Texans vs Dolphins game day thread

How did Hill do @TheRealJoker V2? And who was the quarterback?

Hill is not having the same season no matter who is at quarterback.
Who was covering him again?

Who said he’s having the same season? What I said earlier in the week is he has performed better with Tua at QB… which is true if you’d bother to look at the game splits instead of trying to prepare a “gotcha” moment

Sting cemented All-Pro today imho. Hill + Tua is still a very deadly combo, and the way Sting shut him down, plus had two picks is epic. That’s the performances that create legends. Can’t overstate how well Sting played.

And that’s taking nothing away from the secondary more broadly. Those guys as a group, balled out today.

Like I said it didn’t matter who was a quarterback, his numbers were down. He’s had maybe 2 good games with Tua at the helm and that’s it. He’s been up against other top comebacks as well. Sauce is still pretty good and he ate him for over 100 yards.

I wouldn’t all he does is rely on the speed of his WRs… everything Tua throws is at the LOS or behind.
I can do without that
The trouble with Mcdaniels is his record against winning teams as a HC. I think he’s a top notch OC but he’s going to have to get over the “can only beat bad teams” stigma.

I don’t see the Dolphins firing him this offseason. But if they are .500 or worse next season and still can’t find a way to beat winning teams then he’ll be given his walking papers.

That being said, I don’t think he’ll be an OC if he does get fired. I think he’ll get another HC opportunity.

Offensive line still sucks. Dolphins defense not having a good season pressuring opposing Qb's and yet today they got pressure on CJ. The Ravens and Chiefs defense should feast on CJ.

On a positive note our defense has risen to the occasion and played well. Still we can't expect our defense to win games for us each week. That is asking too much.

I do think it funny how the announcers talk about the lack of a running game when Mixon running the football wasn't really the focus of the offense today. He probably should have been but that is neither here nor there.

I will say that this was a big win considering the Dolphins practically played a playoff game today. We have a very tough schedule to end the regular season. If we could beat either the Chiefs or Ravens that would be huge for our confidence going forward!

The Dolphins have to get a good vet backup QB.

No more Skylar Thompson's of the world.

BTW, their OL is almost as bad as the Texans OL.

Fair but I meant due to his past alcohol history here -in- Houston when he was with the Texans. Shanahan found empty bottles of cheap vodka in his offices. Kubiak also fired him for being late because he was partying the night before.
Where did you get this info?

I never have heard this, not saying this isn't true.

I can see a world where they win both of those games. They split them IMHO.

So after graduation, McDaniel used his connections to land an internship with the Denver Broncos. That led to a full-time job with the Houston Texans — this is where he met Kyle Shanahan (more on that later). The Houston Texans stop is important because Mike McDaniel was fired by head coach Gary Kubiak.McDaniel showed up late twice to a 6:00 a.m. meeting and Kubiak had enough, firing him on the spot. So at 25 years old, Mike McDaniel was out of the NFL.
For example, Mike McDaniel struggled with an alcohol addiction while coaching in the NFL (he says he drank every single day for years). But he checked himself into a 3-week rehab center in 2016 and came out clean.

Another good read about it here

He actually draws up some pretty innovative routes.

He has his QB throw too many passes behind the line of scrimmage.
I think McDaniel's offenses are entertaining. I don't think they are the type that win championships. QBs take too many hits and McDaniel will abandon the run game, as well. Would not be my choice for Texans OC, but might be DeMeco's.
The AFC South sucks
I'm good with that. And really, there are no great teams in the NFL this year. Just some that win more than others.

Shitty year so far and somehow still won the South with 3 games to go.

The AFC South sucks
Yeah, better go ahead and put an asterisk next to that Banner in the roof and on all the clothes and paraphernalia, I suppose?
Personally on the next three games, I am going to back into the living room and use the remote over my shoulder to turn on the TV.
