Carr threw an absolutely perfect pass hit bradford in stride in the hands and he dropped it.
AND YOU ARE BASHING CARR????
give me a f'n break!
Yes Bradford should have. But throwing deep to your most inconsisent pass catcher isnt the thing to do on 4th down. You do that on 1st down. On fourth down, you try to get the first down, which they would of had if the ball would have gone to AJ. Then you throw to Bradford on 1st and 10...tulexan said:There is no excuse for Bradford not catching that pass. The ball hit him right in the hands. Just like a lot of you complain about the Texas receivers dropping balls thrown by Vince Young, Bradford is no different and should have caught that.
makes since to me.Fiddy said:Yes Bradford should have. But throwing deep to your most inconsisent pass catcher isnt the thing to do on 4th down. You do that on 1st down. You dont throw deep on 4th down at the end of a game...Runner said:Everybody's been saying throw it deep, take a chance!
We did.
Man, that was close.

4-9-JAC42 (:54) (Shotgun) D.Carr pass incomplete to C.Bradford. http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/playbyplay/NFL_20051106_HOU@JACmarkbeth said:thats the thing to do if your not down by 7 with 30 sec left and no time outs. with 30 sec left and you got a guy deep that has beat the coverage you make the play.

Don't play the game to win it, eh?Fiddy said:You dont throw deep on 4th down at the end of a game...
that was a shot to me. a damn good shot where it was ALL on bradford.Vinny said:You get the first down and give yourself a shot.

That play started with nearly a full min on the clock. You get the first down and give yourself a shot.

I'm glad we went for it and showed some guts. If only we had the guts to do that earlier in the "keep it close" phase of the game.
Bradford has a trend of dropping passes...at least I think I've seen it in the 4 years I've been watching this. You get the first down there. That was a great pass for a 3rd down..but not 4th.gtexan02 said:Vinny, I think you're wrong here, sorry to say. If Bradford had made the catch, people would be saying congratulations.

its any given sunday where a player steps up. corey had a td and several other receptions that let carr trust him a little more. but in the crunch, he didnt get it done.Vinny said:Bradford has a trend of dropping passes...at least I think I've seen it in the 4 years I've been watching this. You are giving yourself a better chance to win the game, what are you talking about???TexSon said:Don't play the game to win it, eh?
Uh, no... you are giving yourself a better chance to win when you place a perfect pass onto both of your receivers hands at the 2 yard line. A lousy first down with 35 seconds and 30 yards to go with the clock running seems a little bit tougher.Fiddy said:You are giving yourself a better chance to win the game, what are you talking about???
Did you see what we were doing the whole game??? We were throwing hitches and curls towards the sideline. You spike the ball after the AJ first down and then you do what you have done all game but instead of fighting for extra yards, the WRs need to get out of bounds.TexSon said:Uh, no... you are giving yourself a better chance to win when you place a perfect pass onto both of your receivers hands at the 2 yard line. Except of course our receivers were NOT getting out of bounds on the last drive, we had nervous lineman false starting and holding, and we never win with the keep it close and don't take any chances philosophy of Capers. You really think we would be able to matriculate the ball 30 more yards downfield in 30 seconds for the touchdown? Have we ever done that?Fiddy said:Did you see what we were doing the whole game??? And if Carr did throw to AJ, AJ wouldnt have been tackled and could have ran out of bounds...
Vinny said:AJ was a high % pass. That lob to Bradford is a low % pass. This was 4th down. it killed the game.
