**Official Game-Day Thread** Texans at Seahawks, Sunday Oct 29, 2017!!

From the long conversation after the play, it looks like it was an option play and Deshaun missed the read.

You know, I was wondering about this. I wonder who made the ultimate call. It's difficult to tell. This one might be on the rookie.

This **** is so stressful to lose to ******* **** teams.
I’m sorry for my cursing but y’all gotta understand where I’m coming from.
******* **** fuckery bullshit damn **** ass defense.

O’Brien you forking moron! What you weren’t satisfied with losing the NE game so you just had to lose this one too? I find you guilty of being an idiot of the first degree.

It is one thing to blow it in NE but to not put put the ball in DW4’s hands on 3rd and 4 is completely and totally inexcusable. ZERO excuses for that major blunder.

Two completely befuddling play calls are likely all that is standing between 3-4 and 5-2 with road wins over both Seattle and NE. OB better get his ass in gear and never ever ever ever ever ever do that again!

Losers lose. That's how it is. You notice the Cowboys went spread on 3 and 4 and the game on the line.

Why is everyone blaming everyone but Watson for this loss? His INTs directly led to a bunch of Seattle points. Yes. Watson is fallible. Take away either one of his 1st two INTs and it’s a different ballgame at the end.
Love the guy all you want, but at least admit to his mistakes.

You're right his plays hurt, but he ultimately made plays to put us into a position to win and OB called a BS call like he always does. How could he not know our defense would allow them to march down the field....they did it the entire second half of that game.

O'brien called a good came but blew it in the end. Live and learn I suppose.

No. No he didn't. He called a game and Watson made what he called work more often than not but any man who continues time and again to throw Lamer Miller out there to try and pound the rock for short yardage only to be stuffed short time and time again didn't "call a good game".

This one hurt. Not going to lie
Really? I didn’t feel a thing. Hate the outcome but it is what it is.

Bill O'Brien should be the one apologizing to both the team and the fans. Not Bob McNair. That's two road games he single-handily cost us. It would have been so satisfying if we had beaten Tom Brady and Russell Wilson on the road. Deshaun Watson played his heart out in both games and we let him down.

I'm pretty sure he's already gone before the cameras and accepted all the blame. It means no more now than it ever has. He does it because he has to and then he walks off thinking about the next game when he's going to do all this same **** all over again.

Hate the outcome but the team played their hearts out.

The defense looked pretty bad, but I am willing to give that to Russell Wilson playing like a fiend, just like Watson was doing. Watson's interceptions made the bigger difference in the outcome of the game then one bad series of calls, yet that was some of the best quarterback play the franchise has ever seen period.

We are now 3-4 but two of the loses where nail bitters where our rookie was dueling with a Super Bowl winning vet until the final minute. Super Bowl is obviously unlikely but anything Watson does that doesn't get him hurt and builds his knowledge for future seasons will be great. We may not be the best team in the AFC due to a number of factors but we probably got the best QB.

You have to put the ball in the hands of your best players.

Miller isn't. If that was prime Adrian Peterson or something, I'd understand.

Our best players are Watson, Hopkins, Fuller...

Get the ball to one of these guys, try to get these guys to win you the game.

On some level O'Brien knows that. Our offense wouldn't be scoring like it is or playing like it is (even behind this worthless excuse for an OL) if he didn't know it on some level. The problem is that bastard can't seem to get his head out of this moronic idea that Lamar Miller was a good signing and is a feature back. He think Watson, Hopkins, Fuller and Lamar Miller are our best players and he can't break that habit of going to him for yardage a feature back behind a good OL should be able to get.

I don't understand the blind spot here. I don't see what he can't make the connection and see how time and time again this RB and this OL's run blocking have fucked us and simply accept that he has a dynamic passing offense that needs to be let off the chain all the goddamn time.

So blame the guy thats a rookie that did MORE than enough to make up for his mistakes, not the guy that doesn't learn from past mistakes?

Nobody said Watson played a perfect game. Just so much better than most can expect from a rookie.

Without Watson we lose this like 54 - 7.

I'm sorry, did the Texans win? Watson didn't make up for his mistakes. I like the kid, but he is just as liable for this loss as any other unit of the tam.

Bigger fish to fry than Watson. His mistakes I can look at objectively and say they are a product of a rookie (albeit a phenomenal one) facing a stout NFL defense with more than a few confident veteran players waiting for him to do rookie ****. Bill O'Brien's mistakes are the kind that he should have ceased making years ago. He's a 4th year NFL head coach and he's still trotting that worthless RB out there to get yards he can't get. The mistakes of the defense have been pointed out again and again. You just can't track a game like this back to one or even two INT's (INT's he then led the team to answering TD's on) and say "Yeah, blame Watson for this one". You could say "Watson didn't help" but then you should add "But then he's a rookie and hopefully this is stuff he learns from".

You can't say "Well, maybe O'Brien will not run Miller up the gut again next week when the game is on the line and everyone in the world knows its coming because he's as predictable as they come and you know damn well that's exactly what he's going to do no matter how many times it costs us a game. You can't say "Well, maybe next week Kareem Jackson won't commit a stupid penalty to give the other team a 1'st and goal" because you know that's his MO. You can't say "Maybe next week Kevin Johnson will cover his guy better" or "Maybe Andre Hal will become a decent safety" because none of that's ever going to happen. Those guys are always going to be the same **** players they are today and they're going to keep doing it along with the rest of the scrub club in the secondary for as long as we rely on them just like the OL is going to keep killing drives and getting Watson hit until we upgrade them.

All these other fucked up things have been going on a lot longer than Watson has been throwing picks here so obviously people are going to blame that stuff first. Bigger fish.

Definitely confusion on the play and BOB didn't expect W to hand it off. It's still all on BOB for not having communicated and/or prepared for the situation. Exact same as not knowing how to use time outs at the end of the game. BOB either needs to get much better prepared for closing out games or he needs to go.

And Vrabel and company imploded
Um we know what the D is
We know what Watson is
One is handcuffed by the head coach
One shouldn't be trusted to win the game

Blame Vrabel or blame the same guy who doesn't learn from new England with watt and merciless on the field

There are bigger fish to fry in a 16 game season? I like Watson, but he screwed the Texans out of a minimum of 10 points. That's a pretty freaking big fish in a 16 game season. I'm all bad and you're all good? RACISM!!!!! I will kneel until this post is retracted and I can feel safe in my zone. Whatever that means.

Guess Watson gave me hope.
Me too. It just doesn't hurt.

A rookie QB got baited by two HOF defensive backs that led to 10 points and a defense that allows a team with no timeouts go 3 plays and 80 yards for a TD.

I really don't get DocBar's trolling about the loss.

I'm not trolling anything. Quite the opposite. I do find it amusing that all of the blame goes towards anything NOT Watson. Love the kid, but HE cost this loss, plain and simple.

Legit curious why you'd carry on (time/money invested, etc) with something only worth mockery?

My wife enjoys going to the games.

I checked out on emotional investment when I realized that the McNairs weren't serious about doing everything possible to put the best product on the field.

Give credit where it's due. Give blame where it's due. Be fair. Be honest. Be true. Is that trolling or in Texan? I think not. That is inherently Texan. I mean that about the state, not the team. Texans own up and correct weaknesses. I fully expect Watson to do just that. Watson is well on his way to earning his way toward Texan citizenship.

You were watching when the D was on the field, correct?

This isn't a black and white scenario. Watson gifted 10. The D was horrendous. OB turtled on the last drive.

There is plenty of responsibility to go around.

I didn't see the Texans D give up a pick 6. I didn't see the Texans D give up an INT in its own territory. I saw Watson do both. Either one doesn't happen, Texans win. DO YOUR JOB

Okay so if owning up is what you're all about.

How can you blame the rookie that put us ahead at the end of the game and a HC that makes horrible choices.

When the rookie left the field before horrible choices by the HC.... we were winning with under 2 mins to go... what else do you want from a rookie?

Thats not blame where its due...... sorry.

This is stupid and now you are back tracking. Owning your faults and correcting mistakes are different then losing the game. Watson made poor decisions that cost us POINTS, but in no way did it cost us the game. He actually won the game, but the defense didn't hold up their end. If anything, they lost us this game. I put co-blame on O'brien for calling a predictable run play up the gut.

10 points off of turnovers. Undeniable.

I want to play this game too!

I didn't see Watson give up 452 passing yards and 4 TDs. He also didn't allow the Seahawks to march down the field in a minute and change for the go ahead score.

Watson owns those turnovers. The D owns it's overall play this game. OB owns his playcalling on the final drive. Any one of these things goes differently and we win.

I understand your position but it's more nuanced IMHO
