't like but its hard to argue with a 9 game winning streak. Yes there have been some close ones and yes it hasn't exactly been the cream of the NFL crop but hey we are winning the games we need to win to get where we want to be so I'm not ready to change the horse in the middle of the river. If we go one and done again or next year we completely tank then it might be time to again look elsewhere.

As of now though we are mentioned in serious talks about getting a bye on week 1. We've never been mentioned in serious talks about that, there are even a few going out on a limb and saying we could be superbowl players. All those things being considered Buttchin has earned his shot at this year and even next year, year after that we'll wait and see.

So to answer your question no I wouldn't be open to McCarthy.

Coaching is pretty much a crapshoot that’s for sure.

You'd think they'd ask how good could he be with Watson?

They should. Why not list many more? BB without Brady? Dingy without Manning? Getting away from quarterbacks for a minute, how about Gruden in 99 without the stellar defense? I mean the list just might be endless. How far should I go? You really have to be lucky with both the coach and having good players In order to have a successful team.

Yeah as really Rodgers ran McCarthy out of town. And really Rodgers now has a big head. But McCarthy wants to be a H.C. not an assistant!

Extra emphasis on this. The talent gap between Jones and the next dude is beyond noticeable. There’s either something personal or this is a huge mark against McCarthy.

This is something I heard them talking about on 610 the other day when the same question was brought up about whether the Texans should bring in McCarthy as OC next season. It was discussed about how his Offense hasn't changed or evolved and they run the same plays they have for as long as McCarthy was there in GB. I don't think he would be a good fit here in Houston. I'll pass!

Interesting. It sounds like Rodgers is part of the problem there in Green Bay.

    Hell no.

I think OB is better overall coach then McCarthy.

Maybe Rodgers does not care about winning as much as other all time great quarterbacks did. Some other all time greats are still playing and they still care about winning today.
