DD doing it all today. I want to win this game badly, but I don't want to lose that #1 pick!

i want to lose untill the last game and then have a 1 game cushion for the last spot. then kick jax a33 and keep them out of the playoffs.

Herv, give it up. If the Texans were one player away from being a good team, I'd be all over Bush, but they're not, period.

If we had even an "adequate" line, I'd love to see him become the second-coming of Barry Sanders, but that place isn't in Houston.
I don't want to beat a dead horse but the Oilers had a marginal line when we drafted Earl. We weren't one player away then either...but we sure had a great run with him.

someone tell me something. How in the hell is the thing that Peek did earlier to Boiler different then what they just did to Carr.

It would be generous to call THIS line marginal though.

o-line has looked better at pass blocking in second half, but worse at run blocking. We have not had one complete game this entire year!

Wasn't Mike Holovak(sp?) the draft guy responsible for the Matthews/Munchak/Steinkulher selections? Give Herzog credit for busting up sportswriters.

Give what up? I dont' care what you think and I'm not trying ot convince you of anything. I'm just saying what I think. Am I supposed to give that up?

Time will tell whether I'm right or not. For now I'm watching our running back who doesn't need to be upgraded play. He had about a hundred yards in the first half. He's got about 10 since then.

Let's see....Reggie Bush and Earl Campbell. One of them runs around the line of scrimmage and the other one just runs over the entire front 7....and then the safety. Yeah, very much the same.

It takes teamwork to be the worst team in the NFL. One guy can't do it alone.

I guess that's why we don't play our bench players - because our offense operates like a well-oiled machine.

I'm not comparing them to each other...just noting that if you have a superstar in hand it's tough to trade him for 3 servicable starters. I could have used Barry Sanders or Eric Dickerson...but this is Houston so I went with Earl.

i think they are talking about the type of impact each player has on the team could be the same. not that they are the same type runners.

Well, the entire team seems to be doing their best to lose this game. We dominate the second half - but do we score? Of course not - can't win - gotta get that first draft choice

"Zog" was in charge at the time, that's all I meant. Holovak worked for him and the coach of the moment was just his latest hired "Bobo". Yeah it was Holovak's brain but it wasn't like he needed to be a super genius to make those selections. We needed a line and those guys were amazing.

Nobody ever talks about how the same front office (mostly) and talent machine missed on running back after running back later on. Mike Rozier, Alonzo Highsmith, Lorenzo White. All "no big deal" kind of backs.

Ya, somebody please tell me he didnt just compare Reggie Bush with Earl Campbell?

Give up pontificating your OPINION as a FACT, that's what. Other than that. we're good.

If you'd step down off that high-horse for a minute and re-read my posts, you'd notice that I never said DD didn't need to be upgraded. What I DID say is that we have more pressing needs than RB.

Considering all the "experts" are as split as you & I are on this issue, there's really no telling what the "right" choice is.

the oilers brought in a lot of talent over the years. talent wasnt usually a problem for them.

If we would have tried to pass on that last play, Carr probably would have been sacked 15 yards deep keeping us out of field goal range.....9-7 Texans:texflag:

I'd rather win. But that's just me.

Hope they don't decide to become less super-conservative and go for it. The FG will give us the lead, and with the crappiness of Baltimore's offense, it could very well be enough to hold them off. Unless our real defense shows up soon

EDIT: 9-7! Hope we don't blow this one too

True... but it seems we are in "play to not lose" mode, which always makes us lose....
