Week 13: Texans vs Jaguars

To me Tunsil is the face of our problem. When you pay someone that much and don't hold them accountable, you're telling everyone on this young team that he is the standard. Practice (or not allegedly) like him, study film like him, in game discipline like him... It's so bad that last week an announcer said "I thought we were going to get through the game without the standard Tunsil penalty".

Sigh. Stover might be a worst blocker than Schultz. On the previous play, he didn't block long enough before slipping out for the checkdown. On the next play, he barely blocks the defender.

If you want to protect the QB, don't make his signal the "defenseless position". It is dumb AF to have his signal be a football move. You're begging people to get hit that way. Whenever the qb slides and we watch it in slow motion, there is a debate about where the slide starts. That's with the benefit of 30 camera angles and slow mo. If you want to protect the QB let him take himself out of the play with a signal that doesn't involve a) making himself vulnerable or b) look like a football move
Slide with foot first is not a "football move" and much easier to be seen on the field than a hand signal or arm fair catch.

Announcers being rightly derisive and mocking of the stupid kickoff rule, all the while ———the perceived dirtiness of the slide tackle situation.

Please.

Overregulation is alllllll yours bruh.

They are not independent of each other.

For how disciplined and a sure tackler Ryans was as a player, he is a terrible teacher and coach to these guys. They are horrible tacklers. To'oTo'o with a weak attempt and not wrapping up

I think that should stand as incomplete. The tip of the ball hit the ground as he was trying to get his hands under it

I didn't say it is a football move, I said it looks like one. If you need evidence of that look at the number of people hit while sliding every year. It puts the ballcarrier in a defenseless position. If you don't think one hand signal is enough, have him drop the ball and immediately put both hands up... Anything has to be better than putting himself in a defenseless position that isn't really that different from a football move.

He tried to get the ref to call it though. LOL

Yeah, of course he did. Because they can often successfully lobby because everything's been muddled and all you have to do is appeal to emotions and maybe you'll be successful.

Same with receivers calling for flags every two seconds.

This is the fruits of the labor that the league has put in to....make the league worse.
