How do you think trading Clowney will affect the team and OB. Before OB could say he didn’t have anything to do with personnel matters. But now he can’t. How does Watt and co. Feel about OB getting rid of Clowney after saying he wanted him here? The locker room seems to respect Clowney and his work ethic even if OB doesn’t.

Not just that, but they know they are better with Clowney, right now, than without him. It's not a win now move. And that won't be popular with guys like Watt and Hopkins.

Seriously? Well maybe you don’t know. You dont walk away from a smoker for more than a few minutes, especially on a beautiful but windy night like tonight. Gotta keep my temp around 225 for I’m guessing 12 hours, adding my splits about every 30-45 minutes in this breeze. Gotta admit, Im pretty well known around here for my brisket and pulled pork.

Should be done around 10 tomorrow morning...then I’ll wrap it in butcher paper and cover it with a towel In a cooler for a couple of hours to rest....real important! Gotta have it at a friends by 2 tomorrow, about a two hour drive. But out here the nights are beautiful and the days are hot, so it’s not really a bad idea otherwise. This is a real zen thing for me anyways. I’ve got an outdoor wood fired pizza oven too that I like to fire up at night.

Not a full moon tonight but. The rumors are flying. About an hour ago rumors surfaced in Miami about this. Don’t know anything about the source, just bs speculation saying he would be a good fit but would take several draft picks to get him.

Well, if RAC is a defensive genius, the Texans can deal Clowney and not miss a beat on defense. Right?

depends on what we get in a trade for clowney doesn't it? For example Clowney plus our second round pick Lonnie Johnson to Oakland for there number to pick Trayvon Mullen Plus outside linebacker 4th round Max Crosby Plus 2020 first round draft picks. We could then offer Raiders (Bears) pick plus our own 2021 first for CB Jalen Ramsey. Mullen, Crosby and Ramsey would make Crennel giggle. Adding Twill would put us in competition for SB.

Raiders have several different packages that would be good.

Cards with Patrick Peterson, Zach Allen and 2020 first and second round.

A final word: Some of you on social media interrupted my awesome meal at Bern’s Steakhouse Monday evening to ask about the unsubstantiated rumor that the Dolphins are interested in Houston Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney in a trade.

And I reached out to a team source who did not dismiss potential interest. Because why wouldn’t most NFL teams be interested in a player of Clowney’s caliber. But the same source was not aware Clowney is currently being shopped.

Remember that when Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald’s name was floating around as possible trade-bait last offseason, I reported the Dolphins would have been interested in the player if Donald was actually available. Except he was never actually available. So this might be similar in that regard.

Clowney is not the same caliber of player as Donald but he’s obviously a pass-rusher upgrade for the Dolphins.

But here’s the problem, as outlined to me by a league source: Say the Dolphins are interested in Clowney. They’re giving up a first-round and possibly other picks to get him and then sign him to a huge deal?

Is he the final piece of the puzzle on defense for a Miami team making a run at a championship with a great franchise quarterback?

best thing i ever did was upgrade to a pellet smoker. no more long nights. no more smoked out clothes. I'll still fire up my stick burner for nostalgia every once in a while, but i'll never lose sleep over it again. I'll just set my Pit Boss and wake up the next morning to awesome BBQ.
