FIRE O'BRIEN NOW!!!

Yeah and imagine if McNair could have gotten the funds needed to start the team in 99 and hired BB and drafted Brady. Imagine if they had realized the David Carr experiment was over and drafted Rogers or big Ben. Imagine if we had gotten added to the NFC instead of the AFC and didn't have to get hammered by the Pats seemly every year. I can imagine a lot of things that don't matter.

It's much more realistic to just not trade away high picks than to build a time machine IMO

Well for example they apparently should have seen into the future to know that Philly was going to jump for Dillard. And it would have been seeing into the future as even the people that follow Philly never saw that one coming.

That only requires being proactive. Even Rick Smith was able to do it

That's true, but then we'd have Dillard cheap for 5 years and our first round picks the next two years

Mr McNair? $$$$ is that you? $$$$

You'd rather have cheap players instead of competent players? $$$$

You do know you'd make more $$$$ by winning more games right?

If you're saying our coach and GM can't build an LT without blowing our future draft load then the solution is a new coach and gm.

That's exactly what I've been saying going on three years. No one's listening.

I'm all on board with that my issue is the next coach won't have two first round picks. The next guy is gonna have this year of 1 of a 3 year rebuild crap starting in 2022.

That's why I'm rooting for BO'b to win the Super Bowl. I wouldn't want to have a green GM under those circumstances.

The Tunsil move was a win now move. Although the clowney was not

I didn't like it. Looked stupid to me. But O'Brien wanted Clowney gone something bad. He didn't care to get any real compensation. Wanted him gone. Didn't care how stupid he looked. Wanted him gone.

& now he's gone.

You know this will affect the locker room. I think I know how, very badly. But I may be very, very wrong. Maybe somehow this will help him. I don't know how. I don't understand how he could think it would help.

Somehow, I bet this makes the team better. I don't believe it does. I can't see how it does. But there's no way BO'b can be as dumb as it looks.

I know he made a point to say that bark and Martin are versatile and practice hard

Its hard to define horrific when it comes to entertainment but your mental state is accurate reflection of how many must feel because that's exactly what these moves were, horrific applications of football assets. There can be no recovery only time will heal these wounds, if we survive them. Not even 20 years of existence and McNair's have overseen three distinct entities, The Capers/Casserly era, The Kubiak/Rick Smith era, and now The Bill O'Brian era. Each just as unsatisfying as the next, but O'Brian has by far the best mix of talent yet the most bizarre approach to assembling and implementing it by a long shot. He must be crazy like a fox. Ok where is my Butt-Chin Emoji?

:bag:

BO'b was going to trade Clowney come hell or high water! How dare Clowney hold out as long as he did! BO'b just knew there was no way Clowney would not play nice and he would come to his senses before seasons start. Come training camp it should have been apparent that the sides were way too far apart and Clowey should have been traded for maximum value. To add insult to injury the Texans are on the hook for part of Clowney's pay this season. That is flat out messed up.

O'Brian is almost a schizophrenic when it comes to dealing with players. Some it seems he can't wait to get shed of (Clowny, Brooks). Others he keeps around forever (Blue, Savage). And I'm dam*** if I can see a pattern. It certainly doesn't seem to be about talent.

Versatility. Brooks and clowney aren't versatile enough

Simple. You follow the O'Brien version of the "Patriot way" or you're gone. No independent thinking permitted.

Bill O’Brien signals he will call plays against the Saints

The Houston Texans will take on the New Orleans Saints and even with a new offensive coordinator, Bill O’Brien will be calling the plays. What’s going on?
Here were go Houston Texans fans — it’s T-minus one day before it’s time for our team to conquer the 2019 season. We all hope that this season is filled with success but they have a much tougher schedule this season, starting with battling against Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints in their house tomorrow night.

Right off the bat, the Houston Texans will be featured on prime time and I’m positive that this team won’t disappoint. With Deshaun Watson under center and in front of a national stage, there’s no telling what he’s going to be able to do. We just need to sit back, relax and enjoy what we’re about to see because it’s going to be damn exciting!

God I hate this turd. I knew he wasn’t giving up play calling. More bland boring conservative play calling with slow developing pass plays and unimaginative run plays. It’s going to be another ugly season. :gun:

Really, this surprises you? Did you really think he was going to turn over play calling to that kid in the most important season of his career? If so then that was kind of dumb on your part.

It doesn’t surprise me hence why I said it knew he wouldn’t give up the play calling. He’s a pathetic predictable narcissist and I can’t wait till he’s gone.

And yes I would rather the “kid” call plays than buttchin.

I’m not too upset as this may be a blessing in disguise. If he’s calling the OC, HC, and GM, there’s no more scapegoats for him. It’s all on him now.

That is my hope but every time this turd fails he ends up with more power. I have a horrible feeling that even if he gets completely out coached and the team looks completely unprepared in the first round of the playoffs AGAIN, just getting there will be enough for McNair to justify keeping him another year.

So another example of OB putting his personal desires over what’s best for the team. OB fans need to wake up.

I’m just curious but who on here do you actually consider an OB fan. There are things he’s done some of us like and there are things that happened that some don’t blame him for but I haven’t see anyone I would call a fan per say. But the the definition of fan seems to be odd around here at times.

It will just be proof that we need caserio in here and start the rebuild over.

I hope Caserio comes here, and brings the o-line coach with him! O’Brien already admitted he and Devlin can’t find or develop offensive linemen. No more excuses!

And when that doesn't work and they're in cap hell, say goodbye to Olsen

Colts are without Luck.
Jags are without Foles for 2-3 months.
So, even though both looked decent with their backups and Minshew may actually prove to be better than average.. in reality, two out of three (four) bubbles in our little tub have essentially burst so, all the Texans have to do is beat the Titties for yet another playoff birth, which makes OB1 a success again???
OB1 couldn't have asked for better odds considering.. which should actually place a brighter 'fire me light' on him if he does fail.

I've been hoping for him to succeed just so 'we' can succeed as a whole but this year should prove validity one way or the other.

No excuses.

I’m sorry would you prefer supporters?

Am I a fan of O'Brian? Hell no. But I'm between a rock and a hard place. I wish he was gone but I'm not willing to pull for my team to lose to get that wish.

So I try to convince myself that somehow all these moves make sense. That we really aren't the cluster**** we seem to be. That there really is a plan.

So in all honesty I hope we do good enough that O'Brian gets coach of the year. Even though I would probably puke if he did.

Bingo, I feel the same. Would I prefer a better coach than BoB, hell yeah, I don’t think he will ever be the coach that Houston needs. I think he could be an decent coach if he had a strong owner and GM holding the leash and telling him his job is to coach and win games and that’s it.

Trouble is like you I can’t not root for the Texans and not hope they win every game. Likewise I try to make logical sense of some of their moves and see the big picture. I’ve honestly never seen so many fans that actually seem to want their team to lose just because they want the HC gone.

Same here. I’d love to eat my words, as it would be awesome to see our team win it all. Not holding my breath, but I will be rooting for our team in its entirety. May the football gods bless us with glory! Them sumbetches owe us some good times!
