Well, it would make sense if it wasn't for Easterby's con's job.uhh no. It was a right place right time type situation for BoB. Right place b/c it was the Texans….right time b/c they (Cal) were still sort of dealing with organizational control things related to BoB McNair’s death in 2018….. and then Brian Gaine’s unexpected departure in 2019..back to back. Thru all of that, BoB and the football team was actually the most stable thing at that point believe it or not.
wouldn’t have been a horrible decision if it was on an interim basis…but then thats where Easterby came into play.
for starters there has been NOTHING that NC has done to date that has set this franchise back in the manner that BoB/Easterby did in their 1 year at the helm. That alone makes him SIGNIFICANTLY better than the BoB/Easterby tandem. Now, Could that change in the next year or so? Sure. But as of right now, the arrow is pointing up regardless of what the team’s record is b/c there is NO question they are in better shape now than they were before he got here.Well, it would make sense if it wasn't for Easterby's con's job.
If a GM can't do a better job than Easterby and OB, what luck do we have?
In fairness, I don't think Caserio drafted as well as he could have in the 1st round this year - although obviously everything is yet to be determined. But man, what a Day 2/3 draft he had getting Harris, Petrie and Pierce. Some good hauls of that crew and gives me hope about his ability as a talent evaluator.for starters there has been NOTHING that NC has done to date that has set this franchise back in the manner that BoB/Easterby did in their 1 year at the helm. i just think you and others are grasping at straws here. No GM is going to make 100% correct moves..period. So you beating your chest about how he was wrong about these 1 or 2 minor moves in years they weren’t going to be competing anyway is silly.
We’ve got an ongoing 20 page thread dedicated to comparing how our 1st round pick last year sucks compared to another teams’…& guess what? Both teams will be sitting at home this playoffs b/c overall their teams stink.
i mean right now, this is an opinion, but i hear ya. Green and Stingley were hurt…something not uncommon for guys trying to push thru a rookie wall of playing more than 11 games in a year. This year its them. Next year they could be fully healthy all season and all the day 2-3 guys could be hurt…its luck of the draw man. Don’t let some of these guys in here convince you that they were “more likely” to be hurt b/c they were injured in college at one point. The expectations around here that all these day 1 picks have to be perennial pro bowlers is ridiculous. In fairness, I don't think Caserio drafted as well as he could have in the 1st round this year - although obviously everything is yet to be determined. Like I said, if Nick Caserio is good, he should be able to convince the McNairs to let him pick a HC.for starters there has been NOTHING that NC has done to date that has set this franchise back in the manner that BoB/Easterby did in their 1 year at the helm. bro your whole premise rests on the thought that he should be able to do something. His job isn’t to “convince”. His job is to execute where he does have the ability to do so independently….and follow the orders of his boss when he can’t.Like I said, if Nick Caserio is good, he should be able to convince the McNairs to let him pick a HC.
Right now, he's worse than OB and the preacher.
Look at the score board.
Kyle is an idiot.bro your whole premise rests on the thought that he should be able to do something. His job isn’t to “convince”. His job is to execute where he does have the ability to do so independently….and follow the orders of his boss when he can’t.
There were reports around 2018-19 after daddy Mcnair passed that Cal was rubbing alot of people the wrong way within the FO around that time. We also heard reports that One of DW4’s alleged gripes when he asked for a trade was that Cal had promised him some level of involvement in the HC search only to do his own thing with DW4 not consulted at all apparently. Maybe you should “look at the scoreboard”…..Maybe Cal isn’t this big pushover like you guys think he is.
way to bring your argument home….Kyle is an idiot.
Nick Caserio is a file clerk.
Look at the scoreboard.![]()
Bingo.way to bring your argument home….![]()
Yet, we still haven't heard the genius of 76 tell us what he would do differently.way to bring your argument home….![]()

Happy New Year.
Same same.that was sarcasm in case u didn’t pick up on it![]()
I already did; you just don't read too many of my posts, remember?Yet, we still haven't heard the genius of 76 tell us what he would do differently.
Care to share again?I already did; you just don't read too many of my posts, remember?
Thanks but no thanks.Care to share again?
I'm sure our visions are quite different.
I will lay out my offseason.
Bring back O/Thomas/Smith
Sign Bradberry and Tomlinson in FA.
Trade down to #6 in the draft with Carolina. For #6 and #38, plus a 2024 1st and 3rd.
Rd.1 Wilson
Rd.1 Johnston
Rd.2 Achane
Rd.2 Ika
Rd.3 Stromberg
Rd.3 Beebe
Rd.4 Avila
In 2024 I'm moving up if they win more than 4 games using the three 1sts one 2nd and three 3rds to get Williams or Maye.
lolThanks but no thanks.
I have better things to do than getting too involved with the current FOs and coaching staff.
You forgot to look at the score board again.lol
yet, you’re here week in week out complaining about the FO & coaching staff…
Truth is, you just don’t wanna take that L ………again.
it aint that serious bro…pretty much everyone here knows your schtick & You like all of us have been wrong about things regarding the Texans.
OK,Thanks but no thanks.
I have better things to do than getting too involved with the current FOs and coaching staff.
What if the teams at the top of the draft prefer taking the QBs? Your plan goes...In 2024 I'm moving up
I still think they will be picking in the top 5 and there will be atleast 3 QB's worthy of that pick and I'm pretty sure that one will be available or can be traded for. What if the teams at the top of the draft prefer taking the QBs? Your plan goes...

That's how you way to run a $billion operation? By being "pretty sure"? Who are you, Tracy Morgan?and I'm pretty sure
He sucks. So that should keep the team in the top 5.I also want to bring in a Minshew type FA.
That's the way Crane operated during the Stros rebuild. That's how you way to run a $billion operation? By being "pretty sure"? Who are you, Tracy Morgan?

Did your grandfather not teach you the "bird in hand" proverb?I would say drafting Young is just as big of a risk if not a bigger risk, than taking the risk of waiting.
I’d be drafting Hendon Hooker anyways…..so he’s going to fall right into my hands. I wouldn’t be sweating even if he’s going to sit a season. What if the teams at the top of the draft prefer taking the QBs? Your plan goes...

I'm not wired that way.Did your grandfather not teach you the "bird in hand" proverb?
It's OK. The Texans are a lock to draft in the top 2. Just wondering which QB will make you "happier".I'm not wired that way.
i would rather take risks than settle for mediocrity.
But yes he did try to teach me this.
It's a waste of my time as I had them in several posts over the last two years.OK,
Just lead me to the post where you laid out what you would've done if you were in Caserio's shoes? That shouldn't be a hard thing to do.
YoungIt's OK. The Texans are a lock to draft in the top 2. Just wondering which QB will make you "happier".

I would have loved to have seen your comment.Lol
I had to delete my comment because he picked Young.
