I'm rooting for the Texans to lose today

I feel the same way. Maybe because I'm tired of the OB and Smith show. I want them both gone.

Sacrilege? "I could never root for my team to lose?"

Blow on it.

Things will happen a lot quicker if they continue to lose.

Understandable, but help me out here...

Did I miss a McNair press release stating that if the Texans finish with _ wins or less then O'Brien and Smith would be fired?

Because unless someone flat out says such, rooting for your team to lose is doing no one any real service.

Uncle Tom Rick is usually right next to both McNairs at the beginning of the game. Not so today.

How many seasons have we sucked with high picks in draft? And see where we're still at?

Getting high picks is not the magic formula to building a team.

We need to focus on building a winning culture in this organization, and you don't start that by losing games.

I'm with you. If they beat the Titans so effing what? Beating a good team means something. I would hope that a disastrous season leads to a total house cleaning but that won't happen because McNair truly loves rick smith. At this point I just feel apathy.

We need to clean house first before worrying about building a winning organization. Losing gets us a house cleaning.

Are you sure about that? Even a 2-14 finish guarantees nothing.
You are worrying about putting up Sheetrock when we don't have a foundation laid yet. This house needs to be bulldozed. We might have 2-3 guys from this team remaining after a new GM and coach come in. I don't care about building a winning organization with the losers we currently have.

Oh I agree that the house needs to be bulldozed; however, unless we are told that change will happen if certain criteria is or isn't reach then I don't understand why one would invest in rooting against their team. The unfortunate fact is that no one here knows how bad things would have to get this season to facilitate change. Until then all you can do is root for the team to do as well as it can.

I agree inasmuch that there are a few plAyers out their giving their everything to win every game. Then there are those that give a little extra effort when things are going their way, but give up when things get tough.

We need to weed out those losers as it makes it hard for the good players to carry them.

IMO it's pretty similar with the fans. There are those that will root for their team no matter what. Like the Seahawks 12th man. Created in a time of some of the most mediocre football the NFL has ever seen. But now, that fan base has created one of the few true home field advantages in the league.

My hat's off to the fans that showed up today to be that home field advantage for our team. Unfortunately, I'm not among them as I couldn't bring myself to get off my as S & get to NRG.

I wasn't trying to make a statement or anything. I had planned on going all week long. But one thing lead to another & I decided against it this morning.

Way to fall on the sword for the team. Start a new thread next game. Same premise. To be honest, exact same opening post

This thread is why I miss the neg repping system. Indy loses tomorrow & we're tied for first place. Rooting for the Texans to lose when we are still in the race for the division is shameful.

Absolutely right. Now let's start rooting for the Texans to beat the Bengals two weeks from now and leave the negative types to wallow in their own self pity.

I know it's an old attitude, but you play all out between the snap and the whistles in the field ALL THE TIME and channel all energy outside of those parameters back into those parameters.

If we do end up winning the division, chances are we'll have the worst record of all division winners. Meaning we'll play Wildcard Weekend.

Who are this year's wildcards?

Jets, San Diego? That should still be a good game eh?

The 2-6 Chargers as a wildcard contender? Not even the most optimistic San Diego fan would suggest that?

Well, the AFC isn't looking that great. I'm assuming the Raiders do their annual nosedive. Maybe should have said Pittsburgh.

Lol I love all you guys that think OB can right this ship to a division title. I love you so much. We have a prime time game vs cinci? At indi? New england? The jets? Love you all.
With every win we get further back in draft. Which means so much closer to not getting a qb and starting hoyer again.
And does anyone realize if we win this division and get stomped out in the playoffs we will be picking in the playoff pool. Your record doesn't factor into draft position when you make playoffs. Where you lose in playoffs is where you draft after non playoff teams.
Seriously I love my texans but every win means more OB and hoyer next year. They won today against a team that lost six straight and had a second year backup at qb.

I would say that's already 100% no matter which team wins the AFC South. The other three division leaders: the 7-0 Patriots, 7-0 Bengals & the 6-0 Broncos. My guess at the opponent: Pittsburgh. They have Big Ben back and they seem primed to make a run at the 5 seed. I'm not sure how legit any of the other teams are yet.

Does a loss guarantee dropping the GM (can only wish), current FO, or picking the right player in draft? Sure, MAYBE improves the chances on picking the right player... but with this FO and scout team? Really? Since they can't pick right in the later rounds anyway, just trade some of the later round picks to move up in the first round draft.

Haven't gotten the correct GM / HC combo in 13 years - is the next time the charm?

I'd rather have the win

I have no faith in Bill O'Brien. I just think there are worse teams in the league than us & I want our guys to play like winners.

Jets are playing ok right now. But if our defense starts playing like they did today from here on out, that's going to be a 50/50 game. If we're playing Geno Smith... well, things swing to our favor.

Other than that, New England & Cincy are the only good teams on our schedule.

You've either got a team of winners, or a team of losers. Doesn't matter if they got Marcus Mariota or Blake Bortles or Ej Manuel

Greenback wasn't picking in the top 10 when they drafted Rodgers. Pittsburgh wasn't among the scrubs of the league when they drafted Big Ben. While Seattle wasn't a powerhouse when they drafted Russell Wilson, they did win their division.

The 6'5" 250lb prototypical NFL ready QB is a thing of the past. The closest we've seen in a long time has had issues of late. But that's what we s

We're better off drafting the next best thing between 10 & 20 & developing him. It would be nice if we had a defense capable of winning a game on its own, & a running game that can carry an offense whilst our trainee learns to manage an offense.

I hear ya but if this team wins the division we go Into next season with OB and hoyer. Think about that.....

double whammy

Lol OBs arrogant ass will believe he can win the SB after a division with hoyer.

OB knows when a QB wont amount to anything so far he lucky cus

Teddy
Carr
Bortles
Johnny Football
Guappalo

aren't really lighting up the world

and I think half of those guys teams jumped in front of us to take half those guys

still tho that Clowney pick is looking worse and worse so yeah we screwed up 2

So when he does draft a kid do you expect him to light up the world? I mean we gonna go Into year 3 with OB and if he does draft a kid how long do we wait on the kid and OB to get their **** straight? If anything OB has robbed us of two years
