I think that with the first pick they will go either receiver or tightend. The texans need someone else to take the pressure off andre and to get open for carr.
Rd.2 The draft is so deep that a good left tackle will fall to the second round and fix our problem their.

Cause this QB puts touch on his passes. This QB doesnt lock onto WRs. This QB doesnt lock onto RBs coming out of the backfield. And most importantly, this QB knows how to win.corrosion said:Why draft another QB just to watch him get beat down behind this horrible excuse for an o-line .....They couldnt block a pop warner team![]()

Excuse me. Let me elaborate. This QB uses his legs. Has the highest completion percentage in school history. Has no great WR to go to in tight games and still makes thing happen.WildBlackBear32 said:You just described a lot of college QBs, I'm afraid you'll have to be specific. I'll take a couple guesses however because a few players fit that mold.Is this QB Jason White? Or is it Josh Heupel? Danny Wuerffel?

oso said:The Texans have a LT that was being groomed. He is being sidelined. I think Riley will be out soon, so they will go back to Wand, and he will show big-time improvements this year, if given the chance to play. If anything, Houston needs to look at the TE spot. With AJ pulling so much of the defense to him, that leaves a lot of our guys (Gaffney, Bradford, etc.) open. But having a TE to go to/provide additional blocking would be perfect. This is where the Draft can really help them.
astrofan said:why don't teams stack 8 or 9 guys in the box against Tech?
and just who is that masked OC out there anyway?
what team has the active career leader in rushing TDs?
Nice point.corrosion said:Why draft another QB just to watch him get beat down behind this horrible excuse for an o-line .....They couldnt block a pop warner team![]()

I'm thinking if we do tank the season, go OT/OT with the first two picks. One of the fab four and the big kid from BC that's tweener OLT/ORT. He'll be on today btw. I know the TE/second receiver crowd will howl, but if they end up with two premiere lineman, we'd be set for ten years. The bigest glaring weakness would turn into a strength in one draft.
awtysst said:I disagree. Here is what i would do.
If we were to get the First Pick, I would trade down to about 5-10(pick up an extra 2nd and third). With the new first rounder I would pick a premier LT. I would then take one of my 2nds and one of my 3rds, and trade back into the first round soemwhere around say 20. With this pick I would take AJ Hawk. Now we will pick again in the second round, so we can pick up another strong Tackle prospect or look to add some youth on the Dline. In the third round, we still have another pick so maybe a nice blocking TE or soem Oline help(if we go way of Dline in rd 2.)

David Carr's contract option would not have been exercised.
"The Houston Texans, with the 1st pick of the 2006 NFL draft, select . . .
Matt Leinert of USC."

Now we set both of these guys back there, they can play catch back and forth, make the defense get tired (because we all know they are going to get in the backfield anyways) and then finally throw the ball downfield past the d backs that have been chasing our recivers around and actually get some yards. Thats about all we can do with the the people we call our o line.
totally ignore my last statement. thank you.rmartin65 said:WR LTLGCRGRTTE WR

I agree that Matt will be a first pick for someone, hopefully us. But with the draft being so deep, could package a 2nd and our 3rd from New Orleans for a late first and get a stud at running back. Then draft some OL's or get some in the free agent market..Elite said:We draft matt LionHeart the fisrt round and then draft nothing O-line soince its a deep draft o-line anyways but we will have a real qb for once.
rmartin65 said:i think this:
1st: LT
2nd:OLB
3rd:TE
3rd:C
4th:MLB
5th:HB
6th:QB
7thE-OLB
I agree. But I also think we should forget about drafting collage DE and puting them at OLB. Just pick the best linbacker in the draft AJ Hawk. or Chad Greenwaygrandslam1 said:okay , who should we draft
i say we need two first round picks to get a OL and a LB
uhh forgot about wr. maybe mathis can prove he's a legit #2.corrosion said:No WR ? ..... They need another WR pretty bad .... I'd probably take one in round two ..... Other than that your list is pretty close .
