Texans Raise Ticket Prices For 2018

Fans are being "rewarded."

Well, it’s that time again, and my field level end zone seats increased $40 each for the season.

And after they are coached up lets keep them.

Not even steelb can argue with that. :D

Or can he? idonno:

:coffee:

No complaining here.

Hopefully change is in the air down on Kirby.

One thing that hasn't changed is the annual McNair 4% ticket hike. This happens regardless of the sh!t product that is put on the field.

Last year, the Texans were 13th in cost of ticket prices. They are expected to be ranked the same this year.

"Year after year, we are grateful to the Houston Texans fans for the spirit they bring to each and every home game [Translation: "We are actually grateful to the Houston Texans fans for the money they bring to each and every home game."], playing a major role in creating a gameday experience at NRG Stadium [Translation: "Sorry, but we don't consider 'winning" as playing a major role in creating the gameday experience at NRG Stadium."]that is considered one of the best in the league," said John Schriever, Texans senior vice president of ticketing and event management. "This year's pricing structure will help us continue to deliver the exciting fan experience that has consistently been praised over the franchise's 16-season tenure."

I need to navigate more of the forums before posting new threads didn't see Doc had it here .. I spit my coffee all over my monitor when I saw it this morning.

I have had season tickets since 09. Seems like all but the season following 2-14.
With price increases throughout the Texans history whether fielding a decent team or more commonly a subpar team, you would think that after producing a 2-14 record with an awful product like that, a price drop would have been more appropriate, and at least a price freeze for 2018.

And if they have a record like the Patriots you're all good with a 1000% increase?

I believe that initially the price was guaranteed the first two years, and afterwards an increase every year with the exception of two. But, IIRC the after the two the next increase was more like 7 percent instead of 4. If true, that would be basically be the same as each year, just deferred.

McNair's being the McNair's,

Doesn't surprise me one bit they would raise prices after a 4-12 season.

As far as the Pats thing goes, let them win 5 SB's and then we can cross that bridge.

It's all but after the two 2-14 seasons.

I believe it was frozen for charter PSL holders for the first 2 seasons. Increases began after that.

Effectively, this gives you an idea where the line is drawn at increases, as the Texans raised prices after every season except 2013, 2010 and 2005. And no, it wasn't only after 2-14 seasons.

Increases after each season

2017: 4-12 3.73%
2016: 9-7 6.55%
2015: 9-7 5.9%
2014: 9-7 7.5%
2013: 2-14 no increase
2012: 12-4 9.8%
2011: 10-6 8.5%
2010: 6-10 no increase
2009: 9-7 6.67%
2008: 8-8 3.7%
2007: 8-8 7.05%
2006: 6-10 5.7%
2005: 2-14 no increase
2004: 7-9 - 6.3%
2003: 5-11 PSL price frozen
2002: 4-12 PSL price frozen

Thx. I forgot about the 1st 2 seasons and 6-10.

And those increases really add up. My $35 tickets in 2002 are now $82.50, a 136% increase.

I just received an email that single tickets are about to go on sale. There is a seat a row in front of mine for the Cowboys game selling for a whopping $650. I’m thinking about selling mine and paying off my mortgage.

Crazy isn't it? My section (525) face value is $88, seats are priced at $350 (lowest) to $500 (highest)...
Just don't see why people pay that much? That's just me...
