Which off-season moves would you like the Texans to make? (Roster/FA)

I don't doubt the acumen of Dr. Jean of reading the 'injury tea leaves' nor the incompetence of the Texans medical staff, but do we have any hard (or soft) evidence that this happened?

You can believe what everyone saw at end of the Seattle game when he got hit awkwardly and got up limping. Or you can believe what Texans PR department stated happened in a closed off practice. It’s just semantics really...

What isn’t debateable is that the OL needs to be a lot better than it was last season if Texans want to make sure their franchise QB doesn’t end up like Andrew Luck.

The Tacks thought logan ryan was gonna be a difference maker for them & Nuk ate him alive last year; Fuller has been wiping his ass with Adoree Jackson since college. So I don't think the addition of Butler is gonna change that too much as 2 of those guys still have to see the field & we know this game is about match ups. Them giving a 3rd down change of pace back stupid money to replace a guy they gave stupid money to a few years prior = Same team as last year basically. and you know we hung 50 on them with a trash o-line right?

There are several reasons the jags will likely not have a magical run like they did in 2017..most notable among those is that they still have the Bortle as their qb. They also likely won't be getting as much defensive help to aid that antiquated offense. last year they where were either leading the league or were top 5 in FF's, defensive TD's and INTS & if you watched, many of those defensive TD's came in very critical times to seal games.

Watson himself said he had to go look at film to see that he might have been injured in the game. IOW based on feel, he didnt notice any injury. Don't act like he got up with some limp that anyone other than Doc noted.

Anyway...this horse has been beaten to death multiple times.
 
I kinda blocked out the majority of the Texans season this year except for the moments that Watson was dominating opposing defenses. I do remember him limping off.
 
I'd be all over Mathieu, especially after losing the LT to the Giants. We have the money to sign him and we should go all in on trying to do that. Which of course, means they won't give anything more than a wink and a nod and a pass.

This team is so demoralizing to be a fan of sometimes.

I'm also in on the do not sign JD to crazy long term money. If it's something reasonable, sure bring him back. If not, I'd trade him if possible.

Once again, he is NOT an elite pass rusher. He's not a bad pass rusher, but he is simply not elite. He is an elite run stopper but you don't give Von Miller money to a merely "competent pass rusher" unless you are an idiot. On top of that, dude has mucho injury history. Which means - of course the Texans will open up the vault. Meanwhile, the offensive line will continue to be...well...offensive.

Texans need help at safety. As soon as Tyrann Mathieu is available, they’ll check him out. They’re expected to sign a free agent S but at a reasonable cost. They have lots of needs and will spread around their money.

If the Texans org has proven anything over the yrs, it's that things will be done a a reasonable cost. No need to spend on the best players, regardless of the cap space available.

I told you how the season was going to go last yr and unless Henderson can play LT, and the Texans knock it out of the park in the draft. The Texans have fallen further behind this offseason and that's with Henderson playing a serviceable LT.

Just curious but is it still possible for a team to trade for a player announcing their retirement? So that if they decide to un-retire, the Browns no longer have his rights.

I can't remember but I recall Barry Sanders retired from the Lions way back in the day, but he was trying to make an NFL comeback later that year and even the following two years, but he never could because the Lions refused to trade away his rights.

Joe Thomas has to be tired of all the losing. One measly win in the past two seasons. Only one winning season overall which came during his rookie year. Not to say he'd be a good fit with the Texans (from a wanting to win standpoint) - coming off our own 4-12 year, but he is good buddies with J.J. Watt and we're clearly a competitive team and likely a playoff contender when healthy. Watson being healthy is the key.

Maybe. That is... If Will Fuller can ever become reliable.
He drops too many balls and his health is also an issue.
Fuller may become a star. He may also become a bust.

You do realize, that this is just talk, right? This guy was really happy in Arizona. So why is he leaving. Because he didn't want to agree to any solution, that took Money out of his pocket - so he wouldnt agree to a paycut.

What he wants, first and foremost, is Money. Sure he might give a Team like New England a Little Bonus, but in the end, he will go where the Money is right.

If he wasn't good enough for the Ravens and their poor WR corps. I don't want to spend the money to add him to the Texans.

All of the scheming in the world won't make up for the lack of talent on this OL. Unless Henderson is a true steal.

Has Henderson ever played LT before? If not, do you know how extremely hard it is to switch from RT to LT? You make it seem as if it's easy.

Can somebody please explain Kirk Cousins' three-year, $84 million dollar contract with the Minnesota Vikings? What is the signing bonus? Somebody mentioned it was fully guaranteed. Say what!? I didn't know fully guaranteed contracts existed in the NFL.

If the Texans are looking to find a S in FA at a "reasonable cost", Tyron Mathieu won't be interested in coming here.

He posted a video and later Watson said he thought that was what happened. Regardless if the OL isn't improved you can expect it to happen again.

Analysts are saying that Cousins deal is sign of future contract especially at QB. Garoppolo's $61 m in first two years was $10 m more than if they had franchised him then Jon Gruden's $100 m changed coaching market. Despite all saying NFL is losing ratings the NFL is still cash cow and paying Commish $40 m annually on his extension (although lots tied to incentives) upset Jerry but still happening. The owners have difficult time correcting themselves. The NFL was the first 'me too' as they quickly jump to whatever new offensive or defensive scheme that seems to work.
