If they sign Clowney to a long term Mackish deal I'm going to the neighbor's and kicking their cat. So we don't completely disagree.

This is why I'd like to see a special RB too. Take some focus or make them pay.

We finally agree on something.

A special RB would make this yrs OL look so much better. Miller is a really good complimentary RB but he shouldn't be getting more than 15- 18 touches a game and that includes run/pass game.

Agreed on the keeping Waton healthy bit, the disconnect comes with Solder. He may have been the best OT available, but is he really that good? Texans seem to have a limit in how much more he was worth. They must of thought something good of him because they did pursue. We don't know if Solder told them he was going to stay in the northeast period.

In the injury thread it was reported that KJohnson has been cleared out of the concussion protocol. Ever since seeing Savage have that mini stroke on the field, I am now more concerned for players when they come back. KJ worries me because he likes to bring the big hits and and at the same time also has durability concerns.

3rd lowest in the league in $$$$ spent on the OL. The numbers tell you what I've been saying all along. Make that 4th lowest by $100,000. Not that this matters.

They are doing the same thing they did with Carr. History is repeating itself.
 
Wow, man stop the freaking nonsense already. Again they offered Nate the highest amount given to any lineman in NFL history. Unfortunately the Giants offer was the same and it helped him to keep his son close to his doctor.

So this notion of them not wanting to protect Watson is hogwash.

Very funny your stance was Watson wasn't ready and he shouldn't start until year 3. Now its they aren't doing enough to protect him.

Every season you find something to complain about.

the texans also have spent the least on a qb obviously they do not care about the qb position

Hey look! Your wet dream of a franchise the N.E. Patriots have the second lowest amount of money spent (2 million less) on the offensive line! I guess they don't give a **** about protecting their QB either Huh?

Also Look! The N.Y. Giants have only spent a measly 2 million more on their offensive line, despite signing your overpriced, overrated FA pick.. I guess they simply aren't doing enough either.

But hey..look, the Colts have spent more than us, the Pats, Giants, and even the Jags! I guess the Colts are going to have the best offensive line out of these 5 teams huh?

Point is we have two players on rookie contracts, missed out on the most expensive signing (thank God, because he's not that good), and had to fill out the rest of the spots with mid level talent that was available.. money does not mean results.

Brady isn't coming off an ACL and the Texans dont have Scarnecchia coaching their OL.

My point stands, 4th lowest/really tied for 3rd $$$$ spent on the OL.

7th lowest payroll overall, 1.5 mil from 5th lowest.

That's the formula for bringing a championship to this city.

That wasn't my position at all in regards to Watson. I wanted Savage to play all of last yr so Watson wouldn't get hurt behind that crappy OL. Which is exactly what ended up happening. I said nothing about 3 yrs. I did say I thought Watson would be a middle of the pack top 15 QB due to his accuracy issues. I've said I was wrong on this a bunch of times.

The NYG's have their RT on a rookie contract, they drafted their LG, signed a low cost RG in FA and a WW pickup at C. The only guy they're paying is Solder, so this doesn't really surprise me.

so essentially their line mirrors ours, except for Solder who we made an equal offer to(which is actually 1.4 mil a year here because of state income tax), but they are the epitome of what we should be, and we suck because Solder cares about his kid?

factor in Solders 16 mil a year, where would we be? I'm not going to crucify them for someone choosing to sign elsewhere. I guess they could have over paid Fulton, Kelemente, and Henderson because obviously if you pay them more they naturally are better lineman. you cant fix a team in 1 off season, they tried for Solder struck out, oh well

3rd cheapest OL in the NFL protecting your franchise QB. Whatever could go wrong.

7th cheapest roster in the NFL only 1.5 mil from being the 5th cheapest. Wonder why depth on the roster is lacking?

BTW, I know you disagree with me, but the owner sets the budget that can be spent on personnel each yr. Regardless of the cap space.

Brady is past 40 and you most definitely want to keep him protected. Not only that the Patriots has had plenty terrible lines during Bradys career. And they still won SB's or at least made it to big dance.

The Cowboys has had the best oline these past three years. So if that's the formula, please tell me why haven't they won during those years?

Yeah, they struck out the same way Jerry Jones struck out when he tried to trade up for Paxton Lynch, but had to settle for Dak Prescott.

I'm going to laugh my ass off when Solder is getting thrown around when we play the Giants this season and really laugh my ass off when Davenport ends up having a better season. I mean the guy only helped give up 5 sacks to Tom Brady when we played the Pats last season. But his cap hit would've instantly made the Texans offensive line better. :)

The Texans, of course, all of the new QB's and their teams, (I'm living in Akron, Oh so I'm pulling for them except against the Texans) Jon Gruden's return (wtf with Mack?!?!), Brady and Brees' race to overtake Manning in the record books.

their off season has made no sense to me. Sign old players to short term deals, and trade a 3rd rounder for Bryant which seems like win now moves, but then he gets rid of key pieces like Crabtree and Carrs best friend Khalik Mack. idk if they are going for it, or rebuilding either way its entertaining

Obviously Gruden didn't like the Raiders WR corps. So he tried to rebuild it with Cooper/Nelson/Talented but troubled Bryant. Bryant flaked out on Gruden. Which is sad after what I read about Bryant's hard work and the changes he made in his life.

The Raiders are cash poor until they get to Vegas. They really couldn't afford Mack.

a 3rd round pick for a receiver who has been suspended more than he has played wasn't a wise move. I can see wanting to take a chance on him, but that wasn't a smart chance to take imo. Jordy is old, and has lost a step. there is a reason green bay let Rodgers' favorite target go. I think he is a downgrade from Crabtree. They are the oldest team in the league by a good margin, I've just never been a fan of that strategy

Might be a first round talent - but was traded from the Browns to the Bill's (after his outburst on Hard knocks where we complained about having to be on the 2nd team, and said "if you ain't gonna play me, just trade me).

So running the 2nd team with the Browns who were short on receivers and traded to the Bills and cut after not being able to crack that lineup.

Hard pass, thinks he's a superstar and can't find a job.
