Y’all are missing my point. I was just simply throwing out there a thought. A thought that will surface if he’s fired.Yep, Lovie & co have been losing better than anyone else. That's gotta lead to good things right?

Rinse and repeat until you get it right ... so... yeah. The fan base been wishing they would clean house dating back to when they fired Kubiak and kept Rick Smith. Rinse and repeat right. That front office will never learn. Now they’re really in a F’d up predicament.
That doesn’t matter, that situation is still fresh. Watson was still a Texans last season as well.Watson hasn't been in the building for 2 years. I had been to every game for 18 years. When they don't win, the stadium is empty. Unless opposing fans are packing in. I recall a Christmas Day game with Pittsburgh where it was 85% Steeler fans. If only Cal was just half as embarrased by that as I was.
The Watson stuff may play a part but that's just a small part in a long line of stuff they've screwed up. He isn't THE reason the stadium is empty. It's becasue the team sucks and no one trusts the owner or anyone down the line. And frankly they have no reason to as they've been about as incompetent as it gets.
They haven’t learnt yet. They’re not cleaning house like that. They will keep CaserioRinse and repeat until you get it right ... so... yeah.
Learn from mistakes and move on...... don't just settle cause... "opps we did it again".
You are completely wrong & thinking like a Texan. Anything is way too much to payActually it wouldn't be that big of deal, shouldn't take too much capital to move up to ONE from TWO.
Dunno what you mean by that you need to elaborate. You are completely wrong & thinking like a Texan. Anything is way too much to pay
I couldn't care less about Caserio. I haven't seen enough to convince me either way he is a savior or villian. That doesn’t matter, that situation is still fresh. Watson was still a Texans last season as well.
They haven’t learnt yet. They’re not cleaning house like that. They will keep Caserio
Yep that's a better scenario for us but it may not happen that way, so we need to take the hand we've been dealt and move ahead. It would be even less of a big deal with a loss Sunday and they don’t have to give up anything.
That's a fk'd up designThat was by design
Brother it still would look even worse firing two minority head coaches. They set them up to be the fall guy. That crap didn’t set well with the league when Flores field his complaint and sued the Dolphins for tanking then firing him. That’s what I’m talking about
Rewarding failure would look even worse if you have to give a sh!t about what outsiders thinkBrother it still would look even worse firing two minority head coaches. They set them up to be the fall guy. That crap didn’t set well with the league when Flores field his complaint and sued the Dolphins for tanking then firing him. That’s what I’m talking about
Saw that with every pro team Houston has hadLOL The empty stadium is because they lose. Period. End of story.
Or you must long for the OB era.Rewarding failure would look even worse if you have to give a sh!t about what outsiders think
what part do you not understand? That giving up anything is too much? Or that thinking it's okay to do so is Texans-like?Dunno what you mean by that you need to elaborate.
You said clean house and that should mean everybody has to go. If not they’re rinsing and repeating.I couldn't care less about Caserio. I haven't seen enough to convince me either way he is a savior or villian.
I want the entire coaching staff gone. IF Caserio gets the ax as part of the house cleaning at worst its collateral damage at best its necessary for success.
I am convinced that Lovie and his team are a hindrance more than an asset.
Anything less than cleaning house (with or without Caserio gone)...will lead to a slightly more shiney version of this season... which.... polished or not I don't value turds.
Brother it still would look even worse firing two minority head coaches. They set them up to be the fall guy.
I agree. Caserio should go down with this rust bucket. But Cal needs someone to hold his hand thru the process. You said clean house and that should mean everybody has to go. If not they’re rinsing and repeating.
That’s exactly how the media will spin it. Did you not see the reaction to Flores getting fired? Did you not see or hear him blame that organization for tanking. Didn’t you not see or hear all the rumblings about minority head coaches.Wtf?????
I don't know why anyone is paying attention to skin color rather than performance, but I'd praise the Texans for giving more opportunities to minorities then most teams.
Truth is, Culley and Lovie never had a chance because of what ob left behind. Neither had/have shown direction and both were picked because no legitimate hc wants to be here. Still, they were given a chance.
No one set anyone up to be a fall guy. Your desire to believe that reflects your own prejudice. I'm not sure if you've just become a Texan's fan or recently woke up from a "kill bill" coma still sticky with Vaseline, but every coach we hire no matter their race becomes a fall guy.
Good grief y’all act like this crap isn’t real.
I don't think so when they can sit pat and get Stroud
If Lovie and staff is back next season these draft picks will matter. You need more talent correct? Having more talent does strengthen your possibilities of success correct? Wasn’t the goal for this past season was to lose? Therefore we should grade Lovie and staff on the curve system correct?
& then we'll start our rebuild in 2024I think next year is going to be another tank unless we hit on several studs. I think at minimum Pep needs to go..
Empty stadium because of the Watson situation. They lost a lot of fans because of the way they handled him. Jokers still believe they set him up because he demanded a trade. So imagine firing another minority head coach. They might as well sell the team if they do that.
We’re all tired of losing but I remember you said they were tanking these past two seasons. So let’s see if he can help turn this ship around. Put some talent on here with an elite quarterback and let’s see what it do. He’s been in a super bowl right and with a below average quarterback.
Do you know how bad it would look if they fired two minority coaches in a row. They will say they used them to take the fall.
And as I said.... if Caserio goes Im still happy... he just isnt the main one I want to have a target on his back. You said clean house and that should mean everybody has to go. If not they’re rinsing and repeating.
If I was in charge it would be.I think next year is going to be another tank unless we hit on several studs. I think at minimum Pep needs to go..

8 seasons? You're probably right.... but when we are riding the "Next year is Lovies year" train to another season of failure for the 8th season in a row..... the fan base will wish we had cleaned house now rather than a #1 pick that may... or may not be a bust for 2023.
I for one won't be one believing that one more season under Lovie is all we need. I've seen far too much of a pattern for reveling in mediocrity to want to go one more round of "Rebuilding to mediocrity." as the promised land.
How many teams, and who, will be willing, and can afford, to pay the price of jumping to #1? Any team so inclined will first approach the Texans to see if there is a more affordable deal there. Only if the Texans say no will they approach the Bears. If the Texans want to trade down, they are in the best spot to do so.Which is what will happen.
Excellent post. And as I said.... if Caserio goes Im still happy... he just isnt the main one I want to have a target on his back.
IE:
If Caserio stays, but Lovie and company goes. I'm happy.
If Lovie stays Caserio goes. Im not happy.
If Lovie/Caserio and the rest are gone I am more than happy.
I am indifferent to Caserio but I don't care for who brought him here, Im not convinced he is the solution so in an ideal world he goes too...(because like Lovie if he isnt the solution for our future, no readon to keep him). but it is unlikely Lovie goes, let alone the entire building so........ I simply don't believe Caserio is the biggest hinderence, doesn't mean I really want him spared.
I've just come to expect that the Texans won't fully do what they need to do... so one needs compromise with their expectations or face inevitable disappointment.
No this is not a troll post. But of course you missed the point because y’all don’t want to talk about this type of stuff. You're trolling us right?
Cal needs to take his medicine for making a bad decision in hiring Lovie. No this is not a troll post. But of course you missed the point because y’all don’t want to talk about this type of stuff.
I said minorities. The Latino population runs heavy with this team. If you look at those fans that were picketing behind what happened with clown boy. The vast majority was Latino. But this wasn’t even about race. I was just saying it would look freaking bad, in which it will. And watch the media spin it as if Lovie was the fall guy.
Yes sir winning cures all. Next season might be the same so the stadium will be empty again.Cal needs to take his medicine for making a bad decision in hiring Lovie.
The Latinos will be back after they start winning again. Houston has always been a front running sports town.
Funny thing is most of those fans are kicking soccer balls instead of throwing footballs in the parking lot and wouldn't know a touchdown from an offsides. They were there to be seen
I can see the Texans retaining Lovie if tanking is what they plan on doing for a number of reasons. Sure would like to see us get a more innovative OC especially if they plan on drafting a QB this year. I’m like you in that I’d wait til 24 to go after a QB. I’d build up the trenches with nasties on both sides of the ball. I do also wonder about Williams maturity after the finger painting incident prior to the Utah game. His talent is pretty evident. I’ll be watching Penix and Maye closely next year..If I was in charge it would be.
If they hit on Young and add 4 or 5 starter level players in the draft, I could see 6 -7 wins, depending on the schedule. It would be fools gold for the we're on the right track crowd, but hey, they would be entertained and that's all that matters to them, not championships.
Yes sir winning cures all. Next season might be the same so the stadium will be empty again.

I remain of the opinion that both Culley & Lovie were both hired princibly because they are black, so in other words they were hired because of extenuating circumstances beyond Casserios control. And as I said.... if Caserio goes Im still happy... he just isnt the main one I want to have a target on his back.

Iwouldn't be surprised if they already have a deal in place with the Bears to trade up to 1-1 if the Bears/Colts both lose. This year, like last year, the Texans will F up the #1 pick in the draft. It's the Texans' thing to do. However, Sunday will be a real Toilet Bowl. Indy will do everything it can to prevent a division rival from getting the #1 pick, if they have anything to say about it.
So you want him to continue to be the fall guy. GotchaI can see the Texans retaining Lovie if tanking is what they plan on doing for a number of reasons. If it means building the trenches in the next draft and drafting Williams or Maye in 2024 then I'm totally on board with this.So you want him to continue to be the fall guy. Gotcha

I don’t want him to be the fall guy. I actually have a lot of respect for the man and like him. I would have no problem with him being in the front office. Time may have passed him by on being a head coach. I would love to see Demeco get a chance. Maybe he could bring an innovative oc with him. I personally think the team may tank again in 23 in order to shore up the team unless they come out of the box on fire regardless of who the coach is.So you want him to continue to be the fall guy. Gotcha
I was referring to the era we will be entering if we don't get rid of Lovie now...it will be another long drawn out process just like the 2 decades you refer to.8 seasons?
I would say more like 2 decades and counting.
Why? What would this accomplish? Texans are guaranteed, at least, #2 and one of the two premium QB's, if that is what they want. Or one of the two best defensive players, if that is what they want. Losing to the Texans is exactly that - losing to a division rival. Now, losing may have value in the draft order, but this has nothing to do with the Texans.... Indy will do everything it can to prevent a division rival from getting the #1 pick, if they have anything to say about it.
Not likely. There's little value to be gained. And if Lovie is fired next week, the next HC will have his say on the Texans first pick.Iwouldn't be surprised if they already have a deal in place with the Bears to trade up to 1-1 if the Bears/Colts both lose.
I don’t believe they can afford to tank again. Winning four or less just won’t cut it. The mission should be winning and winning your fan base back.I don’t want him to be the fall guy. I actually have a lot of respect for the man and like him. I would have no problem with him being in the front office. Time may have passed him by on being a head coach.
