Would be interesting to know if they would have taken Cross at 13 if he was availableDo you think? He is a defensive-minded coach. Lovie wanted his pick and then promised Warhop his.
Sauce made the Pro Bowl. And your point is?
Shame Lovie didn't pick himSauce made the Pro Bowl.
Ok it still doesn't mean Stingley can't be a really good player and I didn't like the pick.Sauce made the Pro Bowl.
I heard that on a podcast yesterday. And 1 of the 3 hosts said he didn’t look like a stud last year. They all agreed that that he was not so great and hope he comes around this year.
No player is a bust after one season. Lol come on man.
When he starts playing like a 1.3 pick, then he will no longer be a bust. Hopefully it's just a temporary title he's earned. In the meantime, he's a bust until he isn't.
Josh Rosen would like to have a word with you.No player is a bust after one season. Lol come on man.
Two post ahead of yours. Posted it on yesterdayBeen hearing and seeing (2 or 3 photos) that while recovering from his injury, Stingley has put on around 10-15lbs of muscle. And has not lost any speed or agility. Trying to find a good before (last year at this time) and after (this year). Sadly, so far typical searches are pulling up last season only now. The picture I saw of this year, you are clearly able to see he looks bigger in the arms and legs. Hard to tell anything past that with jerseys and stuff on. Anyone else hear or have comparison pictures please post them.

Houston needs Stingley to be an NFL ALL PRO CB. That's why he was the #3 pick. Hopefully he will remain healthy and we a GREAT corner in 23'.
While all of that is true, it doesn't change the fact that he hasn't had a fully healthy season since 2019. I don't think that's a gamble you take with the 3rd overall pick. Sure, it all goes away IF he's healthy and becomes an All Pro, or even Pro Bowl, but right on cue he's already missed 8 games of his rookie season. Of the last 40 games teams he's been on have played (LSU & Texans) he's missed 21 of those games. You've got to be great at staying on the field before you can be great at anything else.

Lost in the Texans' disappointing 2022 season: The impressive flashes delivered by the No. 3 overall pick. Yes, Sauce Gardner -- the cornerback who came off the board at No. 4 overall -- received Defensive Rookie of the Year honors, and rightfully so. Gardner was immediately one of the best corners in the NFL, while Stingley suffered the typical ebbs and flows of a rookie campaign, ultimately missing the final eight weeks of the season with a lingering hamstring injury. But in his nine-game debut, the silky smooth corner displayed the athleticism, agility and instincts to blanket receivers in man or zone coverage. With new head coach DeMeco Ryans installing a versatile scheme that enables corners to dig a little deeper into the toolbox, Stingley has a chance to show off his skills as a lockdown cover man with a polished game.
Heard a report that Stingley bulked up from 190 to around 205 to 210 with no loss of speed or movement. That will help him put some good hits on some stronger WRs. Have yet to hear 100% what he weighs. But just looking at pictures he is no question thicker in his lower body for certain.
I wonder if that would add more weight to that lisfranc foot or alleviate any pressure on the foot.
One would think more body weight would be more weight in the foot but would the added muscle in other areas help compensate?
September 29th will be two years since surgery, if not 100% healed, then ..
Have we ever had a eight interception cornerback? I think five is the highest. I hope this prediction is correct for Derek.
Oddly enough Dunta Robinson's best season in the NFL was his rookie season. He had 6 interceptions.Have we ever had a eight interception cornerback? I think five is the highest. I hope this prediction is correct for Derek.

I don't know about 8 but in 2003 Marcus Coleman had 7 interceptions.Have we ever had a eight interception cornerback? I think five is the highest. I hope this prediction is correct for Derek.
D-Rob ! One of my all-time Texans favs.Oddly enough Dunta Robinson's best season in the NFL was his rookie season. He had 6 interceptions.
I'm interested to know how the AI platform came up with this. I don't think quarterbacks are going to throw that much to Stingley's side. The most interceptions Darrelle Revis had in a season was 6. That was in his 3rd season. In his 4th season he had 0. He was still a 1st team All Pro that year.
They need to be put in the ring of honor.I wonder what happened to the Pay me Rick shoes?
Why?They need to be put in the ring of honor.
Gotta prove he can stay healthy all season.I'm interested to know how the AI platform came up with this. I don't think quarterbacks are going to throw that much to Stingley's side. Stingley Island?
Because they're part of the beginning stages of this franchises lore. Why?

Two years of significant hamstring injuries. Avoiding lower extremity injuries will be challenging.Gotta prove he can stay healthy all season.
Sting and Sauce will be in competition again this offseason to become the highest paid CB in the league. Both should climb above $100 million in total guaranteed $$$.
“Hearing the buzz coming out of Texans camp this month, I couldn't help but get even more bullish in my view that Stingley's on the verge of a full breakout campaign. And then, watching the way he performed in last week's preseason game against the New York Giants -- deftly erasing talented rookie first-rounder Malik Nabers, among others, while also hauling in a nice interception -- I needed to write this take. The stage is set for Stingley to become a household name as a lockdown artist. Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans can pick and choose how to deploy his star corner based on matchups, and I can't wait to see how it plays out.”
This season Stingley's ability to avoid injury will be significant in negotiating early. A great season and he will get that type of deal. The foot causing him to miss more than 3-4 games may cause Nick to be reluctant and negotiate after year 4; initiating club option for year 5.Sting and Sauce will be in competition again this offseason to become the highest paid CB in the league. Yes, but that goes with any player. If Sauce were to have injuries in 2024, he would lose leverage in the offseason. This season Stingley's ability to avoid injury will be significant in negotiating early.
I hope 3-4 games in a 17 game season doesn't cause Nick to throw out all semblance of reason. The foot causing him to miss more than 3-4 games may cause Nick to be reluctant and negotiate after year 4; initiating club option for year 5.
Man I hope the cap takes a huge jump.Sting and Sauce will be in competition again this offseason to become the highest paid CB in the league. Both should climb above $100 million in total guaranteed $$$.
Who's pinching pennies now? Remember, it would be an extension to Stingley. The big cap hits would be a couple of years away.Man I hope the cap takes a huge jump.
Diggs is likely a one year guy.
But Gardner did not have those. True every player with zero injuries has the chance of being hurt. However with a player that has a severe injury or repetitive injuries like Tytus Howard, cannot be evaluated the same as one with no injuries.Yes, but that goes with any player. If Sauce were to have injuries in 2024, he would lose leverage in the offseason.
