2 big problems that we need to address is in the secondary and the OLine. The DLine could use some help as well, but I think that could be easily addressed through the draft. The secondary and OLine are two areas that could really use a veteran leader so we don't have to go through the growing pains of rookies.
I'd much rather get a CB in FA instead of the draft, and if we do, safety isn't at the top of my "to draft" board. However, if it's the other way around (sign safety) we'd still have to get a CB at some point.
Even if we do get a OT and CB, there would be several other need areas. DL,FS,RB,QB,LB. That's pretty much every other position, so if we do acquire a starting OT and CB, I would just go with BPA at every spot or trade back a few spots and get an extra pick in the 2nd or 3rd. However, if brass is high on Dayne, Gado, Taylor, and expect Domanick Whatever His Lastname Is to be back, I doubt we go RB with a high pick unless Peterson drops.
1-Brian Brohm QB
2-HB Blades SLB
3-Michael Johnson FS
4-Brandon Mebane DT
Brohm gives us the poised QB we've been looking for. Blades can play SLB and is very Demeco like at that position. Instinctual tackling machine. Johnson is an up and coming FS who should be a good all around player. May not be Landry, but an upgrade over Brown. Mebane gives us a pass rush DT to play next to Mario. If Kareem Brown is still there, jump all over him.
It's not a sexy draft, but I think it's pretty realistic. No LB's or DT's worth taking at 8. Kubiak never takes RB's early and we're already stacked with them. We can take a good FS later, so the logical choice would be to upgrade at QB.
Anybody else wanna add anything?
