You know and I know on just about every play there is someone holding. Some more egregious than others. However it is just smart to wear gloves that matches the opposing teams jersey instead of making a fashion statement. Wearing contrasting gloves will just draw attention and give the flag happy refs a reason to throw. Just my humble opinion.

I gotcha man & I understand why you were saying what u said. It would most certainly help to disguise their holding as was pointed out in the last game.

Yes sir! It's just those dad burn referees! Next thing they'll be blaming the robbers when we know it's the policeman's fault for catching them.
Breaking the rules is just my constitutional right!

I know in your first post you couldn’t pass up a good joke. I appreciate that.

After a devastating loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday night, the Buffalo Bills are no longer undefeated, but they'll look to get back on track with a game against C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans this Sunday.

Buffalo Bills at Houston Texans: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 5 game

Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who has gone back and forth between MVP-caliber play and subpar performance this season, is aiming to bounce back after a Week 4 outing that saw him complete 55.2% of his passes. That will be tough though against a Houston Texans' defense that has allowed the fifth-fewest yards in the league.

Here are our experts' predictions for this exciting Week 5 showdown.

The Bills seem to be pretty banged up so we might have a bit more of a chance than originally thought. If we don't clean up the mistakes though it won't matter.

The Texans are pretty banged up too, especially where the Bills are most effective, in the short and intermediate passing game. Look for Pitre to resemble PBurnt again.

Not a fan. I usually don't pay much attention to uniforms, but I'm not a fan of this one. There's not one aspect if it that I like. Not that it matters. The newest 2 Jersie's that I own are Foster and Cushing.
Im not a fan of any of the new looks but... I will take a good team over a good looking team any day. Its a sport, not a fashion show.

Hopefully they get things cleaned up and they give us the good team we all hoped for in the offseason. Would be a shame for us to unveil the new look only to stand at 0-1 while wearing it.

At least we didn't rename our stadium after our QB and have the owner call our team the best in franchise history only to see both suck lol.

Would think this game would be moved to 3:25. The other late games are Packers/Rams and Giants/Seahawks. Who wants to watch that?
Yea it would seem to be a stronger candidate for the late game but the Rams are the favs of the country's second largest metro while the Packers have always had a nation-wide fan base.
But I'm not optimistic about this game, while I'm very thankful it's gonna be played here and not
up in Buffalo because the Bills are likely to have blood in their eyes after that embarrassing loss in Baltimore.
What will be the mental state, the attitude of our Texans ? Who knows ?

I don't buy into stuff like that. There can be trap games along the way, but I see this as a game both teams will be up for. It's about the coaches developing a winning plan and the players executing. As usual.

Yeah, there are very good reasons for both teams to be up for this one so there's no telling how that shakes out. Hope the Texans come into it ready to start looking more like the team they can be and not the team we've been watching for four weeks.

Look for Pitre to resemble PBurnt again.

I don't think you guys understand how difficult it is to play that nickel cb position. Boundary CB's have the sideline as a help defender. In the nickel position, you have no such help and defending a WR that has a 2 way release is perhaps the most difficult thing to do from a DB standpoint. Then when you factor in all the pic plays offenses run these days, and how OC's move their #1's around to get those favorable match ups against nickel CB's, it gets really tough. He's better at the position than Tavierre Thomas was for us last year i can tell you that.........which doesn't say much b/c he was terrible............ and is back on the bench where he belongs in TB, but still.

Pitre can certainly play a little better than what he's been playing, but i'm gonna cut him some slack. Kirk, who Pitre was matched up against most times, is a tough match up for any cb & the play Kirk scored on was a classic "rub" off the smash route concept; very hard to defend.

The best way you can help nickel CB's is the same way you can with the other CB's..which is by getting home.....quickly & last week we didn't really do that.

Mixon not practicing today. And the line has moved from Texans minus 1.5 to Bills minus 1..What does this mean....Nothing
What does mean something is............

The Bills' defense is ranked 30th against the run through four weeks, allowing an average of 156.5 yards per game and the most yards per carry at 5.7. These stats show big issues with their front seven, including the young and inexperienced linebackers..........................but Stroud better watch out for.................

When things are going great, Allen is great, when **** is going sideways, he’s shown cracks…mentally that is. He’s Donovan Mcnabb 2.0 and This is the T.O. saga all over again except there will be no SB appearance for the Bills.

The Bills are trying to force Allen into a more assertive leadership role by bringing in more “team first” guys that won’t challenge him while subsequently making Diggs ……..and Ken Dorsey the scapegoats. Getting rid of the perceived “hinderance” to him truly ascending by tagging Diggs as the problem b/c of his “outburst” on the sideline last year. can’t have your skill guys emasculating your already mentally fragile franchise QB on the sideline in front of the other guys.

But show me an all time great QB who hasn’t had to deal with a “diva” skill guys. True alphas and leaders put those guys in their place. Last year when Diggs was apparently in Allen’s ass on the sideline for his **** play & doing the typical “get me the ball” routine, Allen just kinda sat there and took it….Bills brass decided that that was a bad look for Allen as the supposed leader of the team. And then there’s the narrative that Allen’s success was mostly b/c of Diggs. Had to get rid of him to “prove” Allen was going to be great whether Diggs was brought in or not..especially after they paid him all that money.

This will end badly for the Bills.

Unless DeMeco gets his **** together, and Mixon plays…this looks like a blowout to me. 38-20 Bills. I have some questions for Meco…who is having a sophomore slump of his own imho.

Why isn’t King elevated to play nickel and PR? Pitre can’t cover. He is sort of positionless, but a LB/s hybrid is probably the best fit. But asking him to play corner is dumb. Just like it was dumb last year to ask him to play deep safety.

Why is Sims still on the roster. King is clearly better then him. Sims has been a disaster. What kind of message is this sending?

You don't buy into the emotional volatility of a team from game to game ?
Well I do and I think it's a significant factor in the effort and energy a team expends
in any given game and therefor is a significant factor in a team's chances of suceeding/winning gameday.

Well, it being the Buffalo Bills....imagine the disappointment of our old QB not being able to play them this weekend.

Buffalo Bills: "It rubs the lotion on its skin...."

DW: "Done!!!!! Now the massages?!"

Week 5 with a non-division opponent? No. Fans and media may try to drive this game into the Diggs Bowl. Other than that, it's a game both teams are trying to win. That's it.
OK fine but the broader issue here, which is what I thought we were discussing, is the role
that emotion plays in football and therefor the outcome of a football game ?

I don't know what you're trying to say. You think the Texans will play with less emotion than the Bills because they won in week 4? If you want to believe that, no one is stopping you. I think that's bunk, IMHO.

If I were a ref I’d target the OLmen wearing gloves that match their opponents jerseys. They are all but saying “hey I’ve got something to hide”. Otherwise I don’t believe it’s the glove they catch, it’s the jersey being twisted off.

Well emotion can work against you…offsides, late hits, taunting, hits on defenseless WR’s, etc. Instead I believe games are decided by the winner of momentum changes…interceptions, forced fumbles, sacks, etc… momentum changes drain emotions.

If Texans can keep this close and not let Buffalo get a jump on them, they are a big chance to win this one.
CJ needs a big game as does Mixon.
I feel okay with our defense - they aren't perfect but neither are the Bills.
Gotta get down and dirty if you want to beat these guys.
This game is a real litmus test and will tell us a lot about our boys.
Go Texans!

I dunno if you ever played football, and I don't mean sandlot games but organized ball at the
scholastic or collegite level ? If you have then you know that should you get badly beaten
in a game well then if you and your teammates have any competitive spirits you are
very likely to come back in the next game looking for redemption ?
If you think that is bunk then you probably haven't played much ball, which is just fine
too.

I think emotion is a very large factor in football games, and that is especially true at the los.
Unlike say golf or bowling, emotion can and does have a lot to do with the outcome of a football game.

Probably, according to the "facts" you presented. What's the record of teams the following week that have been blown out by 20+ points? Any facts whatsoever to support your position, or just what you remember from high school?

Emotions are a very big part of golf. I watched an interview of Tiger Woods' caddie and he said he would tell Tiger a shorter yardage when he knew Tiger was amped up and hitting longer shots than he normally would.

Good story Doc I like it.
Now I do remember of personally getting upset on the golf course and throwing a club farther,
sometimes much farther than usual after a bad shot.

And what memories do you have from HS football ?
