Texans random thought of the day

Isn't it nice not to get embarrassed on primetime anymore? Kid is special when the lights are the brightest. I can't wait to see how he does in his first playoff run.

Me too, but I'm sure if they lose in the playoffs, (which they will) some people around these parts will calling for BOB's head.

Miller isn't as bad as some on here make him out to be. This yr he's running harder than in past yrs. He's been improving in pass pro as the season has gone on.

The only way they will call for his head if:

The teams comes out stale and lethargic.

Boneheaded timeout situation

Run his backs up the middle 80% of the time.

And doesn't call creative plays

A very subjective list.

Lets be realistic, you know it's going to happen.

Wanna hear something crazy? Since Week 8 the Texans, Colts, and Titans are a combined 17-4 with 3 of those losses coming to each other. Against non-AFCS teams they’re a perfect 12-0. This is easily the hottest division in football right now.

The Colts losing to the Jags is the mystery loss for those counting at home.

The weak division stuff can get thrown out the door right along with the weak schedule.

Still wondering why our roster still stands at 52 more than 3 days after Sammie Coates' release. I would have thought that if the Texans were comfortable in advancing Webster from his practice phase to active, it would have been done by now.

[BTW, the Cowboys worked out Coates today]

From substitute teacher to Texans, DeAndre Carter grateful for his journey
Houston Chronicle Dec. 21, 2018 Updated: Dec. 21, 2018 9:08 p.m.

When the New England Patriots cut DeAndre Carter three years ago, the diminutive wide receiver and return specialist wanted to stay busy and get involved with the community.

Carter took up work as a substitute teacher in Hayward, Calif., giving back to kids while staying available for NFL auditions.

"I was trying to help out and help kids find their way through life in a rough area," he said. "It gave me flexibility if I had to go fly somewhere, and the principal of the school was really good with me in terms of being able to go to work out for teams."
