Thanks for your support!

Brian Flores lawsuit, etc.

You need people to force you to hire people even though that may not be what's best for your business. Bet you would feel differently.

The MASSIVE difference is that I don't have hundreds of millions of taxpayer funds building my place of business.

And I was disagreeing with your premise - i.e. "even though it's what they think is best for there business and helps the odds of not losing money" - when the Texans braintrust was a moment away from hiring an unqualified backup QB for HC simply because he is a friend of one of their favorite executives.

Hiring McCown was not going to raise the odds of not losing money. If anything, it would ensure that fan confidence fell even lower.

The way I see things are if somebody's willing to risk their own money to start up a business, then they should be able to hire whoever they want to hire and either succeed or fail as a result of those hires.

Wake me up when the McNairs fund their own stadium.

Otherwise your point is completely irrelevant.

One of the original complainants filed an amended lawsuit at this beginning of this month. No settlements are coming it’s better for them anyway to take it to trial where they would likely be awarded much more than Watson is going to offer
I would invite anyone who's interested to read the amended lawsuit which I discovered in a legal-only website and posted it yesterday in the Watson Sexual Assault thread. No media has picked up on this yet. https://www.texanstalk.com/threads/sexual-assault-suits-against-watson.115909/page-177#post-3236839

We dont know that McCown was going to be hired. What's been reported was there was a split between Caserio (Gannon) and Easterturd (McCown) so Cal went with his choice. (Lovie) Kinda like he did when he followed Dungy's advice and went with his gut (Caserio) rather than take Porn Fairy's advice. (Thank God)

So if you invest 700 mil in something but get taxpayer $$$$ you shouldn't have the right to make the decisions to hire who you think will give your business its best chance to succeed?

Just to be clear none of this was “reported” it was shared with us by one of our own.

The media has mostly reported McCown was going to be the hire. John McClain reported he believed McCown would be the hire.

I believe our member sharing what he knows, but I don’t know how we got from the three finalists to Lovie Smith.

For all I know Caserio presented Lovie as an alternative, with Gannon. Though Caserio was leaning towards Gannon. Easterby had nothing to do with nothing (according to our source)

Cal has to sign off on any hire. You know that. As long as he’s not interjecting or dictating, I believe that’s the way it should be. & I don’t see how GameBoy got to Lovie on his own. Caserio must have presented it as an option & it just happens to be the option Cal selected even though Nick preferred the other.

As long as he adheres to federal labor laws & fair hiring practices. The NFL is working through ensuring that is happening.

I think Caserio wanted to hire Gannon but Gannon wanted to hire his own DC/defensive staff. Cal wanted to keep Lovie on as DC, so Gannon backed off and with the Flores crap, Cal took the path of least resistance in Lovie, who also happened to be the safest choice.

I dont know the federal labor laws? Do they say you have to hire people you might not otherwise hire to meet a quota? Very Un American BTW. Certainly not capitalistic.

I think Caserio wanted to keep as much of the coaching staff in place as he could. Especially Pep & Lovie. When he found out O’Connell was going to Minnesota he understood he wasn’t going to get what he wanted, so he lowered the bar.

Then when Gannon wanted to replace Lovie, he was prepared to lower the bar again.

I think Cal gave counsel to not keep lowering the bar. If you (Nick) think the best way to go is with Lovie & Pep, then that’s the way we should go.

Nick received that counsel & decided to go forward with Lovie & Pep.

do you think the NFL has been filling quotas? Where do you think they’ve set it? One?

So you think Nick made the decision to hire Lovie? Agree to disagree.

No they haven't been nor should they. You didn't answer my question, do you think employers should be able to hire who they think will best help their businesses succeed since they risked their money on said businesses?

I dont think he got to hire his guy.

You think Caserio wanted to hire Lovie as his HC? LMAO
You think he wanted to hire Gannon? Lol... he painted himself in a corner & left Gannon as the only "finalist" on his list.

If he wanted to hire Gannon it wasn't for the right reason. It was because he couldn't hire the guy he wanted.

He should have started over. This is the 3rd time I've said that.

What makes you think this?

Who out of the list of interviews did he want to hire?

It sure wasn't McCown.

I was hoping that the long "search" was due to the team having to wait till after the super bowl to name their new coach.
.

I don't care what color he is, that's who I wanted.

:coffee:

Getting Barry's lawyer ( or his AG), that's a shrewd choice by the league.

The NFL found their only black friend. They had to pay for that person, but they found someone. They will show up and say see - we hired a black person to represent us. We aren’t racist.

Loretta is getting roasted by the black community though. At least the people who have a Twitter account and are commenting on the post.

I just take people at their word. McCown, Flores, & Gannon were finalists.

You can't think of a good reason for two of the three to even be on the list, but somehow he managed to get one truly qualified candidate on the list.

It just stinks no matter how you look at it

Why’s Flores even looking for work this year? Surely the Dolphins are still paying him.

The Dolphins will owe relatively little on his remaining contract which to begin with was the lowest salary in the League. It was structured such that incentives would allow him to earn monies that would bring the numbers to a respectable level.

With Brian Flores' future in Miami in doubt, how much is his salary, and how many years does he have left on his contract with the Dolphins?

According to that article he's still receiving between $500,000 & $3M for the 2022 season.

That's the kind of contract you give to a bridge HC.

I believe 2022 will only bring him in ~$500,000 since he won't be around to make incentives that could have brought it up to $3 million.

They're assuming on the $500K & the incentives. They have not seen his contract. They compared it to Naggy who had the lowest salary $500K & the next lowest that they know, $3M.

They don't know what Flores was making. They're making an educated guess that it's something between those two. At least that's the way I read it. I'll read it again.

Yeah, just reread it. The haven't seen his contract. Several "sites" report the $500K figure while at least one reports $3M, & still another "sevral million"

Steelers going to get sued next?
Flores is like the Covid, you know you're gonna catch it and the only question is how bad is it going to be

The woke will start eating their own. It's just a matter of time before the Rooney's will have to pay a price for this decision.

Maybe the Steelers hired Brian Flores to create a better chance at landing Watson “if” he’s cleared to play again. Based on stories and/or assumptions regarding Watson and Flores….they may hold out hope that Watson would waive his NTC to play for them.

He should want to play for the Steelers, period.

Unless Flores is the HC I don't see why that would influence Watson's decision. It's not like they're frat brothers or anything. As HC Watson thought Flores could help build his brand.

As a LB coach, Flores can't do anything for him.

Players are required to register with their agents, making the association available to the media and public. Coaches are not required to register with their agents, making their association or dissociation not an automatic matter of media/public record.
So we know who the agents are for all these coaches and even the chaplain Esterbe, but nowhere on the internet we can find out who the agent is for Flores? Yet, your birdie knows? C'mon man. If I really wanted to know, I could call Pat Kirwin and find out. I want to find out how accurate your birdie is because I think it's trash in this instance. You're awesome with the medical information, but this doesn't seem to be your lane
