Wear White Sunday!!!

It did look cool but a little weird. I never really consider white as one of our primary colors for some reason. I hope the Texans ask fans to wear all red or all blue at some point this season. I think that would look even better. Besides, when fans ask which color(s) they identify the Texans with, it's probably going to be one of those two.

Your wish has already been granted. "Deep Steel Sunday" is the next home game vs Colts on 9/23. "Battle Red Day" is 12/13 vs Broncos.

Gotta say that I love the Red the best. It just looks great. I'm sure they chose the Broncos game for Battle Red Day since it with be Thursday night Prime time. Red seems to look really good on TV.

As far as the white today - I thought it looked good, but the white towels waving gave off a greater effect imo. Props to the Texans for those. Wonder if we'll have blue ones for the Blue Game....

i ended up buying a white demeco jersey at the stadium....the spirit was just too festive. Love the free towels too. I have no voice right now. I screamed it all out.

It just amazes me how ignorant the Texans marketing dept can be. They choose ALL WHITE for the Chiefs, who's color's are red and white, and ALL BLUE for the Colts, who's colors are blue and white. Ive been to the RCA dome to a Colts game, and believe me, it was all blue. A little lighter shade of blue, but BLUE none the less. Intimidating??? NOT!!!!!!! We have TWO battle red days, one of them should have been the Colts game. JMO!!

I don't have a problem with wearing white against the Chiefs. Red is their primary color to begin with. The Deep Steel Blue day against the Colts is dumb however.

I agree SheTexan. It's so obvious to us fans, I have to wonder if certain aspects of the front office are just out of touch with the Texans fanatics and faithful.

We are going battle red for....the Broncos. It just doesn't make sense, IMO.

Here is what the crowd looked like at kickoff from my seats. Most everyone was in white. I wore off-white myself....but then again, I'm colorblind.

Actually it makes perfect sense to me. The Texans have not been on primetime and we are against the Broncos and so they want to make a huge statement on.

But the others I have to agree on.

I can understand the primetime thing, and battle red looks really good. BUT, I'm a little tired of the Bronco connection. It's like the media wants us to have this BIG rivalry with the Broncs due to Kubes. I don't get it really. A primetime game would have been much better against a divison rival, or at least an AFC opponent. JMO

Orginally the battle red days were for division rivals. Now it's because primetime and we want to look good.

See the difference is the first is special and for team spirit against one of our rivals, the second is purely for fashion. We have no rivalry with the Broncos.

Well, there's a nice picture on the Texans website of the Andre Leap after his TD; http://www.houstontexans.com/gallery.asp?section_id=321#

Now, see the kc dufus in red, that's why you don't wear red on LIBERTY WHITE DAY...see the Texans fan in blue, he's happy, he's cheering for his team, and he's wearing blue. That's his choice, it's cool but it sure would be a lot cooler if he had been wearing white on LIBERTY WHITE DAY.

It's not a matter of a 3rd grade spat, 'I'm a better fan than you are so nananana'..get over yourselves folks. We all cheer on the Texans, that is the most important thing, that you are in your seats and making noise at the right times. It's that the Texans ask us to celebrate the oen of the most special days of the season, Opening Kickoff, by wearing a white to be in unison with our team on the field. It's a unity, bonding, thing.

So my advice to everyone, wear DEEP STEEL BLUE on Sunday, September 23!
Go Texans!!!

To some people it is, and that is who I've been directing my points to. I've heard fans calling other fans "lesser" or "losers", and sorry, no amount of theme day posing is going to justify that kind of behavior in my book. Those people do need to get over themselves, but as long as they post on these boards and call talk radio with that nonsense, I'll be battling it out for the regular guy.

Hey, the team won in spite of a few battle red and steel blue jerseys. Imagine that. :winky:

p.s. YOU are the guy that posted "the team you supposedly support", so perhaps you should follow your own advice.

FWIW, the head coach was in blue.:winky:

Look, when you have things like this, wear all white or red or whatever, you're not going to get all 70,000+ fans to do it. I saw plenty who weren't wearing white, hell I saw plenty who weren't wearing anything Texans or sports, but the stadium still looked pretty white to me, in person and on the tape I just watched a couple of hours ago.

Yeah, it's a marketing thing, but it has no effect on how the team plays. There's NO intimidation no matter what color you wear. The intimidation comes from screaming your ass off, causing false starts and such.

I don't get all this talk about the Texans should wear this color against this team and so on. Although I love the Texans colors, I honestly could not care less what color they were wearing as long as they win football games. This is kinda like the roof open or closed discussion. I'm not there to look at the stars, the blue sky, the rafters, the fan apparel, whether the grass is growing or not, or to look at a little hand held kangaroo tv device when I'm in that stadium. I'm there to watch the Texans, in whatever color jersey they're in, hopefully kick the crap out of the guys who aren't wearing that color.

I realize that this is a message board and is the place to discuss stuff like this should you choose, but really, 3 pages of this? Really? And then questioning how much of a fan someone is because they wear whatever they want to?

How 'bout just let people be fans the way they want to be fans, not the way you want them to be? That way you won't have to start another 100+ post thread when I'm leaving my blue jersey at home and wear the white one on Deep Steel Sunday against the Colts. Why? Because I want to.
