I don't think this late in the season anyone can change anyone elses opinion. So lets get a REAL tally going of who wants the Texans to win or lose this last game.

FACTS ARE FACTS!
IF WE WIN: WE REALLY REALLY REALLY LOSE BIG-TIME!
IF WE LOSE: WE WIN BIG-TIME IN THE NFL DRAFT!

:ok:

Personally I want to stomp the sorry *** 49ers into the ground and then piss on their graves and light a match. In other words I want my Team to win and all the other Texan fans that dont can go jump in a lake (preferably one that is in hell and on fire)

You first

I feel the same way about this game as I've felt about every Texans' game this season. I hope we win, and I hope to see a tough and physical game by both teams. Sure having the #1 pick would be great, but I'm not about to hope that my team loses just so that we get that pick.

i, as a niner fan, feel the same way about my team. I have all season long, I admire our coach, Nolan, because he has constantly said "we will worry about draft picks in the off season, right now is about winning"(paraphrased of course)

i think as a fan your main concern should be about winning, thats why i voted for my niners!

I wish the Texans win & still have the #1 pick :homer: GO SAINTS :pigfly:
i dont remember what the conditions were, but i believe that the texans and jets are pretty well locked in contention for 1st and 2nd pick, i think the giants would have to lose to Oakland (yeah right) the Rams beat dallas (yeah right) and the sea hawks would have to lose for you guys not to get the 1st or second. I am not totally sure what all the conditions are but if you google "NFL draft Picks" you could probably find out for sure.

I very much agree with you sir, it's pathetic any NFL fan wishes their own team to lose.....truly pathetic.

if the texans do lose on purpose we can compare bob mcnair to pete rose and we all know what a great guy he is....... I dont want bush and honestly he wont have his way with teams in the nfl like he does in college so i dont think he will be as great as everyone says. i mean he has an awesome offensive line i mean why do you think Matt L was the heisman winner last season. if not for time to throw no heisman, if not for blockers creating GIANT holes for bush no heisman. I mean what REALLY good players coming out of high school dont want to go to USC ????? I suggest he prove him self in the NFL before we think he can single handedly take the texans to the superbowl..... we can get alot more for him than we can out of him IMO.

I want to win. My take on Bush is he reminds me of "Rocket" Ismail. He was an all-purpose stud in college who ran out of all positions and returned the ball well. He had an Ok but unspectacular NFL career. Maybe Bush is a sure thing. Maybe he's the next Barry Sanders but if so, why'd he share time in the backfield with White? I don't think he's an every down player, JMO.

I voted for us to lose the game.

Tomorrow's game has zero value. For those that believe going out on a winning note will make us any better next year, you need to get a clue. Win or lose, it'll have no impact what so ever on next year's team attitude. We'll have a new coaching staff, possibly a new GM, &, definitely, several new players. The main concern I have, with even playing this meaningless game, is that one of our young cornerstone players could get a serious injury.

The only thing that winning it will do, is keep us from having the chance to draft a RB that is projected to be a Franchise RB, or make a trade that will stock our team with talent & draft picks for years to come. This is (hopefully) our once in a lifetime chance to build a strong foundation that will keep us on top for years. Obviously, there's no guarantee that any draft pick will be a star, but one thing is for sure, every star in the NFL came from the draft. Well, duhhhh.

For those questioning McNair, he's a smart business man & a man of integrity. If he thinks that tanking the game is the right thing to do for the long term success of the Texans & the fans, then he'll make that call, & be right. However with his integrity, I'd have a hard time believing that he would ever make such a move.

Finally, for those that would question my loyalty to the team for voting to lose, you can kiss my big ol' fat posterior. I've been a fan of the Texans & Oilers longer than some of you have even been alive. I've seen the Oilers go 1-13 two years in a row & I can't wait to see some other team have a bigger choke than we did, so that we can quit having the Buffalo game thrown back into our face. I hate the Cowboys & as far as I can remember, I've always hated the Cowboys. While I may not go to every game, I sure as hell, watch every game.

For the record, I want us to trade down from the #1 pick to pick up D'Brick & some additional picks. I'd even be happy with us taking Winston or Scott with our first pick. Although, Mario Williams/A.J.Hawk are intriguing.

WINNING BY LOSING. HERE IS THE PROOF OF THAT.

LOOK AT OUR OPTIONS NOW::redtowel:

(on Reggie Bush declaring for the draft) “All we can say is what has happened here with Reggie Bush and Vince Young declaring, with the addition of Matt Leinart among other players, is that you have a real strong top of the draft. I think it’s much stronger than it was a year ago, so what’s the mean? It means we’re going to get a real good player if we keep the pick; and if we trade the pick, we’ve got certainly a very valuable commodity to trade.

(on possessing the number one pick) “In theory it happens every year with the beginning of the draft, but some years there are better players than other years. I think this year what we have is a much better situation than a year ago, and I think we’ll let it play out over the next couple of months and see what happens.

(on if public sentiment sways decision) “Certainly a couple weeks ago it was Reggie Bush and now it’s Vince Young. And I understand that; Vince Young is a local hero, a great player at Madison High School, a great player at the University of Texas and he’s certainly a terrific pro prospect. We understand that. That’s logical.

(on what Reggie Bush could help the Texans) “If you have a Reggie Bush, he’s an explosive player. Hands on the ball, he can score any time he gets it. He can be a runner, he can be a receiver, he can be a returner and he could be a decoy if you will. Why would you have a decoy? Well, you put him in motion and all of a sudden he can free up coverages. You’re now dictating the defense by moving him around. And that was part of the interview process, certainly asking people, ‘How would you use Reggie Bush?’ Because at the time we interviewed everybody, we thought Reggie Bush was going to declare. I think he gives you a lot of options, plus he gives you a touchdown maker and another playmaker on offense.

(on Vince Young) “Vince Young is certainly a very talented quarterback. He can run and he can throw. If he ends up here, then he’s certainly an outstanding pro prospect.”

(on if he already knows who the team with draft) “No, and I think that’s a premature question. We don’t even have a head coach. First, you get a coach. The coach comes in and analyzes all your personnel. In all the interviews, the coaches gave us a rundown of our personnel but, admittedly, said they would need to study more tape to feel more comfortable about it. So the coach comes in, analyzes the team, looks at it and he’s going to have opinions on it. Certainly, no decision’s going to be made here without the head coach having a tremendous say in it.

(on search for head coach) “We interviewed seven candidates, and every one was qualified. Every one performed outstanding in the interview process. I think each candidate could be a good head coach in this league. At some point Mr. McNair will make that decision and when he does, we’ll be excited about whoever it is.

(on if Denver offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak is the leading candidate) “Well, Mr. McNair will decide who is the leading candidate or who isn’t, so I don’t think that’s fair to categorize anybody as a leading candidate. Certainly, Gary had an outstanding interview with us.

(on if Bush and Young are “can’t miss” guys) “There’s never been a ‘can’t miss’ guy, because there are misses. But we’d be very surprised if any of these players “missed” in the National Football League. What will happen with each one of them is that they will probably not work out at the combine, usually these players don’t. Maybe they will, maybe they won’t, but it doesn’t make any difference. The vast majority of your final evaluations are already completed; it’s how they play the game of football. What you work them out for, sometimes, is to get a time on them, at least find out how fast they are, and then you want to put your hands on them in a workout to see how the react to drills, how they think in situations. That’s why you work players out; it’s kind of to finish the process. But you’re not going to take a player who’s a first-round pick, work him out and he’ll become a third-round pick. Nor can a third-round pick become a first-round pick because of the workout. That doesn’t happen.
