i voted Brown. Donald not Andre and i'll tell you why. i'm not a fan of having a thunder and lightning backfield. i feel it makes your offense too predictable. why not have a lightning lightning backfield. or dash and dash if you will. i'm not saying that we dont need a situational back for short yardage but i'd rather have Brown and then sign a free agent to back the two of them up.

That's good and all, but do you really think the Texans are going to use a 1st or 2nd round pick on a running back? Because I don't.

Again...what we're talking about here, unless there is a disaster....is a back who at most will receive ten to twelve touches per game. Unless of course you're planning on trading Slaton away Saturday. Now I'm not so pig headed not to discuss the possibility. If you're talking Rb on day one....that's what you are posting.
I could see them getting each RB around 20 touches a game optimally, similar to TEN with Johnson last year. I for one have no issue with a RB in Round 1. I think from Kubiak's previous game plans it is apparent that he wants to be able to run the ball 35-40 times a game. With an effective duo we could dominate TOP and make a huge difference on both sides of the ball. I would take Curry, Orakpo, or Raji in a heartbeat, but I don't think any will fall to us. There really isn't another defensive player that I am that impressed with this year. I'd rather take a guy that I think can contribute on Opening Day than take Jenkins with our 15th pick to be a nickel back if he's lucky.

Nice poll, Maddict5 !
Well, I voted Andre Brown in the 3rd. I think there is a high chance that he will be gone by the #77 pick. Rashad Jennings in the 3rd would probably be fine. I seem to recall some discussion in the past regarding work ethic issues related to Jennings though . . . anyone know more about this issue?
There is more to life than 40 times, but here are some for comparison:
NFLDraft Scout.com:
Andre Brown: 40 time: 4.37 (High 4.54; Low 4.32)

Rashad Jennings: 40 time: 4.59 (High 4.67; low 4.50)

NFL Combine site:
Andre Brown: 4.49
Rashad Jennings: 4.67

I'm one of those people who would like to see us draft Knowshown in the 1st if no elite defense player falls to us. However, I do not see this happening as Moreno will probably come off the board before 15 IMO, so I chose James Davis in the fourth. His stock has dropped a little but so did Slaton's last year.
I agree but I doubt Jenkins is around for our 15th. I would love to see us get either Curry, Orakpo, Raji, Everette Brown, or Malcolm Jenkins. Jenkins I think can be a good FS with good coaching, I don't know if he has the mackup ability to be an elite corner in the NFL
Ok....when has denver ever done this with two backs in the Kubiak era ? It's one guy until he's hurt or he's in the dog house. And the number is not first or second....the number is twenty five. They cannot post twenty five sacks again and expect to catch the division. And I don't care how good you believe these guys are going to be. With out the d-line production, they are DOA before they ever play a snap.

Ringer in the 4th.
lol ive read the exact opposite. that andre brown has work ethic issues. havent heard anything about jennings though
Shonn is 24 does that bother you?I went with Shonn Greene in the 2nd. He was a fantastic RB his senior year showing that he could carry the load if needed, but would need to work on his hands. Only had 8 receptions all year.
If the Texans don't want a RB in the 2nd, or want a player who can catch the ball better I will take Jennings in the 3rd. Just hope that he can go from Liberty College to the NFL without any problems.
Maybe Andre Brown in the 4th. His health concerns me.

Yup. Denver was well known for carrying only two backs on their roster. It's not like they invented the concept of running back by committee or anything. Do you ever play fantasy football? What has the general consensus been on Denver RB's? Has it been "they are a rock solid first round pick. Shanny runs his RB's into the ground." Or has it been "stay the hell away from Denver RB's. They rotate them like a carousel."
BTW it's a little hard to gauge how effective our 4 1st round DLine picks in the last 6 years are at rushing the passer when we never rush the passer.
