I mentioned on another thread that I had fainted when I mistakenly saw that we had given up a first and second round trading Clowney. So I took a nap woke up to find out it was two firsts and a second round. Just got the teams wrong.

JJ is still a force to be reckoned with. If he stays healthy, we are golden with him on the line occupying two linemen. On the downside, if he has another significant injury it could spell the end for him.
I expect Merci will have a big year and get career sack #'s.
I predict Angelo Blackmon will have a breakout year and help fill the dlineman void.

It’s just mind blowing that the Dolphins got significantly more back for Tunsil than the Raiders did for a prime Khalil Mack. Insane.
On a positive note; Tunsil is a HELL of a tackle. Did you guys give up a lot? Certainly. I’m a fan of keeping my draft picks. I don’t want to pour salt in the wound but I’m just grateful another teams front office is operating how my Dolphins front office used to. Make no mistake; you guys got a hell of an upgrade at LT and a great deep threat in Stills. Definitely in win now mode.

We will see how all this shakes out but I’m reading this Martin kid in his rookie year last year had pressure ratios at Clark’s level. Carroll was very high on him. We will see but he may be more dangerous with Watt than Clowney was putting pressure on the qb.

We have zero talent? We have arguably the best corner in football in Xavien Howard, Minkah Fitzpatrick is a stud, Jerome Baker is a stud, Reshad Jones (getting up there) stud, Kenyan Drake, Jakeem Grant, Albert Wilson. You get the point.
We have pieces to build around. We were going to cut Stills regardless so essentially two first round picks and a 2nd for a great LT that is about to break the bank and didn’t want to be here. I’d consider this trade a win for the Dolphins and so would a lot of your fellow Texans fans as it appears. Anyhow; hoping you guys have a terrible season. Nothing personal, just need that higher 1st. Take care bud!
Last year was his 1st at LT and I thought he was very good in pass pro. There is still working to be done in the run game. But hhe should get better, he's an ascending player who won't hit his prime for2-3 yrs.
Those guys are very valuable as you see by the Tunsil trade. It sure is nice to have the LT position locked down for the next decade. Barring injury

Tunsil Howard Fulton Scharping Henderson (can Johnson play RT?) looks a helluva lot better than what we had.
If it ends up being one or more early 1sts and a 2nd, not so much and the new regime will be hamstrung coming in. Very typical situation for perennial bad teams.

I feel like we’re in a complicated relationship. First the Texans do things that break our hearts and show they don’t really love us and it’s time to move on. Then just as we are packing our stuff they show up with a diamond ring and flowers or wearing something out of a Victoria’s Secret (whichever suits your taste) and we’re on top of the world again.
