He may not have been offered to the Texans... it's been speculated that that trade was part of the Garropolo deal just enacted later ala the Ozweiler deal
I dont believe these reports.
former or latter? I believe the latter
Are you talking about BOB not wanting Os?
If so, agreed.

Same chance as the 5-11 Jags. They think 2018 was a mirage.

Tweet from @riversmccown: Last season, the Texans made zone runs their bread and butter despite the fact that they couldn’t run zone to save their lives. https://twitter.com/riversmccown/status/1093154850160791553

How can the Texans make their running offense more consistent in 2019?
Yes, the Houston Texans were a zone running team that could not run zone to save their lives in 2018. The funniest part about this chart is that you can draw a direct axis to games they ran for 100 yards and how likely it was they ran Power — only 14 of their Power runs came in the seven games they didn’t reach 100 yards rushing.
While charting blown blocks is a highly subjective thing, and the Texans offensive problems go beyond just blown blocks, I think it is instructive to focus on Nick Martin here. Martin is the one player on the line that I think escaped most criticism, but he had more blown blocks than any lineman that ran zone for the Texans last year.

Bill O’Brien has three AFC South titles in five years but just one playoff win to show for it. He is also in a fast-improving division, with the Frank Reich/Andrew Luck alliance in Indianapolis of particular concern. Endowed with a remarkable degree of self possession, O’Brien is nevertheless weighed down by unnecessary conservatism. It’s a trait he needs to shed if he’s to make the most of his killer app at quarterback, Deshaun Watson. Typically on the hot seat, clashing with his general manager or both, O’Brien has for once earned himself a quiet offseason after last year’s new high-water mark of 11-5. Of course, it ended with a crushing playoff defeat to Reich’s Colts. O’Brien’s cleverness as a CEO has kept him one step ahead of a pink slip. He needs more of it on the sideline if he’s to maximize Watson and keep his job for the long haul.

Tomlin #7
The man that can do less with more.
And he’s still better than O’Brien.
They could be right but also for some reason none of the sports experts ever give the Texans much credit for anything. I can't think of one game the Texans have won, in any year, that most experts weren't saying it was due to the other team making a mistake rather than the Texans playing a good game. That's not just an issue since BoB came along either, I remember thinking the same thing when Kubiak was here. For a team that's only been around for 16 years we actually are doing an amazing job so maybe its just they don't like the idea of the new kids on the block beating up on the old guard.
What are you talking about, the Texans have been picked and been favorites of the media numerous times only for us to roll out steaming piles like the letter jacket game and smear egg on all of their faces. The Texans have always been the boy who cries wolf. If I was in the national media I wouldn't be on the bandwagon, I mean I'll just play the odds here.
Also.. what do you mean by "For a team that's only been around for 16 years we actually are doing an amazing job"? In what world have we done a "amazing job"?
Last year several talking heads were very high on th
e Texans. Mainly because of what Watson showed in his rookie year. So I'm trying to figure out what Maverick was talking about to.
14 is about 10 spots too high. OB sucks as a HC and he's worse than that as an OC.

Compared to the 2nd youngest NFL franchise... I wouldn't say amazing but I understand the "slight" exaggeration.
Do you think Jag fans are happy with their franchise right now..and they've been to two AFC Championship ga

I would agree that they appeared that way at times, but I think 11-5 was overachieving considering the o-line, depleted receiving corps, and issues at CB. How much of the appearance of being outshemed was coaching and how much of it was the lack of talent at key positions that could not be covered up.Because many times the team looked unprepared, underperforming & outschemed.

Maybe because 3 of those 11 wins were due to our defense getting torched in what should have been game winning drives for our opponent, but their kicker somehow missed the kick gifting us another sloppy win? Let’s not act like we’re some world beaters now, or that O’Brien is the second coming of Belichick. This 2019 season ought to bring the O’Brien apologists back down to earth...How do you finish 11-5 and in the playoffs and the coaching staff ranks in the bottom 10?

Hey, I am not saying they are top ten, but I think bottom ten is far too critical. You don't win 11 games with the holes they had in personnel with a bottom 10 coaching staff. Sure they made mistakes, sure they could be better, but they had to be doing something right. A nine game winning streak is more than mere luck and weak schedule.Maybe because 3 of those 11 wins were due to our defense getting torched in what should have been game winning drives for our opponent, but their kicker somehow missed the kick gifting us another sloppy win? There is a lot of hate for O'Brien. I am not to the point of writing him off. I am with you in giving him and Gaine another two years to see what they can do. If they team implodes this year, then I am all for replacing him. It's like Cak/TK/DB Cooper wrote that article. Maybe TK Dog and mangler also were contributors to the article.
