Texans random thought of the day

In round one, 22 of 31 picks have signed. The unsigned first-rounders include the three quarterbacks taken in the top four picks (Bryce Young of the Panthers, C.J. Stroud of the Texans, and Anthony Richardson of the Colts). Only 18 second-round picks have signed, as players and their agents try to enhance the guarantees in the four-year deals.

All picks have signed in rounds five and seven. Two players are unsigned in rounds three and two are unsigned in round four. Four sixth-rounders have yet to sign.

I would like to see the practices vs. the Dolphins. I just don't think I could hang in the August heat, anymore. Capers would schedule evening practices back in the day that were much more pleasant. I doubt we see those again.

I hope we have members that attend and give the rest of us a summary. Thanks in advance.
**** apparently I can't even handle June heat these days 🥵

I was outside quite a bit yesterday, and paying the price today.
Caserio has been criticized by Steven Nelson among others for wearing vests even in the midst of the heat wave. He's not as stupid as some believe. How does he manage to still keep cool? He keeps his secret close to the vest..............

Just bought one and it will be here tomorrow! Christmas in June!

Problem is that you can expect this same kind of stuff from Stroud in about 3 years if he's any good and I expect him to be just good enough to try to pull this crap off.

Hypothetically speaking, would your opinion of Stroud change if he were to change agents within the next 3 years? I agree, I cannot stand DM, but I feel every player is an individual and I cannot bring myself to judge Stroud on a crime he has yet to commit.

Seems to be a pattern for folks represented by Mullegeta. Not all of them. But when they go ballistic, they go ballistic.
That happens with any agent. It's the player not the agent. Did Nelson change agents because he was advised to play out his contract or because he thought DM could get him more money? Has he ever done something like this before?

Like Jalen Ramsey, he wants out, thinking that his value will be realized on the open market. But in Nelson's case.............

With Isaiah Rodgers being cut for gambling the Colts now have a hole at one of their starting CB spots. Could we see the rare in-division trade with Nelson to Colts? Colts would get valuable vet experience and a starting CB.

Texans would presumably get a draft pick and have one less Mulughetta client in the locker room…

What's the matter with that guy?

yep. There is no way that Mulughetta advocated or signed off on this stunt. He's a successful agent for a reason, and it's certainly not due to antagonizing general managers with moronic social media comments.

Lets see how the next 3 yrs go.

He's already shown bad judgement in the agent he picked, or that he's all about getting paid and not winning championships.

How many professional athletes find themselves an agent who'll prioritize in getting them the lowest valued contract available? Every agent on the market who desires to have a client base.....is going to get his client the most money possible. That shouldn't have to be explained to anyone.

From an Owner/GM standpoint, their job is to convince, by their track record, athletes to remain with the team on good, to very good, team friendly deals so they have the best chance to keep their core group of players together. That was an easy sale in New England and Tampa Bay when TB was leading those teams to SB's. Build a winner and then convince players that money has to go round in order to keep everyone together. Players can be on board with this approach and stay in one place and establish financial roots that will serve them well after their playing days are over.....it's the bigger picture that has served a select few athletes very well.

Do you have a link to show he hangs around with Watson? I searched and didn’t find anything.
DM clients are tight. You can choose to believe this or not.

Anyways as I've said before, I dont like the person or the player. So any further discussion is pointless. Obviously you like him and all I can say is lets agree to disagree. You will learn in time. Steve Nelson says hi.

.....and in time, if it does work out for the Texans.....what will you have learned?

Wish he used better judgement in the people he hangs with.
For years you have criticized the Texans for their "Texans worthy" philosophy and not picking players with known character issues. The Texans draft a player without any known character issues and you have an issue with who he hangs with?

When you were advocating for the Texans to draft players with known character issues. Who did you think those players were hanging with? Their Bible study classmates?

We should draft Satan for a defensive lineman. I hear he has a nasty disposition. I wonder if he can wear a helmet over those horns?
