Does Houston have the league's best defense? 2017 Texans game-by-game predictions, player projections and unit grades: pic.twitter.com/30y5wM3c3x
Please note, I do not endorse that chart. I consider my dart board experience to be more accurate for these long term predictions. So according to CnD's chart above, Savage gets hurt fairly early in the season? Or the Texans are 2-5 at the break.....:kubepalm:

- #Texans were the only team to work out WR Keith Mumphery in ’15. But I’ve reached out to scouts with several teams and no one knew his past.

#Texans say they are gathering information & have no further comment on their 175th pick. This info was not public until today.

Keith Mumphery expelled in 2016 for MSU sexual misconduct violation
The Houston Texans have placed WR Keith Mumpheryand ILB Max Bullough on waivers Friday, according to John McClain.
This comes just a few days after new surfaced that Mumphery has been expelled and banned from Michigan State due to a violation of the school’s relationship violence and sexual misconduct policy.
The Texans are signing both ILB Sio Moore and WR Dres Anderson. Anderson went undrafted in 2015 after sustaining a meniscus injury that required surgery and an end to his senior collegiate year. His frame also had NFL teams shy away. He has been only on PSs since.

New Texans LB Sio Moore was once fined $17,363 for roughing the passer when he hit Ryan Mallett in 2015 while playing for the Colts
why do I feel so many of team doctors evaluation of players are toss dart at a chart? Please note, I do not endorse that chart. I consider my dart board experience to be more accurate for these long term predictions.

yep and another year of that & I'm looking for trades. I am Hopkins fan but he needs to come out of gate leading the pack.

I'm don't think that Houston's medical is quite as inept as it sometimes appears to be. Like everything else their decisions, advice and suggestions are also evaluated by the Cogen Boardroom. Due to Bob McNair's "Win Now" attitude I imagine that some of the medical advice and suggestions are overridden too. This would certainly fit within McNair's modus operandi.why do I feel so many of team doctors evaluation of players are toss dart at a chart?
The problem with that conclusion is that ultimately, we as physicians/surgeons are pledged to "First do no harm." That means you do not knowingly allow your actions directly or indirectly to harm your patients.I'm don't think that Houston's medical is quite as inept as it sometimes appears to be. Very similar description, but no real experience/film following knee injury.from 2015...rotworld...seems like a taller version of fuller and wendel williams

Previous 2 seasons he was at 58% and 60%. I wonder what could possibly have happened last year that would have been different the previous two years? Let me think, let me think...
Two different teams and couldn't make the 53 man roster. Maybe third time is a charm. We shall find out soon.
Jesus Christ I can't wait for the pre-season to start. I'm tired of the BS politics in NSZ, tired of discussing Texans crap we can only speculate on, and upset no one loves the same TV shows as I do. Not to even mention the "other" distractions we've had around here lately.

If you think Hopkins only issue was Os then you were not watching games I was. We need to get real with evaluations. Of course we had QB issues and Oline and..but Nuk was not same guy he has been. Was he ticked over $ issue? I don't know but he missed passes he should have caught. That's why I hope they hold up extension until we see how Nuk does with QBs this season. He earns $ 8 million this season which is the way establishing rookie deals NFL and the players union agreed to. His "new deal" is in his hands and right where he should want it to be. Play hard and he will get paid; Texans have taken care of their own unless it is stupid money like Bouye got from Jags (5 for 67.5). Hopkins has no competition threat money wise as both Strong and Fuller tied into two and five years at super cheap dollars for WRs. Mumphrey got canned. Hopkins needs to go "hmm..lots of cap [$30 m+ 2017 & $40+ 2018 minimum]."Previous 2 seasons he was at 58% and 60%. I definitely agree, however it is usually the bad experiences we remember in life not so much the good ones or divorce rates would be lower. I assume they are hoping for something like his 2013 at Utah 53 for 1002 @ 19 per and 7 TDs...looking for lightning...Very similar description, but no real experience/film following knee injury.

The Texans didn’t waver from their assertions that Tom Savage is their No. 1 quarterback after trading up to draft Deshaun Watson in the first round of this year’s draft and the team’s OTA practices have backed up Savage’s spot on the depth chart.
Savage has been getting the majority of first-team reps as the team gets ready for the coming season and is taking steps to take further ownership of the offense. Savage hasn’t had this kind of offseason time as a starter in the past and says that it’s beneficial to getting everyone pointed in the same direction.
“When you’re a third-string quarterback, you’re not really going up to DeAndre Hopkins and telling him how you want a bow route or something,” Savage said, via ESPN.com. “Now, communication comes in and you have to be on the same page with all of them. That’s what we’re working on now. … Just repetition and stuff we’re doing after practice and extra meetings. We get a limited time and we all have to meet extra a little bit after if we want to get better. That’s what it comes down to.”
Savage has a couple more weeks to work with the entire team before the offseason program comes to an end. Training camp and the preseason will then provide a view into how well the unit has come together and how much the quarterback has solidified his spot at the top of the depth chart.

Probably posted elsewhere but compare:
Antonio Brown 5'10" 186 28 yoa Steelers round 6 2016 stats 16 g 106/1284 @12.1 12 TDs NFL 7 years
Deandre Hopkins 6'1" 218 24 yoa Texans round 1 2016 stats 16 g 78/954 @ 12.2 4 TDs NFL 4 years
1. extended Jan 2017 four years $68 m 19 guaranteed bonus first new year 2018 & roster bonus $6 m
2017 cap $ 13.7
2. 2017 cap $ 7.9 m
I posted some time ago 5 years for $75 m (15 per avg) 29 years old at end or 6 for $100 m 30 yoa (17 per avg). Up front guarantee is debatable but roster bonus annually is way to go IMO. Example $25 signing + roster bonus for 4 years (28 yoa) 2018 thru 2022 depending on previous season's production.
oh I agree and benefit of doubt + caution gives him 8 games this year then reward or trade/allow him to leave. As I said, his extension is in his own hands. I want him here but not at 954 yards. Os is goneDemaryius Thomas catch rate with Os was well below his norm. And in the same season with Peyton, Thomas' catch rate was pretty good. That's how bad Os is.
So I'm going to give Nuk a big benefit of doubt here.

Neither Mumphreys or Bullough have been claimed off of waivers.
For what? It ain't like he was such a big loss. Strong can probably do anything Mumphrey can do better anyway.Da Taxens should really look into Mumph.

Who would claim jail bait or drug bust?Neither Mumphreys or Bullough have been claimed off of waivers.
Watching the NFLN today, they showed Tom Brady at minicamp and he looked to have some right shoulder discomfort throwing easy passes. Would you trade for Brady in 2018 if he was available? The Patriots have some hard decisions to make at QB in the future. I wouldn't be surprise, at all, if BB cut or traded Brady in order to keep Jimmy G. Brissett being the Matt Cassel trade bait of the future.
I saw Brady showing discomfort after throwing easy passes. I deduced, from the fact that Brady has thrown a butt ton of passes in his career, that Brady might be developing shoulder issues and could be available for the Texans, ala Manning, in 2018. Would you take the chance? Is that what you saw. Lol
