2023 TEXANS DRAFT DISCUSSION

Still a ways to go but I am expecting CB to still be BPA. But Noah Sewell and T’oo T’oo still on the board is definitely unexpected. I am intrigued if DeMeco wants to try to rehabilitate Sewell who was projected round 1 prior to this season. TE still has several guys that may be able to beat out Brevin Jordan for a spot as well.

All about finding guys that can contribute on ST and have a reasonable shot of playing on offense/defense day 3.

It won't be the last pick of the 3rd round... there will be 7-10 compensatory picks at the end of the 3rd... They decided they would prefer a pick in the 80s next year instead of a pick at 105 looking at the board. Not sure why anyone would take issue with that.
Because they traded with the Eagles, who happen to be in the super bowl this year and are the favorite for the super bowl next year. That would be pick 96, before comp picks. Where are you getting a pick in the 80's? Must be Caserio logic.

There actually still a few CBs I like on the board, so hopefully we get one of them.

My last mock had us taking this guy in the 4th. Great value pick late in the 5th. Probably not a huge impact player, but just a solid, if somewhat unspectacular guy. Count on him to be a smart, instinctive guy, just not a real playmaker type. He has a good chance to start for this team early in his career. For a late 5th, you really can’t expect to do much better.

ST’s guy I bet. Can he cover a RB out of the backfield? Who is the last LB the Texans have had that could cover a RB?? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Did I see that Wypler is still on the board? Holy Guacamole. I saw mocks with him anywhere from back half of the 2nd to at latest early 4th. Most had him early 3rd. Anyone got any intel where the disconnect is?

Centers can be only suited for certain systems sometimes. Plus five have already gone this draft. Not a lot of landing spots.

We are up shortly. I’m turning back to offense. Kunitz the TE from Old Dominion, or two RBs…Kenny McIntosh or my favorite, Keaton Mitchell from east carolina. Mitchell is the Tank Dell of the RB class. Slippery as an eel with top end speed to burn. Home run hitter. Knock is mostly size…he’s tiny… and small school background. Also would be a major PR candidate and you have Tank as the PR guy. Longshot pick, but I like him enough to take him here.

but in other ways, Horton has plus strength

The new Horned Frogs staff loved what it saw from him this spring, and pro scouts really like him, too. Horton was good last year with nine TFLs and four sacks, but expect him to be a lot better in 2022. At 6-4, 279, Horton, a high school safety who also excelled in basketball and as a high jumper, vertical-jumped 38 inches and broad-jumped 10-0. He also clocked a 4.55 40 and has power-cleaned 400 and squatted 700 pounds.
The bench press give you insight into sustainability more than single exercises.
