Texans @ Chiefs AAR

Looking at the list of available WRs, nothing but JAGs and head cases. At the start of his career, Robbie Chosen/Anderson seemed like he was on his way to becoming one of the better WRs and then he started getting into arguments with coaches and changing his name.

Wrong. People have been whining about the Chiefs ever since Mahomes took over and they started having major success. Far before Taylor showed up. Funny how the conspiracy was the Pats were the NFL’s conspiracy darlings when Brady was there. Now..all the sudden it’s amazing, but the NFL now hates the Pats. It’s funny how the NFL is in the tank hard for the best team in the league and it rotates around. Quite interesting.
That was different. The Pats actually were caught 3 times doing illegal ****. And besides, The chiefs were whining about the pats beating them in 2018 in the playoffs…b/c of screwed up referee calls. So they have no room to talk. Circle of life bro.

It’s not a conspiracy…it’s just that The NFL is so damn inconsistent in how they want these refs to call things. One of the reasons I’ve more or less tuned out the NBA is b/c of how inconsistent the refs are with their calls and the superstar system they have in place. The NFL is quickly becoming the NBA in this regard. Can’t prioritize certain players over others. It’s not enough to acknowledge u screwed up a call.

Tee Higgins will be on the market

For the 3rd time…hate the rule…but the refs are supposed to follow the rules, not make them. So yea, by rule that was 1000000% the correct call. I hated it..but I accepted it and moved on. Like the Texans did. It’s only a handful in here that act like whiny little girls. Man up. The Texans lost that game because they were outplayed and out coached, not because of some grand conspiracy.
If they're going to get called for that, then a Joe Turkey Jones/Bradshaw moment, or a couple of Deacon Jones head slaps. I've been saying for awhile if the NFL's going to have games called this way, then players need to take things into their own hands and get their monies worth.

Ok let’s say you are right. You aren’t. So is every missed call in the NFL part of your grand conspiracy. I mean spill the beans. Who is involved and how deep does this go and why?
Straight to the top.

This kind of crap rarely happened until God'ell. Now it's common place and unless you're burying your head in the sand you've gotta admit there's some strange things going on. It's almost like the NFL is being run by the gamblers. BTW, doesn't the NFL have marketing deals with the gamblers. Also the Swifties it's really all about the money.

Take that TD away from the Chiefs that was gifted to them, it’s a 1 point game. Texans play it differently.
Even after the phantom “roughing” call, the defensive holding call was garbage.

Like you said, they could call it on any team at any time. How convenient that they call two drive extending penalties , one of them took 6 points away from the Texans, and the holding (bs as well) penalty on third down…
It’s garbage and you know it.

They didn’t get out coached. They got out reffed
You knew this was going to happen way before the game started. It's been happening all yr long. Look at what the RT Taylor gets away with and tell me Tunsil is doing anything differently. The only way to stop the cheating is to hurt Mahomes unfortunately.

Perhaps that Jared Wayne guy can replace Dell? Nah.. has not done anything anywhere else including the Canadian League.

I want to make an amend regarding pass rush:

I said Anderson and Hunter only had a handful of pressures between them. Upon review that was not true, they were getting to Mahomes and forcing him off his spot. The defense as a whole was pressuring Mahomes. The trouble is that they were playing the best QB in the NFL and he found a way to make plays time after time (with a little help from the refs on the roughing the passer penalty of course).

My main point stands however: The best players on this team have to make game changing plays if they are going to beat the best teams. And yesterday the best players did not do that.

We did not see enough highlights from CJ, Mixon, Nico, Anderson, Hunter and Stingley. We aren’t beating the big boys without seeing those players making momentum shifting plays throughout the game.

Hunter was held at least 8 times on yesterday. No freaking call. I saw several times when Settle was engaged with one of their linemen and another one would come double him by hitting him in the back.

Bump the League and the bleep ash Chiefs. Lying ashes. No freaking way any player is running like that after sustaining an high ankle sprain.

Do you rest some players now for the playoffs?
It would be a huge middle finger to the NFL if they rested key players for the Christmas day game. It's tempting. And it would be defensible as they have nothing left to play for before the playoffs and some guys could use the rest. I would be more tempted to rest guys for that reason more so than to piss Roger off.

When everyone executes their role effectively, referees rarely influence the outcome of a game. However, the Texans have been their own worst enemy this season, ranking as the third most penalized team in the NFL. It's hard to believe the league would deliberately sabotage one of its offseason media darlings, but the Texans' undisciplined play and lack of execution have painted a target on their back. Moments like Azeez’s dirty hit on Lawrence only amplify their issues.

We’d like to imagine NFL refs can start each game with a clean slate, forgetting a team's reputation—but realistically, that's a tall order.

Realistically it shouldn't be an issue at all. Maybe if you're some Pee Wee ref or something but NFL refs are supposed to be the best there is. If these guys aren't starting each game with a clean slate and are holding players/teams accountable for something in past games, then they don't need to be refs. PERIOD!!

Amazing all the bullshit penalties on the Texans when something went wrong for KC. The bullshit holding on Stingley when princess Pat got sacked. The phantom OPI on Dell. The non-call DPI against Dell. The too many to count holding by the Chiefs OL that didn't get called including the hold by Taylor on the scoop and score for the Texans that was called an incomplete pass and eventually roughing the passer. And even if you're on the "yeah, he hit him in the facemask" side, it still should have been offsetting penalties. Freaking ridiculous and it's exactly why these conspiracy theories (right or wrong) are so prevalent. THE CHIEFS HAD 2 FUCKING PENALTIES CALLED ON THEM THE ENTIRE DAY!! That's total horseshit!!

We keep saying so and so team didn't lose because of the refs, and 99% of the time I'm on board with that, but to say refs don't have an impact or don't influence a game is not a true statement. I don't know if the end result of that game yesterday would have been different, but I do know it's a completely different football game if it weren't for some of the bullshit calls and non-calls over the course of that game.

& their RT started early almost every snap.

Does he think Bobby Slowick should know how the defense is going to play every snap? Or that he's got a magic button that stops time so he can tell the receivers to adjust their routes after the snap?

In the Kubiak days this would have been in the first 15 plays that would tell the OC how teams react to certain looks.

& if that ball was thrown 4" to the left it would have been a huge offensive play call.

They still need to learn how to block the run game & protect the QB with 3 of the 5 playing positions they recently acquired. The QB has to find a way to connect with another receiver who may not even be on the roster today.

They are not a team that can honestly expect to go far in the playoffs. From that perspective they still have everything to play for.

Wouldn’t need to know how the defense sets up every play if you had route trees with actual branches on it taking advantage of the entire field rather than a tree that looks like a walking stick having entire sections of field empty or routes running into each other.

The Stoolers would also be pissed. They’re playing KC who will still be looking to clinch the #1 spot after the Bills destroy the Patriots today (Sun, Dec. 22) while our team plays yours.

Until Dell got hurt, I would've disagreed with you. The OL is improving every game.

Care to show/tell us about these route trees?

This is what I hate about these twitter scouts. They can take 4-5 plays where the DC calls a play that stops what a OC is trying to do and make it seem like things are a lot worse than they are. With this said, until Hutch proves he can block for a screen pass that play should never be run again. I thought blocking was supposed to be a strength of Hutch's. LMAO, dude is avg at best and some posters are wanting to give him more playing time and think he's a suitable replacement for Tank.

How anyone could support Slowick after yesterday is beyond me
Exactly ! He runs those stupid condensed formations then splits em wide 2 x 2 and it’s so obvious the play that’s coming! When they are split wide like that it’s an impossible ask for the tackles to get out there that fast and block a defender that already knows what play is coming! It’s maddening!

So yesterday's loss was Slowik's fault?

I thought turnovers/injuries and of course the game being rigged had far more to do with the loss than Slowik's play calling. But hey, lets blame everything. BTW, you're going to be correct, losing Dell/Diggs is going make the offense look a lot like it did in the playoffs last yr.

Do I think Slowik has been a good OC this yr. Nope, but I dont think Slowik forgot how to coach in a yrs time.

I will say regarding those awful screens:

The first one was a bad pass by CJ. Too high and by the time Nico got his hands on it the defense was already on him.

There was one screen (I think the last failed screen) where Hutch actually did have a block sealed if Nico cut inside but since he took it outside the defender was able to disengage and make the tackle. It also looked like CJ motioned to Nico that he should have cut inside after the play.

Not excusing Hutch’s blocking or Slowik’s failed playcalls. I don’t think there would have been mich gain if Nico cut inside, but it probably wouldn’t have been a negative play. And on the first one where CJ threw a bad ball same story just maybe Nico would’ve had a chance at making a football move and creating something.
