The Actual And Real 2016 Texans' Talk Mock Draft Extravaganza

everyone getting all worried, but as long as we finish before real draft it's all good. We on a good pace.

Even then, is it a big deal? Not like it's going to hold up the real draft.

"Sorry fans, the 2016 NFL Draft has been delayed due to the Texanstalk.com mock draft not being completed. srrono is still on the clock."

Sorry guys the last two days at work were crazy and I'm trying to buy a house right now. For the record I've finished all my picks every year I've done this. Again sorry was not expecting the last two days being this hectic.

It happens. I remember one year in which a bunch of things were going on at once and I had to hand my team over around the third round.

It's not a big deal. It's just a game we play to keep ourselves occupied until the real draft.

It's just inconvenient when 20 people sign up and then we get into the fourth round and there are only 8 people left. Stuff comes up, life happens, it gets boring. I get it. Not gonna lose sleep over it, obviously.

He's got 3 of the next like 10 picks. Hope he shows quick.

I think that team needs a LOT of help.

Center, RT, LOLB, CB

This team sucks lol.

I don't think we are finding a quality LOLB or CB at this point in the draft, but those are pretty athletic positions so they can definitely play Special Teams while they try to prove they belong on an NFL roster.

I think making this a rule going in would help a great deal.

I've participated in this exercise for awhile, 4 or 5 years I would say. Maybe longer, not even sure. Yes, we have hang ups, and yes we wouldn't be able to do this if we didn't have a handful of guys every year step up and move things forward. However, we still finish before the real draft starts every year, so we always get atleast something out of it.

I also vote in favor of anyone who is willing to take over group picks.

I will take over a group pick if needed. Just give me a team.

Anthony Davis is back from retirement to play RT. They've got nothing at the C/OG spots even with the signing of Beadles. The also could use a CB and LB real bad.

I would give them Tuerk/Benenoch/Rees Odhiambo or Joe Schobert as value picks.

I will make the call with the 133rd pick in the TT Mock draft the SanFrancisco 49ers select Max Tuerk C, USC. If y'all have objections I'm fine with changing the pick, but it's time to get this ball rolling. Tuerk was my BPA and at a position of need.

Baltimore and Texans FTW are on the clock.

The can't miss guys I think are pretty much gone IMO. Some will claim they are here, and maybe they are, but I don't see em anymore. This is a big reason why I want guys that I believe have the ability to play several positions (with work and time) in case of injury and can prove themselves on special teams in the meantime.

With my final compensatory pick in the 4th the Ravens select:

Joe Schobert - Hybrid / Special Teams - Wisconsin - 6'1" - 244 lbs.

Great pick, especially for the Ravens, who can use a versatile, instinctive guy like Schobert.

Guy I was looking at aswell, someone Ive been hoping maybe the Texans can get in the real draft. Idk why I like his style of play

I really like Schobert. The dude is always where the ball is.

It upsets me that guys like this who do everything right in college always seem to have their careers hit a big road block come combine time. Not long enough, not fast enough, not big enough, arms don't have necessary strength/length, etc.

It's hard to completely go against the combine, but I love watching a game and seeing the same guy in on every play. Those are the guys I want on my team. And end of 4th presents good value IMO.

Does anyone have an idea what position he will likely land on in the NFL? Most things I read say ILB is best chance, but OLB and SS still in play.

Good pick on Thompson. Major Ball Hawk.

Scouts wanted him to improve his speed from the combine to show he can play FS in the NFL and HE DID.

Posting a time of 4.0 at his pro day.

I think Schobert is a guy that could be a versatile SAM in a 43. He can rush the passer, set the edge, has at least basic ability in coverage.

But I think that skill set also fits extremely well as a WILB in a 34. All those traits are still valuable. He fits what the Ravens would likely be asking him to do.

I see Schobert as a 3-4 will who is good in coverage. Perfect fit next to McKinney when Cushing is let go after next season.

Thompson is a 2nd round guy in my eyes. Complete Safety prospect. The media guys criticizing his speed because of his 40-time are clueless. He had food poisoning at the Combine.

Ok so I have two picks coming up here soon. Could use some help on about 10 choices to look at. Picks will happen pretty quick.

I'm targeting secondary, offensive line (guard and RT), defensive line, and running back.

Shawn Oakman is an absolute beast. He isn't the most polished football player but pound for pound, he's probably the strongest guy in the entire draft. Did a great job getting to the QB two years ago but had a down year last year. Projects likely as more a run stopper than pass rusher.

With the final pick of the 4th round, #139, the Bills select:

Anthony Zettel - DL, Penn St

I feel like this is good value here for Zettel. He's a talented but undersized run stuffer that fits Rex Ryan's defense and we are trying to rebuild the DL to fit that scheme. He can play DE for us in base and slide down to DT in nickel.

Oakman has too many red flags IMO. Love the human shell, hate the brain inside.

He makes for a better statue than a football player with all his risk at this point. In the 6th round most guys are misses anyway, so I bet someone takes him there, but in the 4th round I don't think I could do it.

At least until this rape situation is resolved, and I doubt it will be for another few months.

"He's going to get beat up but I'll take a guy who has his size and power. Those guys make it in the league and they usually get better too. He's not a pass rusher, he's disruptive against the run. That is who you have to draft." -- AFC executive

I like the risk.

Of course, what player can't drop their time almost 1 full second with a little elbow grease and hard work.
A healthy player is unlikely to do that.
But an unhealthy player is. If he was suffering from food poisoning at the combine and was dehydrated? I can see it. But I don't see a 4.0 athlete not being on the national radar.
