Now that the Big Boys of the 2004 draft (going into the draft, it was generally accepted that the top RBs were Steven Jackson and Kevin Jones) have gotten their legs under them, I thought it would be interesting to see how they stack up against a few other young backs, particularly Domanick Davis.
In addition, from time to time posters complain that the Texans arent fairly treated by the media. The implication of this is that some players are hyped more than a Texan player, even if their numbers dont match those of the Texan player.

In comparing the four RBs, Domanick Davis is a two time 1,000 yard rusher and Rookie of the Year. Only Kevin Jones appears capable of matching his 1,000 rushing season this year.
Domanick Davis has the second best rushing average over the last three game (4.8) trailing Steven Jackson (5.2), but leading both Kevin Jones (4.6) and Julius Jones (3.2).
Domanick Davis has also been the most productive of four in the last three games with 507 combined rushing and receiving yards. Kevin Jones has 401 combined yards, Steven Jackson has 372 combined yards and Julius Jones has 264 yards.
Domanick Davis also has 3 rushing touchdowns over the last three games, the same as Steven Jackson. Kevin Jones and Julius Jones only have 1.
Domanick Davis has been a productive back for the Texans, with over 3,000 combined yards (2,108 rushing and 905 receiving yards) and 21 touchdowns. It will be interesting to see how the Texans approach the RB position in the offseason.
