Wear White Sunday!!!

It's LIBERTY WHITE KICKOFF!!!
Sunday, September 9.
Wear White.
Go Texans!!!

All of my liberty white jerseys are players who are no longer with the team. Sharper, Glenn, Carr, Davis/Williams. Which one should I choose?

You can take the name off any of the jerseys and have no name if you want to alter them.
That's what I did with my Glenn jersey.

The Texans screwed this up. It should be Steel Blue day, since the Chiefs are red and white. I'm wearing blue!

So help me understand. Is it better to wear any white shirt or your color (red, blue) texans gear?

Stay away from Red. White is best, but like Gma said - Texans screwed the pooch on this one. Target & Academy usually have Texans T's for ~$12 if you want to get a white one.

If it is Liberty White day, you should wear white.

The problem with Houston as fans is we don't do things like other fans do.

It would be nice to have ALL white jerseys/shirts, with the seats filled before player announcements, and everyone being loud and proud. It just won't happen in Houston.

Maybe we will get better at it as the team does well.

Sorry Ted. As the Texans begin to do well, Houston fans (not all of course - there's a lot of folks like us) will show up later and later. See the Rockets.

Wear white. Even though I think Surrender Sunday is a totally lame gimmick.

On Liberty White Day and Battle Red Day, always choose the color over wearing team apparel. The point is to have the whole stadium looking uniform. My desktop has Petey in battle red in the sea of Bull Pen fans. Only a couple of fans weren't wearing red, and it looks bad.

My other half did NOT want to buy a white Texans shirt, but he got lucky when they passed out free ones at training camp. I bought one at Academy last year for the same occasion.

White it is, I have to take my son to Academy to buy cleats - looks like they will be very expensive cleats (I have to slip it by my other half).:user:

I've got to admit, from a guy who has never ever liked the all white unis, the Texans actually looked pretty sharp in them last year. I wouldn't want them to switch to it permanently, and other than that game and battle red day, I wish they'd wear the blues for all other home games.

Gimmick or not, I think it's a cool idea to try and get the stadium all white, all blue or all red. I think that actually may be an original idea. Well, at least a twist to that idea. I know team's fans have dressed one color at games before, but I don't know of any who do 3 colors.

And when the team starts winning, the fans will get with the program.

Some of us aren't swayed by marketing decisions that give us FIVE home unis.

What I don't get is "Liberty White Day", like the white jerseys are special...expect for the other 3-4 times they wear them this season.

ohhhhh, they have white pants now, so that makes all the difference...not.

I'm going with my steel blue custom authentic. No way do I blow $200 on a jersey only to skip wearing it so I can wear a t-shirt to make sure I'm color coordinated.

Nobody cares what us goat herders wear up on the mountain anyway... :shades:

I can't....I dont own a liberty jersey. Gonna have to rock the battle red andre. Sorry guys.

Nothing to apologize for, IMO. I hate the strength of the marketing department that this team seems to display. Maybe I'm old school, but teams should have official home and away jerseys, IMHO.

why do we not have a specific home jersey or away like we where blue when we are home and away same as white?

Good question, and one I've never figured out in five seasons.

I have a huge Domanick Davis jersey. I've lost a lot of weight since I bought it and it's almost a dress on me. I think I'll wear a black shirt, it's close enough.

I don't see this as a marketing ploy....I see it as an attempt to get the fans coordinated. The stadium will look great "whited out". As fans it's a way to support our team while intimidating (hopefully) the opposing team. Houston is horrible when it comes to these things. There are still people cheering when we are on offense because they get excited when we are trying to score. This is another way to support your team and it doesn't require any effort - not even a towel waving. I for one am happy to do it.

:texflag:

Bottom line is this:
Wear something white.
Even if it doesn't have Texans logo, wear a white t shirt and Texans blue cap, just wear a white top.

If you are worried about it not being Texans logo shirt, jsut make alot of noise when the defense is on the field and after Jacoby takes a punt back 83 yards for a TD!

It looks so cool when a home crowd supports their team in wearing the color of the day.
Aggie 'maroon outs' and 'white outs' at Reed Arena have looked very cool in the past.
Make Reliant THE place to be on Sundays(and a Thursday in December) this Fall and Winter.

Besides, it's WHITE. It's not like anyone has to spend extra money on it. Undershirts are white. Free t-shirts from everywhere are white. It's easy - why be a jerk about it?

why do we not have a specific home jersey or away like we where blue when we are home and away same as white?

I think it started because of the heat...white jerseys for home on during the first part of the season - blue for the later part..

That's outdated now, though, because of our 80 degree closed-roof rule at Reliant. I think the blue jerseys should be the permanent home jerseys.

As for away jerseys, the home dictates. So more times than not, the Texans are wearing their white jerseys away, too. That's a wholelotta white and not much blue.

Ok so this means that when we meet up and I have on my CARR blue jersey, it's all good? Cuz, that's my option.

I could care less. Wear a Boselli jersey, doesn't matter to me.

I'm not doggin' anyone that wishes to participate. I just don't like being dogged because I like my steel blues, and it is still team colors.

I'm there to watch a football game, and to be honest, the only part about the crowd I care about is if they're yelling and being quiet at the right times. The team doesn't play better because we color coordinate. It is a fan thing, though, and I'm cool with team spirit (I've worn a hardhat to every home game since 19-10).

But...I am the Antipop, going against the grain until the day I drop. :howdy:

Personally i love wearing my Texans jersey to the games, only time i get a chance to wear it here in SA, and i don't want to wear a damn white t-shirt when i want to wear my Texans jersey and that jersey happens to be steel blue...That doesn't make me any less of a fan....I will scream my lungs out, not be able to talk for 2 days, and it will all be for my TEXANS...So anyone else and their opinions, i really don't care...

The "all one color" day will never work at Reliant, so it's not gonna really matter what anyone wears. To many yahoo's that choose to wear anything BUT red white or blue. If you don't believe me, just wander through the club section.

the thing is, i only get to go to a few games...and I am not going to not show my team support by not wearing one of my jerseys to the game when I get the chance. Great that the marketing department wants us in white...i think its a neat idea...but the reality is, I've got 7 texans jerseys, and none of them are white. I've got 3 steel blue andre's, 1 steel blue dominic davis, 1 battle red andre, and i gave my original Houston Jersey and my Sharper jersey to my girlfriend. Given that its the chiefs, and I don't want any confusion as to where my loyalties lie, Im rocking a steel blue andre.

why do we not have a specific home jersey or away like we where blue when we are home and away same as white?

A lot of teams have gotten away from the strictly "Dark at home - White on the road" since teams were allowed to use alternate jerseys. It gives them more flexibility for marketing angles. (i.e. Liberty White day, Battle Red day, Steel Blue day - new last year). Besides, would you want to wear a dark jersey in the middle of September in either Texas or say Florida - Brutal!!

If you want, blame the Cowboys. If they hadn't insisted on wearing their white jerseys at home, other teams would not have countered by wearing white at home and making the gurls wear their blue jerseys on the road. I remember a play-off game in the late 70's where the Eagles wore their white jerseys at home and beat the gurls. Other teams picked up on that and there ya have it...

Well I'll be sporting the blue. Don't much care what it looks like on TV anyways, won't be watching it there.

IT'S NO PINK, IT IS SALMON!

I will not surrender and show white. Steel Blue is the color of my jersey. My Popcorn Lungs will be spitting fire at the Chiefs in lieu of fierce Liberty White apparell.

Go Marketing! :texflag:

I don't know...This looks like it is PINK...

Its no different. Those who dont wear red on battle red day are probably the same ones most likely not to wear white on Sunday.

While I don't gripe when the roof is open, there is definitely a reason that I wear my Liberty White jersey all the time.

This will be hard for Dante, he only wears black sox, and boxers, not tighty whitey's!

Some of you people just don't get it. The Texans, the team you supposedly support, are promoting a day to open the season with Liberty White Day. Put aside your pettiness, superstitions, selfishness or "i wear blue to every game" mentality and SUPPORT the Texans.
Wear white.
It can be a plain white t shirt for crying out loud, but wear white on Liberty White Day
Wear blue on Deep Steel Blue Day.
Wear red on Battle Red day.
It's actually a pretty simple concept.
Go Texans!:texflag:

Hey, for those white (caucasion) folks out there, just take your shirts off...

Would that be considered wearing white on Sunday?

Had to post it... sorry...

This is true... it doesn't have to be a Texans Jersey... but if you have one, go for it! if not, just get a general T-shirt from Wal-Fart or Target... as long as it isn't a Cowpoke shirt, it will work!

SUPPOSEDLY SUPPORT?? What ?? I have season tickets, that is support, I bought a jersey, that too is support. It is Blue, and well I would rather support them that way since I did pay for it than to wear a white T-shirt that doesn't symbolize anything Texans at all. So I support the Texans as much as the next guy, and well I do understand the teams marketing ideas, I bought a blue jersey and I am wearing a blue jersey, if you want to wear white or red or blue on that given Sunday, great...that is YOUR choice, so don't come here saying that we don't get it, WE do..!!

Enjoy the game !!

I understand where you guys are coming from... and its a free country. But its all in the spirit of the game. The stadium would look awesome if everyone stuck TOGETHER and wore white.

You don't get it. We are all fans. We support our team. The marketing department doesn't define us. Id rather proudly wear my favorite players jersey to my teams stadium then wear a plain white tee shirt that doesn't mean anything. Get over yourself. We paid our hardearned money for merchandise, we are going to sport it proudly. we SUPPORT our team..don't accuse us of being lesser fans because we don't adhere to your dress code.

I'm with you on this one Hobie....

PSL's $1,800.00
Season Tickets & Parking $1670.00 x 6 seasons = $10,020.00
Food/Beer for tailgating (average $100.00 x 52 home games so far) = $5,200.00
Food / Beer in the stadium (average 30.00 x 52 home games so far) = $1,560.00
Road Trips to Cincinatti and New Orleans = $1,500.00
Texans gear (including a white $230.00 jersey, chairs, etc.) = $1,000.00

Total = $ 21,080.00 (plus incidentals not mentioned). Thats pretty damn supportive to me.

To promote days like this, the Texans should anty up and give out t-shirts to the first 40,000 (or so) people that show up. So, you'll excuse me if I pass on running out to buy more gear.

I once wore red shorts (with my white jersey) on Battle Red Day - does that count???

Some of you people just don't get it.

Perhaps that road goes both ways. :howdy:

The Texans, the team you supposedly support,

Nice way to call out fans because we don't color coordinate our clothes with marketing.

If people are wearing TEAM COLORS, I don't see a problem.

The team wears white jerseys for 3-5 home games a year. The only difference with "Liberty White Day" is white pants. Are you wearing white pants to the game?! If not, I'd have to wonder if you truly support this team according to your standards.

Agree with both of the above posts.

I am Antipop, the man you will not stop.

Cmon guys... last time I checked a white Im a Texan T was like 20 bucks. For die hard fans like us... I am sure thats not going to kill anyone.

Its just looks that much cooler when all participate... thats all.

But to each their own.

im just tired of people on this board trying to bully you into their utopian vision of a fan....

if you don't think like this,....your not a real fan

if you don't wear a white shirt...your not a real fan

Geez. Its like elementary school peer pressure, and im sick of it. Im a grown ass man who is going to wear a steel blue jersey to a texans football game. I double dog dare ya to make an issue about it to my face
