The New New JaDeveon Clowney Thread

OK, I was one of those guys waiting for the facts before making my mind up. If true for those two defensive rejects (pass rushing Mingo had 1 sack), and a third we always blow (Except Justin R), we just got rid of Clowney, gave him away. I watched JJ and the defensive line call themselves the lunch pail crew etc, they just work and grind, I can only think Clowney did not fit the rest of them and we did not want that much money in our DL between Reader, Clowney and JJ. Still, let him sit until a contender has a injury and we get .50 on the dollar. We got .10 if lucky. Yes, I agree, laughing stock, but it makes me think the locker room etc and maybe even JJ had said better without him, which is hard to believe due to his talent level

The thing that should worry people is Cal McNair probably had to sign off on this deal. OB didn’t orchestrate this disaster all by himself.

Can’t fire ownership and doubtful O’Brien will get fired due to the predictable results of this terrible offseason. From inactivity in free agency to this trade, the Texans have bungled this entire offseason.

You just described a clusterfvck of an org.

This was bad, no matter how you spin this it was just bad. Clowney only had leverage because, just like with the Pats tampering charge, the Texans showed they had no balls. They should have called the Pats out and made them prove tampering and they should have called Clowney’s bluff and made him play on the tag or lose the money.

Ehh, According to some, we were already going down the shitter b/c of the tough schedule, BoB and the offense etc...and if we were just average with him as u say, then he likely wasn’t as great as we thought he was.

I’m not at all happy with this trade mostly b/c we didn’t land any o-lineman.. apart from that, i’ll Just wait to actually see what this team looks like next week.

If this isn’t proof OB doesn’t have a clue to you then you’re blind. There’s no defending this move. A late third and two guys who were likely to get cut today for a pro bowl elite edge defender is possibly the worst deal ever made by any franchise. This is ******* disgusting and you trying to find a way to defend it just proves everything you’ve been arguing throughout this thread has been nothing but mindless drivel. accept you were wrong and move on. But you won’t because you’re smarter than EVERYONE else here right? Enjoy watching this pile of steaming Crap ruin this team even more with his I’m smarter than everyone else attitude. No wonder you defend him, you guys are two pees in a pod.

@steelbtexan for gm!

This franchise is a marketing scam for every fan stupid enough (like me) to root for it for the last 20 goddamned years.

This snake oil isn't a cure all and the pet rock they sold me doesn't do anything but play dead. Screw this franchise.

We are a laughingstock and I am officially embarrassed to call the Texans my team.

WOW!!!! If the deal is as reported 2 reject defensive players, then... We now have insight on who the biggest idiot was since BOB has been here!!! Clowney signed tender I guess. No big rush to trade is there??? Keep trying to get better offer. Am I missing something??? Did Seattle threaten to back out unless we made deal?? So let them back out dumb ass. It is OK to be an idiot if you know you are an idiot, then at least you can ask for help. The danger is if you are an idiot that thinks he is smartest guy in the room. BOB and McNair birds of a feather.

Tweet from @LanceZierlein: New math formula....

Duke Johnson = JD Clowney

Sad isn't it.

I was in favor of trading Clowney, but atleast get value back. Unfortunately this cheapass franchise values salary cap space and $$$$ over the product they put on the field. It's been this way from the beginning and nothing has changed with Cletus in charge.

Unfortunately we all know what has to happen for the McNair's to sell the team and they will not have a winning franchise until the McNair's sell the team.

The question I have is, is this done or is there more meaning. We know what Miami wanted. Maybe they didn't want Clowney just draft picks so we now have a 1st round and a 3rd round next year to give to Miami. Plus maybe one of these doofus'. If this is where it ends then OMG the stupidity and he's just too dumb for words and it just tells me a lot about the franchise.

The Texans are an embarrassment to the great city of Houston. One of the best, most sophisticated football markets in the country is subjected to outright garbage year in and year out. A real NFL franchise in this city would capitalize on the passion of the average Houston football fan and understand the sacred trust that is placed in them. Instead our city is held hostage by a drunk, moron of an owner with a thin-skinned mediocre coach with a fat, lazy beat writer in Pancakes McLain who tries to justify their stupidity. The best analogy to our situation is Toronto with the Maple Leafs. I will be booing nonstop this year and will not spend a dime at the stadium for games.

Fk this organization. Not because I’m a fan of Clowney but because they keep allowing this’s joke of a head coach to make one piss poor decision after another that just keeps this team from being able to really improve. This team is stuck in mediocre mode as long as this ass hat is allowed to make ANY decisions. I’ll return as a fan to the Texans when OB is gone. I love this team but refuse to root for them as long as he is here.

But hey it saves 12 mil.

Straight up profiteering and they dont even try to hide it anymore. The McNair's could give 2 sh!ts about putting a winning product on the field.

We need to frame Cletus the drunk with a bag of coke, underage prostitute and him saying racist **** on tape like his dad so that he’s forced to sell the God damned team. **** this team, **** Pancakes, **** **** ****

Dang Seahawks got better......... we got what?

Ah well texans do what texans do best......... goof it all up.

Your reading comprehension is just not very good dude and why I pay next to nothing to what u say.

1st of all, I didn’t at all defend this move..if u read my post, & the post before this 1, I said I am not at all happy with this trade.

But I’m also not gonna lose my **** b/c of it either b/c other fans are like “see!” ...fans in general have a history of overreacting to **** when they don’t get what they want period.......See the VY saga.

Fact is, my stance has nothing and almost always has had nothing to do with being thought of as being smarter than everyone...you’re the one who seems to be consumed with that. My stance has always been about seeing what this team ACTUALLY does when the season starts...something that u and others seem to believe is going to be a train wreck before 1 down is even played.....like you thought the year before...& the year before.....& the year before.

Fact is I think you & a few others want to see this team fail so as to be proven “right”.

OB just said at some function that the rockets and astros are good but Houston is about the Texans football. Not anymore thanks to you jack ass. Hey OB You know what the difference is between the rockets, Texans and astros organizations are. Well besides the fact that they have won championships and are legit contenders right now? They go out of there way to acquire top talent while your dumb ass gives it away in the name of “for the team”. MORON!!!!!!!!

Was just thinking about that..

Dude just played in Buffalo for 3 years....ain’t a matter of want at this point for him imo..
I'm not going to mix it up over this. It's a tough morning for everyone. But, we both know McCoy is not coming to the Texans.

We got our third back from the terrible Cleveland trade. Yay.

So essentially, we traded a 3x Pro Bowler for a third down back and two fringe LBs that weren't going to make Seattle's roster this year.

Thank you, OB. I was already headed this direction but you finished the job. You just freed up my Sundays for the next few months.

At this point the best thing would be 0-16 so we can get the #1 pick and the next coach can start the rebuild

Unfortunately it appears that you're correct.

Even if this were to happen the McNair's will still own the team and nothing would really change because Cletus doesn't care about putting a winning product on the field.

A team with common curtosey would of at least thrown in a 55 gallon drum of lube to.

***** this team.
