Interesting pick, didn’t see his name mentioned much around here pre-draft, did he fly under the radar due to where we were expecting to pick or other reasons? Seems there’s a lot of hype on socials about him, which is to be expected of most day 1 & 2 picks, but does he come in here and play LT day one? Work his way towards that through his rookie season? (They have Robinson in the building to allow this) or does he become a Guard in the NFL?

I expect another OL to be taken later today also.

Starts out at LG this season and moves to LT in 2026.

Nick said in his presser, you never know until they do it. But he’s a tackle until he’s not. I see him on the Fisher swing tackle progression in camp. If the interior is hit by injuries then they might move him inside, but I think they are planning to develop him at OT right now.

Hell no. This dude is balling to start. It’s not like he has a legit starter in front of him at LT. He is a day 1 plug and play LT

Nyet (IMHO). Like all rookies he has some techniques to clean up before he's ready to man an OT position as a rookie. I could definitely see him getting time at an OG position while he works up to tackle. Based solely on measurables, I could see Fisher at LT and Ersery at RT. Don't know that I'm right, but Fisher has the arm length (34 3/8) that Ersery (33 1/8) is missing.

The article below questions if the crew measuring arm length has changed. I've been told that for years the same person (not crew) performed this measurement. He recently retired.

Also interesting is that arm length wasn't the only measurement from the Combine that raised eyebrows. QB Jalen Milroe had his hands grow from 8 3/4-inches at the Senior Bowl to 9 3/8 a few weeks later in Indy.

Shocking shifts in key athletic measurements at NFL Combine could impact 2025 NFL Draft stock, but should they?

It seemed weird that all o-line, edge, and DL suddenly had alligator arms.

Robinson is only serviceable at best. He's a transition piece and hopefully that transition doesn't last long.
Robinson is more than serviceable. Certainly not elite, but last year he was slightly better than average, maybe in the top 40-45 %. When healthy he has started every game in his eight year career, 2018 and 2023 being the only two years he has missed significant time.

Of course, it depends on one's definition of serviceable.

I don’t know the stats or grading, but based on the eye test over the past couple of seasons, he hasn’t looked good. And significant or not, he’s only started every game in a season once in his career, in 2020. LTs are highly valued in the NFL, and if he were anything above average, he would’ve drawn more interest and secured a longer-term deal, especially at just 29. Could he turn things around and have a resurgence? Maybe. But I’m not betting on it and you're right, serviceable is subjective.

A playoff team traded for him to start.

He started 15 games as a rookie in '17; 14 games in each of '19, '21, and '22; and he started 17 games last year. I did say "when healthy" so yes, he does miss a few games most seasons. And he was suspended for 4 games in '23 for PED's.

After his rookie contract, he was franchised tagged in '21 and '22, before signing a 3 year contract.

Comedian Chris Rock once said the role of a daddy is to keep his daughter off of the pole. The purpose of the left tackle is to keep the opponents off of the quarterback.

One is funny... the other not as much.

You're messing up a good narrative here.

Robinson is a middle of the pack LT.

I think the one year prove it deal was okay with both the player and the team. If he has a really good year, he could still get another very lucrative deal to end his career.

Both actually are pretty funny since most he didn't appreciate the last guy that was very good at protecting the QB's blindside.
