Forgive me if the following observation is presumptuous or overly simplistic as I am relatively new to this board, but the current environment up here for the last couple of weeks has been, at times, frustrating. The major themes seem to be:
1. If youre in favor of drafting Young then youre either (a) a Longhorn homer; (b) a David Carr hater, or (c) both.
2. On the other hand, if youre in favor of drafting Bush then you are football savvy and a real fan.
3. And finally, if youre in favor of trading the pick and trying to bulk up some other need areas then your voice is pretty much drowned out by the other two.
The thing is, if you take a step back and look at the big picture there are very strong, compelling arguments for all three (no need to elaborate on them here). In the end the Texans win no matter which direction they go. Its a great position that were in (which of course makes for some very interesting discussion regarding what is the best course).
My point with this post? The bottom-line is that all of us up here are big fans of the Texans or else we wouldnt have registered in the first place, and we wouldnt be wasting our time posting. Were all proud of Houston and want to see the team represent the city well, regardless of who is QB, RB, coach, or otherwise. I wish we could keep this in mind, and maybe even be a little more open-minded when someone posts an opinion that differs from our own. Were at a critical juncture in the teams history, and in the end we all want the same thing.
Peace, and Go Texans!
