Texans and Broncos discussed Peyton Manning trade?

Kubiak didn't make Schaub run so I don't see Payton doing it. I think they'll be fine.

What do you wish for?

I hope Gary does well but BOB's Texans beat the Broncos in the AFC championship game. With that said Gary is a very good OC but avg HC at best due to his undying loyaly that sometimes is a detriment to what is good for the team/org. If Gary/Manning wins the SB that will make Corrosion's statements about Rick Smith's role in the Texans failure ring even more true.

So Kubiak winning a SB ring with arguably one of the top 3 QB's to ever play the game, on a team that was just in the SB two years ago, somehow reflects negatively on Rick Smith? OK...

Manning isn't a top 3 QB now, and the Broncos OL is very beat up.

Forget Kevin Bacon lets play 3 degrees to Rick Smith :kitten:

Lets play rate Houston's GM's

Smith
Morey
Luhnow

So do you think GM's are just mid level management with very little pull? The McNairs stay out of things and let their GM do the work. Does Crane/Les do the same things as the McNair's?

Manning just went for 4727/39/101.5 last season.

Like him or not, very few guys do that at 28, much less 38.

I would rate Brady, Rodgers,Wilson,Luck off of the top of my head over Manning. Manning was below avg late in the season due to age/injury. Nobody beats father time.

Age and wear-n-tear are awfully significant factors when considering how a guy might close another long, grueling season.

There are at least a few qb's I'd take over Peyton for next year, as I have serious doubts about how effective he may be from around week 14 on into any postseason.

why is this worthy of further discussion?
Manning is in Denver.
Period.
Past swings and misses (if there were any, which I doubt) don't matter now.

Tell that to Michael Jordan, or hell even Jason Terry. Floyd Mayweather or Ali? They were all still kicking the **** out of people much younger than them well past their primes. I see no way anyone could put Wilson over Manning in any way shape or form. I do not care that Wilson is younger. He will never reach the heights that Manning has and you can quote me on that. Put it in your sig. That is nothing but pure fantasy.

Umm, this is MJ after his first retirement.....

Here's another one. Jordan scoring 43 at 40 years old.

(a) The NBA record for most pts in a game is held by Wilt Chamberlain with 100
(b) Who else on that Wizards team was allowed to shoot seeing the part owner and Director of Basketball Operations was on the court with them:D

Manning throws for almost 5,000 yards, 40 TDs on a 101 rating and he's done according to the resident experts of this grand board?

Funny. While I don't think getting him was a good move this year, 4 years ago it should have been a no brainer. That's why Elway is a better GM than Smith and the Broncos owner has more nuts than McNair. I love the Texans but it is what it is.

In hindsight, yes. At the time, not at all. We would've had to do a lot of moving to make room for a guy who wasn't a sure thing to even play again. Forget about getting hurt after his neck surgery, few if any were confident he'd have full range of motion and strength to throw NFL passes. More a questionmark since he was let go ... nobody lets a Peyton Manning leave if he can still play. The Broncos had Tebow and new management, they were in a place to gamble, we had Schaub who was fully recovered from injury and lead us to 12-4 the following season. I love Manning, I have him as probably the best QB ever. In 2012 I said 'pass', and only looking back can I imagine changing that stance.

4 years ago, Manning was a gamble on even returning, much less playing at an elite level. I will say it was a good move not to take that gamble at the time and only in retrospect with 20-20 hindsight can you say it was a no brainer.

I'm not going to get into the decision whether to get him but the folks acting like he is done are dumbasses.

We could buy him, stick him in a locker for 10 years, pull him out and he'd still be the best QB the Texans ever had
