Week 6 Gameday Thread: New England, not your father's Patriots

I was at that 2008 game. ******* game started at 3 degrees...finished at -3 degrees! Snow held off til the end. The ******* coldest I have ever been. Even some HARDY Packer fans I was supposed to attend with bailed at attending that one.
Remember watching that game, some commitment! Well done!

Handwarmers in my shoes! The metal benches were Frozen.
Gonna respond to you the way people ask if I want to go see my inlaws in Canada in winter at -50.

Nope.... nope... no...pehhhhh.... nuh huh.... no... no... not for all the Nikes in China. Just not gonna do it

The law of averages says that if they keep looking like champions during the regular season they will at least be in the Super Bowl at some point.
The Ravens have 2 Super Bowl wins. Considering that one came in the Brady era, they've already done well by the law of averages.

I'll take -3 over 115 heat index every day. I won't even consider visiting Houston between May and November. Heck, I usually cook more in the winter than the summer and I live in the Akron, Ohio area. I've cooked in -25 wind chills.

I agree but I took it you were inferring that they have fallen short of getting the job done during the Lamar Jackson era. I think you fully know where I was going with that post. As long as the current Ravens keep owning the regular season then they are on the right path for Super Bowl #3.

I'm rooting for Pierce, but he still has no feel for zone blocking. He's not seeing lanes develop. His long run today was made on the same pitch-out play that he relied on for chunk yardage in 2022. Eventually defenses recognize it. I hope he proves me wrong but this isn't the system for him.

No one on the OL has a feel for the game. Slowick needs to find something that works for everybody. If that means we toss it out to Pierce a time or two then we need to toss it out to Pierce every now & then.

That said he had two other good runs in the game before the big one.

& the thing I liked most about Pierce today was the yards after contact, started to look like the rookie version of DP.

What have the Ravens done, but double down on their style of play? Their weakness is coming from behind once they get down, and I don't see where they've improved there. The Ravens are built to win in the regular season. Which gets you into the playoffs. They will have to show me if they can become more.

They've underachieved during the LJ8 era IMHO.

I agree. However they have still had plenty of success only to fall short of expectations during the playoffs. The law of averages says they will break through under LJ at some point!
I feel like the league has a lot of those guys now though. Lamar, Allen, Burrow and I'd soon be putting Stroud in there too. It can't all break for them and even harder too when you're all in the same conference. Two of them can't even make it to the big game to face one another.
