Scared the heck out of me... had to think about what day it was. I mean, I knew I dozed off for a minute, but damn...

Im expecting the L. The only question is really will it be a last second heart breaker or will it be Ravens style where I can say "Not surprising" and turn the bulk of my attention elsewhere.

I do hope to be pleasantly surprised but...I'm not holding my breath.

I don't need to get fired up for a playoff game. What I need is:
CJ to calm the F down and do what he proved he was capable of last season.

The Line to protect the man at all cost.

The D to be hungry and go out there and make the Chargers regret looking forward to this game.

Slow to cosplay like a good OC and make me believe it by making adjustments.

Then keep it up in the following weeks.

Texans show up like they belong in the playoffs... this fan will have no problem shaking off the dust of apathy.

Are the Ravens and Patriots the teams we lost to?

We beat Buffalo, Cincy*2, Cleveland and I can’t remember who else.

4. Houston Texans (10-7)

Odds to win Super Bowl: +6000
FPI chance to make the divisional round: 47.6%
FPI chance to make Super Bowl: 6.1%

First game outlook: The Texans made the playoffs for the second straight season and will host the No. 5-seeded Chargers on Saturday (4:30 p.m. ET, CBS). This is the eighth time since 2011 that the Texans have hosted a game on wild-card weekend. Houston is 5-2 in those games, most recently defeating the Browns 45-14 last season. -- ESPN
Stat to know: The Chargers rank in the top six in EPA allowed per designed run play and per dropback. It's particularly impressive because they've done it without an amazing pass rush -- they rank 22nd in pass rush win rate. L.A.'s reasonably high 7.1% sack rate is probably more a function of an impressive secondary. Derwin James Jr. has the lowest yards per coverage snap allowed (0.5) among players with 200 coverage snaps and primarily lines up as a slot corner -- but outside corner Kristian Fulton and rookies Tarheeb Still and Cam Hart have been solid, too. -- Walder

Heat check rating: 5. The decline of the defense has turned the Chargers from AFC playoff spoiler to likely one-and-done, but the Justin Herbert-Ladd McConkey connection is a fun one. Mixed vibes here. -- Solak

While I sold my wildcard tickets yesterday, as I have zero interest in going to the wildcard game, it would’ve been cool seeing Arian Foster lead the team into the field. I’m sure they’ll show it on TV though.

Leave the man alone. His ticket, he can sell it to whoever he wants.

& if he used ticket master he has no idea who bought it.

Here is a good read:

I wrote a thing. With love, care, free to read. It isn't for debate, it is just framing issues, wanting a 2023 solution to a 2023 unintended consequence. Meant to be read. I don't benefit from clicks other than if it causes things to be better among people.

Me in the Chronic: We Need An Option 4 To Transfer/Sell Tickets

Likely preaching to the choir here. I am putting this in the Texans FOOTBALL talk forum because I know from experience that this is a competition issue. Competing against legacy teams, dealing with their crowd noise.

We as individuals can do our best to sell and give tickets to other fans. That is an ethos we've had since the OG days. Texan Bill and I used to make sure that paper tickets were always used, especially when given away for love. RIP and pour one out to my guy. Technology has made things easier and more profitable than meeting somebody in a parking lot or coffee shop exchanging tix.

I don't think there is a broad understanding of the chicken and egg issues with the fan noise/stadium, and how digital ticketing has accelerated these issues.

People can have all sorts of arguments about what the football team should do given their circumstances with injuries or personnel or scheme or whatever, and that is fine, some of that is good, and some of it makes me want eye bleach, but this is a DeMeco thing. They will do their part no matter what kinds of fans show up, but DeMeco and the team have asked us to roll up. Many of us have. But the modern world doesn't make it easy and seamless to have 70K of our pals roll up. There's someone(s) out there that can do something about this, and all I can do is ask for us to keep trying our best to match Texans to tickets, and hope that tech people give us the Option 4 for a time when we don't just know each other like that.

/as an aside, you can find me in the Platinum lot, row A 30ish most every game, northeast corner, opposite side from Blue Crew, where I also go, so if I haven't seen you in a while, just know you have a home base tailgate over there with lots of food and drink, or among any number of lots. Texans Santa will be there on Christmas Eve, whether you've been naughty or nice :)

Here is a good read:
It is an idealistic read, but the reality is that a certain percentage of fans sell off a couple of games so that they can afford the costs of attending games. Sorry, the greater responsibility is for the Texans to consistently provide a product where a fan does not want to sell or that market of Houston Texan fans is so large and excited that fans from other team can't get tickets.

And yes I will be in my 600 level end zone seats probably no later than 3:00,

One of the suggestions for the article was for the Texans to provide a marketplace for Texan fans to sell their tickets to other Texan fans first.

It wasn’t telling fans not to sell their tickets. I don’t know where you go that from.

It is inconceivable to believe that any NFL team can have a product that where a fan doesn’t want to sell their tickets. Every team has their ups and downs.

Also, the reality for some is that season ticket holder sell tickets to offset costs.

So no - it wasn’t an idealistic read. More a suggestion and a marketplace that is an opportunity.

People can sell to the highest bidder.

Im a Texans fan, like many have been since before they were named.

I had family trying to offload their season tickets and knowing how difficult they are to become available I said Id take them.... til I heard how much they cost.

Then all I could do is laugh and say... nah..... Id rather use that to put a small block in the s10 or restore my first car.

God bless you guys that can afford the tickets and do so cause even if I jad that much disposable income I demand a better product for my money... especially that much.

I don't like to see a sea of opposition in the stands but.... not going to beat someone over the head for selling to the highest bidder.

So we’re supposed to give the Texans all our money and then sell it to the lowest bidder… AKA… a fellow Texans fan?

Righhhhhhhtttttt.

Y’all can go pound sand with that nonsense.
